Hiya tankers! Summer time draws to the close, but I trust you all had a splendid holiday with family & friends. Speaking of holidays, I am positive many of you made a travel plan that included all the admirable natural, cultural or historical monuments and other tourist attractions you wanted to visit. If you did so, this experience may come in handy in this particular contest.

Your job is to make a one day travel itinerary (i.e. a detailed journey plan with a couple of places to visit) composed of fictional tourist attractions resembling a certain part in Tanki Online map. To explain it further, you will select one of the Tanki's map (see the map list below) and turn it into fictional tourist resort/town. Once you choose your desired map, you will create fictional tourist attractions from map's components (buildings, plazas, towers, mountains, skybox, etc.) present in that specific map. These attractions will create the travel path of your itinerary.

Compulsory Components:

Your itineraries must contain the following components;

- Itinerary Title - simple identification of the itinerary you chose (e.g. Travel itinerary - Serpuhov, Trip to Edinburgh,

Tour around Rio, Natural wonders of Bobruisk, etc.)

- Description of the resort/map - why should tourists visit your resort/map, what makes the fictional resort/map

special, history of the resort/map,  interesting things, etc. (Note that everything must be fiction!)

- Tourist attractions - practically anything that draws attention of tourists (hotels, restaurants, museums, castles

beaches, sport facilities, festivals, etc.) - the only limitation is your imagination and creativity.

Tourist attraction requirements: - you have to pick out and describe at least 5 tourist attractions.

                                                       - they must resemble a certain map area (e.g. if you pick a museum, the map

you chose before must contain a building representing it)

                                                       - it must be TO-related - fictional attractions must be somehow linked to any TO

aspect (e.g. you can't create a museum of automobiles since they do not exist in TO

universe, but you can create a museum of ancient hull designs, etc.)

- Tourist attraction's screenshot -  this is simply a screenshot from the map you chose which displays the tourist

attraction (if you are making a museum than the screenshot will contain a building present in the map)

   - you can slightly edit your screenshot to better portray the attraction (e.g you can add logos, names, etc.)

useful link for newcomers; How to make a screenshot/ How to upload a picture / How to post a picture on forum!

- Timeline - basically timing estimation for every tourist attractions, how much time is at disposal for visitation.

These are just compulsory components. If you won't include them, your chance of winning may decrease. If you have own ideas that would suit your itinerary, you are free to use them. You will stand out and get extra credits for creativity.

Example:

Check out the example to forge a picture of how your itinerary should look.

I am curious. Can we do something like a worldly tour? Like 7 Wonders of the World but instead 7 Wonders of Tanki using the provided maps?

I shouldn't think so, a travel itinerary is basically a planner for all the places you want to go and stuff you wanna while on holiday, and a tour guide wouldn't be the same.

Nope, you are allowed to pick only one map which must contain all the tourist attractions.

Hello, Rio!

World-famous city Rio de Janeiro and capital of Brazil is here to take on summer with a blast! With nearly half of the city declared drug-free by the Tanki Rules of Conduct Office; the beautiful, mesmerizing and awe-inspiring landscape sparkling in rainwater; the beaches shimmering with golden sand; many remarkable rank-ups to be shot; the grand opening of Cedric's newly constructed office and the Tankalympics 2016, Rio is a must for this year!

Arrival:

We will arrive in Rio by air at Rio de Janeiro International Airport one day before our day-trip starts, that is, on the 5th of March, 2016. Upon arrival, we will take a taxi to The Grand Hotel where the day after, the most epic day of our lives will commence.

vdpI4aH.jpg?1

Time: 06:00 - 08:00

Place: The Grand Hotel, Rio

They say the day begins early here in Rio and so, we will start of our day at The Grand Hotel, Rio. The hotel consists of three buildings. The main building, or the hotel at the back, a casino and a VIP block just ahead. This is one of the most grandeur and finest hotels in Rio, serving over three-hundred, both local, and international foods. In our spare time, we could either choose between a enjoyable swimming session or a highly intimidating game of Tankémon Go. Our breakfast here will consist of some fruits, including mangoes, peaches and apples; some veggies including carrots, a cold-cut of Welp cheese, the finest brand in Brazil! Other edibles include juices, coffee, bread and a special dish named Pao de Waspo translating to essence of the Wasp.

