Introduction

Hi there,

I'm Athena and I will be using this thread to provide you with the latest news/ updates concerning the EN community on the ongoing 3rd season of starladder. I already discussed with couple of newspaper reporters the need of article regarding such article but since that doesn't seem to be happening I will be starting my own thread regarding this matter.( Goldrock started such article back in issue 29 but it didn't continue). This thread will be mainly focused on the progress and updates on handful of EN clans at the PRO series. If I find enough time for it i may also include the SEMI series clans in the future as well.

My goal

To inspire the younger generation of the EN community (I.e lower ranked) and provide them with a basic understanding on starladder/cybersports with the hope that it will eventually help an EN clan reach the star series in the future.

Technical difficulties

I will be entirely posting my posts/ updates through my smart phone since I have limited access to a PC atm. I hereby apologise for any hardships readers may go through while reading my posts due to the lack of organization, grammatical mistakes etc.

Starladder is a company specialized in e sports. In June 2014 Tanki online signed in a contract with them and as a result nearly most of cybesports battles are now organized and conducted by starladder.

Skillz: Hey!

Athena: Can you give me a brief description on how the things are working out for you at starladder?

Skillz: well , the main problem which EN players have is timing. The timings aren't good at all. Everything else seems to be working fine for me.

Athena: Ok, how was the last pro series game? And what went wrong in it? ( unfortunately of course :( )

Skillz: hmm... that will be hard to tell , cause i was not there on that day. As far as i know , the there was problem was with our defenders. They were not online (like me) and the main thing was that Kungur is said to be their (EE) best map.

Athena: Aw... Sorry about that :(. Hope you guys manage work it out well next time! Do you have any plans for your next game?

Skillz: Yeah but I would rather keep them hidden for the next battle ;) .

Athena: Hi there Zzz-07!

Zzz-07: Hi

Athena: It's my pleasure to talk with you! Can you give a brief description on how things are working out at starladder for AK?

Zzz-07: Thank you , I'm so glad to talk with you , AK as you know we are in Pro series Group 5 we are the first in the group at this moment , And we are working hard to get in STAR series season 3 ,To this moment we have managed to achieve what we seek.

Athena: In fact as a part of the EN community we are extremely proud of you! I saw that you managed to win the last 2 matches! Congrats yet again! Can you describe how competitive those two teams were?

Zzz-07: For sure we are doing that for EN Community not only for AK members , We are looking to make EN community proud of us and we hopefully made you like that really , about the others teams who played with them first two matches , it wasn't easy, every clan is harder than the other one but we are in AK respecting all clans we are playing with them as everything or nothing since every match is more important than the last one.

Athena: Great to hear that! What map were the last two games played? and did you guys train extensively for those 2 battles?

Zzz-07: First match was with Fox's we played in Bridges , Second match was with Father's we played in Tribute , About the training, for sure we worked hard on those battles!

Athena: As one of the top EN clans what do you think about the other EN community clans that have made it to the PRO series? (I.e TG, GUN etc).

Zzz-07: Yes, as a player from the EN community, I support these clans as much as possible and I hope from my heart to see them advance in Pro series , and apply to the star series next season. Unfortunately, the clan GUN lost in the first two games, which makes the task difficult for them , but it is still an opportunity for other clans to prove themselves.

Athena: Indeed that was unfortunate. :( What do you think of the EN clans that are participating in the AM series? and do you have any advice for them?

Zzz-07: In fact, I am very proud because the no. of clans that have become interested in the competition is more than ever before, and this will make a difference in the future for Sure, I wish all of them good luck! For the clans that play in AM series, my advice to them is do not stop at a certain point doesn't matter how many times lost, you must return and try to even up and you will see a lot of EN community clans in the star season in the coming seasons.

Athena: That is exactly what I wanted to hear from you :) ! Moving on, do you have any special plans for your next match against S.T?

Zzz-07: Sure i have a lot of plans as you know S.T is strong clan, But i don't want to show these plans now , Time is too early to talk about it :D

Athena: Hi lank!

Lankbouv:Hello there!

