Let's Discuss Paints!

Recommended Posts

I could not find any comprehensive table which has all of the new paints. (old table by ChaosR) So I tried to do this with pencil and paper for me, but found it is impossible with almost 70 paints. So invested 2 hours and make a table, following the old one, which is given below. Also in the old topic it was not mentioned that one cannot create new topic, so for better visibility, and convenience, I am making this new topic. Hope this helps.

Note; Paints with more than 25% protection are marked in golden, our favourite colour! And all the numbers represent percentage of protection.

W0sqUXy.pngA very useful table of fully micro-upgraded paints stats has been provided by @zigakovac . I have slightly modified the appearance of that table and nothing else. Full credit of this table goes to him. Kudos!

Correction: the africa fully mued : hammer should be 30%, you wrote as 45%; the vulcan should be 45%, you wrote 38% (Courtesy: wild001)

Also take a look at the excellent table provided by @wild001. This list is from his guide for being judicious in paint selection (Look here for the source: http://en.tankiforum.com/index.php?showtopic=224878&do=findComment&comment=3983800)

Some things to remember when buying paints:

1: Every gun goes through a craze when it seems like all your enemies use it. DO NOT FALL VICTIM TO THIS TRICK AND BUY PAINT FOR THAT GUN!!!! You will buy the paint and use it while the craze is on, then need a new paint when it's over.

2: Some paints have qualities that make you difficult to shoot at long range. (Now they won't make you invisible or anything, but they will break up your shape and make sighting you difficult). Find which map you most commonly play in and buy paint for that map.

3: Buy a paint that helps you with your battle tactic. I fell victim to the craze trap in buying Forester and Lava. As a long-range sniper, however, I was in the most need of Dragon. You should out not which guns do the most damage, but which ones make it hard for you to return fire (ex. Twins will through your sights of if you have a small hull), and buy paint protecting against that.

4: BUY YOUR PAINT DURING A SALE. This may seem like a lot of waiting, but by buying during a sale, I managed to afford both Mammoth M1 and Dragon with the crystals I had (which couldn't buy either without the sale).

I bought the 'Dirty' paint in a sale, for my Mammoth, mainly because I am often victim to Shaft and Railgun snipers, and also because it looks alright too :P

I bought Cedar because of my M1 Thunder, then for some reason used up most of my remaining crystals on Electra. What a waste... maybe it will be more helpful if I ever buy Firebird.