J1Gq6zH.jpg?1

Time: 09:00 - 11:00

Place: Sunshine Beaches, Rio

Right after having breakfast, our trip around Rio will begin. First on the list is one the most beautiful beaches in Tankiverse - Sunshine Beaches. With the palm trees gracefully dancing in the air, and the sound of shimmering waves crashing upon the golden-colored sand, this will be one of the most enjoyable hour of our one-day trip. We could play anything we want here - a good game of Beach Volleyball, or some Football.

ai34r9b.jpg?1

Time: 12:00 - 15:00

Place: The Platform Hotel, Rio

After a long time at the beach, lunch time will arrive. Instead of going back to The Grand Hotel, we are going to move into a new one, called The Platform Hotel. This hotel is a bit cheaper but provides exceptionally good service as the previous one. It has a great view of the Mt. Alternativa with Christ the Redeemer on the top. Our lunch will include pro-Brazilian dishes. To name a few: Huntero de Aguero, Shaftio ne Didia, Soup e Firedo and last but not least, Perveli Bug Rolsa.

JS08upK.jpg

Time: 16:00 - 20:00

Place: Christ the Redeemer, Mt. Alternativa, Rio

After eating lunch and taking a break for a few hours, we will begin our hike up Mountain Alternativa - the host of Christ the Redeemer. It's one long drive up, taking at least an hour or so. The path leading upward contains hairpins and dangerous One-Man-Parkour moments. We have saved hundreds of supplies just for this mountain. Oh and one last thing, this mountain isn't under the 'Rio No-Supply Act 2333'. Once up, we will drive up another hundred meters to Christ the Redeemer. This stature was made in 1253 by a tanker called Pasco de Titan as a gift for Jesus. A little note to self: Don't forget to take some selfies!

NGVcGho.jpg

Time: 20:00 - 21:30

Place: Cedric's office, Rio

Once we have gotten back to sea-level, we will be escorted to Cedric's newly constructed office, here in Rio! The office is actually a skyscraper, touching the most blissful and beautiful skies we will ever see. Upon entering the building, we will first be given a tour around the inside of the building itself, then we will be taken to the topmost floor, where hopefully Cedric will be there to greet us. We shouldn't worry really, Cedric will drop some Golds too!

EpByPti.jpg

Time: 21:30 - 22:45

Place: The Rooftops, Rio

What better way to end a day trip than to parkour onto some rooftops and do BBQ. We Vikings have always loved the meat of Hornets and Wasps, do they become our meal. We will first One-Man-Parkour onto the first level, then climb up with the help of lifts and operators. Once we have reached the top-level, a grill shall await us, with meat ready on them. This will be one of the best dinners we will ever have in our lives. After having dinner, we will move back to The Grand Hotel, for a good nights sleep!

Departure:

We will depart Rio from Rio de Janeiro International Airport. Our flight back home will be 09:00 in the morning on the 5th of March, 2016.

Special Notes:

  1. To have a first-aid kit with us in case of an emergency.
  2. To have all emergency phone numbers of Brazil.
  3. To have extra money, batteries and a cellphone.

See the Sights of Solikamsk…
Solikamsk has been established in Tanki’s servers since the ancient times of 2009. With a variety of interesting features to explore, it presents an opportunity for ‘an experience to remember’.

Itinerary:
09:00-11:00
The old factory...

Yw5GGQa.jpg?1

The day’s activities will start with a visit to a collection of buildings which used to make up a factory. This factory was used for the production of hats for tanks, when this was considered as an idea back in 2014. As the idea was tested, a variety of hats were produced - bowler hats, top hats, woolly hats, baseball caps, berets, straw hats….
But this idea was eventually discarded after there were problems with the scaling of the hats, with wasps being fitted with huge hats which covered their turrets, obscuring their vision, and causing them to keep driving into walls and frequently fall off the edge of maps; and after there was an unfortunate fight which broke out amongst members of Tanki staff, who were involved in a heated argument about which type of hat was the best.
So production was shut down, and the factory deserted. Still housed in the tower is a mismatch collection of hats, left abandoned and forgotten.

11:00-13:00
Holes with a history...

0YMqpNo.jpg

The next place we will visit is another legacy from an abandoned project. There are a series of holes found around central Solikamsk, which show the beginning of a project to create a large swimming pool, which was to be where tankers could have enjoyed cooling off from the summer heat. Unfortunately, this project was abandoned after workers rage-quit because they kept falling into the holes; and when they decided to use detonating mines to make the holes, and as they did the countdown to detonation they kept getting banned for ‘flooding’.
The ramp (pictured) was intended to be a large diving board, but when the swimming pool construction was stopped, it was lowered to become a ramp.