Athena: It's my pleasure to interview you! As one of the newest members of AK how do you find yourself fitting in with the older group of AK members?

Lankbouv: Well, as there are 2 or 3 of us who are new I don't feel alienated at all. I've struck up good friendships with some of the players such as PAKISTANII. Sometimes I think that the older members prefer to "ignore" you as such, until you prove yourself. I don't mean that in the way that I'm saying they're rude, but more that they want to see what I'm like.

Athena: Lank what differences do you see between your previous clan PTL and AK?

Lankbouv: Well, As you know, I was in IC for a long time, but that was not really a similar experience to PTL due to light format coming in at a later stage. However, PTL, as I was leader, was a new thing to me. I had followed starseries season 1 and 2 avidly and I was really interested to play in it. I already played a lot of XP so that helped me in terms of technical skills.In terms of the difference between PTL and AK, in PTL I was one of the better players, but when going to AK I had to prove myself again through several weeks of trials. As soon as I entered AK there was a noticeable difference. For starters, when organising a training we use the simple method of someone saying: training? then the first person says "1", and the second "2" if we get to "6" we have enough for a training and so we go. It was a lot more organised I can say that much.

Athena: Well I'm sure that being organized certainly had an effect on getting AK this far!, moving on, what kind of advices would you like to give to the younger generation of clans with regard to the way things are being done at AK?

Lankbouv: Think about your tactics before training. Never just go into a training and tell people randomly what to get. Have a good think first. Also, in terms of advice, the thing with younger clans is, that it is always possible to get to the very top in starladder. Any group of people can take their clan up the leagues, providing they have skill. it's not like in football, in real life, where you have to train for hours in terms of fitness. What I;m saying is, that without special treatment, you can rise to the top.

Athena: Thanks for your valuable advice Lank! Moving on, would you like to share any one of the most thrilling moments you've at PRO series being a AK member?

Lankbouv: Well, we haven't had any really close calls in the first 3 games. But once, we played a training against Arm Pride in red alert and won 3-0 which was a pretty special moment.

Athena: Wow! It's great to hear that AK did well against a star series clan! I think we are at the brink of getting a clan from the EN community to be selected to starladder. Moving on to my next question, now that AK has easily managed to surpass the group stages of pro series do you guys have any special plans/ strategies for the upcoming knockout stages of the tournament?

Lankbouv: Well, don't count your chickens before they hatch, Arm Pride are performing poorly at the moment, so it isn't that great. Well, we'll continue to train of course, which is one of the best ways to prepare really. I can't share our tactics, but as we get further on in the competition, we want to go out even less, so we might get nervous. Hence, the best preparation is to remind yourself of what you did in trainings and just play like any other training.

Athena: Thank you lank for spending your valuable time with me in this brief interview. Would you like to give one last price of advice for vast number of tankers out there who would like to begin their career at starladder?

Lankbouv: Find a clan quickly. The only way to join good clans, is to get experience. So the sooner you start the better.

4) Interview with VEN Law-Enforcer. (08/02/15)

Athena: Hi there law_enforcer.

LE: Hello Athena369.

Athena: It's my pleasure to be talking with you. Can you give me a brief description on how the starladder season 3 has been for VEN ?

LE: Same here! Of course, It was a bit hard we were in the hardest group in my opinion. I didn't know that we can do it! every member of our clan feelings with happiness

but the real problem was all about timing, we missed many players especially in the match against EE, we lost being unable to have enough players, and that was a bit annoying to be honest.

at least we got enough points which will let us go to the next stage.

Athena: I am sure that must have been really frustrating :( . But I am also sure the win against IBIZA yesterday must have boosted your Morales. Can you please relate to me how the things unfolded yesterday?

LE: I haven't been that person who was taking much care of winning, in fact they were so good.

but after we won against them I felt so good and felt like say " Nothing can stop me :D "

every member has improved their skills after trainings we had before we played against IBIZA. We were practising so hard and we are so glad that the time we spent on it was not wasted.

Athena: I'm glad to hear that indeed :). Having mostly members based from Mediterranean region how does your clan manage to take part in tournaments based on different time zones? Do you find it hard to comply with?