13:00-14:00
A peaceful pause...

daK3ki7.jpg?1

After lunch, a chance to sit and relax, taking in the pleasant views of peaceful hills, set against the bright blue skies. Eagle-eyed tankers can look out for any off-target supply drop parachutes. Some people suggest that these off-target supply drops indicate a secret hidden part of the map, located far out into abyss surrounding Solikamsk’s main landscape, and have made attempts to try to discover how to get there. But so far these attempts have only ended in self-destruction, and no evidence to support the theory has been found.

14:00-16:00
Art with a meaning?...

UgwLOex.jpg?1

Next stop, a viewing of a beautiful mosaic, created from the remnants of beaten up tanks.
Another spot popular with conspiracy theorists, who suggest that it’s the symbol of a secret underground society, who are covertly controlling things for their own benefit in Tanki. There is no evidence that this mosaic has any particular meaning.

16:00-18:00
Reminder of an interesting piece of esport 'history'...

ymJnJ7k.jpg?1

Now a chance to see the infamous gap where, in 2013, a top esports player got himself stuck during an important game. As the game was live-streamed, he was subject to much ridicule and never managed to live it down, leading him to decide to retire from esports.

18:00-20:00
An ancient bridge...

4b5mn7u.jpg?1

We will now have the opportunity to admire a longstanding feature - Solikamsk’s very own ‘Bridge of Sighs’. Named to commemorate the many (angry) sighs of tankers who’ve narrowly missed gold boxes. Apparently one day a tanker staged a one-man protest on the top of the bridge, saying he was ‘cheated’ of ‘his’ gold box. Although this protest was quickly ended when a group of tankers in the game descended upon the bridge and pushed him off and upside down, causing him to rage-quit the game. A second later, just after he’d left, another gold dropped.

20:00-22:00
Haunted hollows...

ucCluii.jpg?1

Finally, in the evening twilight, we will cross through the dark passageway which many believe is haunted. Stories say that one day a tanker was valiantly carrying the enemy flag back to his team’s base – the flag which would be the 10th, and therefore winning, capture for his team. As he was driving through this very passageway, seconds away from his team’s base, he suddenly lagged out of the game. When he finally manged to return, it was to find that his team had lost, and such was this tanker’s rage that he vowed to never leave, haunting this passageway forever more. People who since claim to have witnessed this tanker’s ghostly presence say that he will appear, angrily firing at all he sees, though his ghostly ammo does no damage, which only increases his everlasting wrath.

22:00-22:30
Something to take home with you...

alYCTxv.jpg?1

Just before we leave, there is a chance to browse the gift shop, and buy one of our unique souvenirs. Souvenirs include: a miniature supply box with mini parachute (decorative, not usable); a model of the ‘Bridge of Sighs’; and a sticker with ‘I’ve seen the ghost of Solikamsk’, to stick onto your tank.

YOUR UNFORGETTABLE SOJOURN - COLOGNE

Cologne - the Tankiverse's very own heritage village. An exquisite blend of the old and the new, this German city perfectly illustrates the constantly evolving landscape of Tanki Online with its rugged forts, Victorian-era housing and its towering skyscrapers complementing each other perfectly. An extremely photogenic location, a wonder of the world, and marvels of architecture are just some of the things that draws one to the place of your dreams!

Your trip begins early in the morning, filled with sightseeing locations that keep you occupied for the rest of your day....

0800-1000 hours

(Arrival, check-in and breakfast)

bveh2GC.jpg?1

We would be arriving via a flight from the Berlin International Tankodrome. After a one-hour flight, you'll be stepping out into a total contrast from the hustle and bustle of the German capital.

Cologne, as a heritage village, feels compelled to grant all tourists the very best experience of how its denizens used to live, until recently. So feel free to make yourself comfy at The Villa, a simple yet elegant mansion which is now a respected hotel. This is a highly recommended place of stay in Cologne for its vintage looks, nostalgic comforts and simple, homely meals. Our breakfast plan would include Shaftuerkraut, a classic German composition, and freshly brewed Hornet-infused coffee.

After a refreshing break, we would now be exploring the city...

1000-1300 hours

(Cologne Fort)

QfeNM6o.jpg?1

The pièce de résistance of Cologne, this fort dates back to the fifteenth century when the first Vikings settled down in this part of Stankinavia to use as a base for their troops invading the rest of Europe. As civilization thrived, the Vikings uprooted their base from Cologne and moved to occupy Dusseldorf, leaving Cologne populated with immigrants from Barda, and this fort serving as a lone reminder of their times. The fort also served as the site for the Guevera rebellion, where the city's border patrol unsuccessfully tried to overthrow the government, leading to this memorial being a permanent feature of the city.

History apart, this fort gives excellent views of not only old Cologne, but also of the whole city. Soaring landscapes and a perennial breeze make sure tourists stay amazed and cool, and its daunting watchtowers, ramps and dungeons make an awesome photo album!

Visitors have the option to take the guided tour during this three-hour window, or simply roam around the premises of their own free will. Either way, you will be transported six hundred years into the past, marveling at the architecture and grandeur of this fort, which happens to be an AlternativaPlatform-approved wonder of the world!

1330-1430 hours

(Lunch and the Apothecary)

7ZTSHIH.jpg?1

We would be dining at Das Fest, where guests can choose from the cross-cuisine buffet offered. We highly recommend the Hammerburger, a local and international favourite!

Following lunch, we shall proceed to Cologne's renowned apothecary, where one can find an assortment of health-boosting nanobots, which do a variety of functions ranging from decreasing your turning radius to trebling your speed! The market caters to a variety of tastes, and despite being one of the oldest of its kind, is considered the best place to get enhanced - at a lesser cost! Also, do try out the adjoining Upgrade Therapy Centre which is the oldest form of medicine in the Tankiverse. It really does rejuvenate you!

1430-16-30 hours

(The Cultural Centre, Tea)

GGs2xqG.jpg?1

Cologne's cultural centre is a wonderful thing. It's a mixture of museum, art installation, heritage exhibition and performance hall. It is here that the medley of the old and new really becomes prominent. Lose yourself in a timeline of Cologne's rich history, be wowed by the architectural genius of the place, or take some time off and watch a performance in the hall! Artistes from all over the world perform in this reputed stage, and this is something you do not want to miss!

Also, this is the right place to pick up souvenirs. Keychains to wearables, you name it, this place has it!

Then, unwind at the Ruhe Cafe, which, true to its name, is a magnet for calmness. Munch on the snacks of your choice as you take in the essence of Cologne through its rooftop seats, and this is an excellent place to capture panorama shots of the city. Be amazed!

1700-1900 hours

(Observatorium)

kFptJzF.jpg?1

Being more than a thousand feet above sea level, Cologne has a lot of sightseeing spots, but the Observatorium is the best of them - the views on offer are splendid, and provided tourists are careful, one can see as far as Berlin. Entry is free for all, and the visit is absolutely worth anything. It literally takes one's breath away.

A peep from the observatory grants one the rolling landscape of Cologne and surrounding areas, and the thrill of being so high above the ground is a great addition to any trip. We recommend you spend a good two hours here, and enjoy the serenity of Cologne while you're at it.

Also, the observatorium has plenty of picnic spots, so make sure you take maximum advantage of these. That experience will form a lasting impression on you!

1900-2230 hours

(The Aerial Tour, Dinner)

x8SPVs7.jpg?1

We've saved the best for the last. In a fitting climax, we'll be taking all of you in an aeroplane and looking at Cologne from above. It really is an interesting perspective of the city, and a really cool opportunity to view the daily lives of Cologne's residents - from above.

This is also the perfect way to observe how, in Cologne, the old meets the new - and both grace each other. The fort, old Cologne and the metropolis adjoin each other, and lend Cologne its character, antiquity and charm. That is what distinguishes this from other tourist spots in the Tankiverse.

And that just about rounds up our sightseeing. Following the flight, we'll be retiring to The Villa for dinner, where we get treated to marvelous Pommes frites and Rouvulcen, a dish of onions and select meats. With stomachs full and hearts light, we retire for the night, to return the next morning.

0700 hours (Day 2)

(Departure)

We have a surprise for you: we shall be returning to Berlin via the waterways, retracing the route the Vikings took when they first settled in Cologne. This historical trip would be a perfect ending to an awesome sojourn. From Berlin, we will be parting ways and returning to our homes.

However, the memories we formed here will not fade anytime soon, and we look forward to seeing your photographs. Thank you for choosing TNT Getaways; hope to see you again!