LE: Indeed, We lives in the same country but different cities. Which means same time zone.

but the problem is the time of prayers, having tournament time same with prayers time in our country certainly makes problems for us, we missed players some times because of the above reason. It is all about our religion Islam :).

Athena: Moving on, may I know why the battle with CENTURION which was to be help on 27th January still put on a hold?

LE: As Vio-vio said, Starladder site has some problems with score entries. We already put the scores so early but opposite team didn't and they were complaining us for nothing.

Athena: That is unfortunate :( . What was the result of that battle?

LE: Tie with score 2-2.

Athena: I was influenced when I saw old members of TOP GUN left the clan, but still they are doing well!

especially AK seems to be easily winning against their enemies in the group they are in.

they are growing with their skills and I'm proud to see them improving!

GUN clan is a bit quiet at the moment but I'm pretty sure they are doing well :)

Same with D&K maybe because they joined PRO series a bit late and are still getting used it.

I hope to see more EN clans in the next season.

Athena: Moving on to our next question, Do you any advice to be given for the younger generation of tankers who joining starladder in the AM series?

LE: Keep practising, communicate between your members. Don't compare yourself with newbie clans. Keep you eyes on PRO clans and try to understand what they are doing (I.e strategies, tricks) and try to execute them.

and especially leaders have to make plans for his/her clan and don't forget trainings :)

Go forward and try! and never take back your steps :).

your skills is NOT the measurement for a win, teamwork is :).

Athena: And our final question of the day, Do you think that one of the EN clans will possibly make it into the star series this season?

LE: I do, AK is doing very well this season they really wanted to become a Star clan! and I hope all EN community supports our clans :)

Athena:I'm sure you have tons of experience being on so many great clans! Can you please share your opinion on how this season has been for the EN clans that are fighting at PRO series to get a place at starladder next season?

CN: Well, I will say that, Only 1 clan left in the whole pro series,

The reason, is that the EN clans think that the PRO series in just a joke, and "another tournament", Well then this is why they are out from the tournament, and I will add that they EN community don't have enough good players, as you can see the EN clans got crashed in the tournament because they aren't in the same level as Russian clans ,

The only clan that is still alive is is AK which is a great clan with a great leader.

Athena: That's some serious facts you got! Moving on how do you believe that the EN community can build up their skills to defeat the great RU clans?

CN: Well, First they need to take the best 24 players

after that, they can make 2 clans, and good tactics, because if all the 5 clans in the pro series

would become 2 clans, (with the best players from each clans, )

and only serious players, that know what they want, that know's how to play in hard battle,

Im sure they can get into star series, as they did before ( Noob Army + AK )

Athena: Well that certainly is a considerable option if we need to break into star series. Moving on to our next question, what advice do you have for the younger generation of clans who are taking part in am series representing the EN community?

CN: Sure, There are many streams from the "Star series"

All they need to do is just watch how they play, team work, and skills!

Athena: Hey DoubleSh0t!

DS: Hey Athena!

Athena: It's my pleasure to be talking with you. Can you introduce yourself to the community?

DS: Thank you, sure, My in Game nickname is DoubleSh0t, my old nickname was MT-Swagboy, and at the moment I'm playing for the clan Easy Company [E_C].

Athena: How is it going for EC in the stage 2 of the Semi series?

DS: Unfortunately, we lost our first game in Stage 2 of the Semi Series vs the russian clan FBI, In my opinion we have the Hardest Group in the Semi Series since 3 clans, E_C, FBI and PFH are battling hard for the first 2 places in the Group, we're now gonna play the decisive match tommorow 18/02/2015 vs PFH, if we lose we're out of the Semi Series, but we'll try our best and survive in this tournament.

Athena: In fact I believe the same too! I'm sure you have done well against FBI ro get a 1:2 score with them. Are you having any specific plans for you battle against PFH tomorrow?

DS: Yeah, we're training and working hard for this important match, because our goal is to play in PRO Series next Season, to do so we have to win this match and carry on, we have other plans but they're secret, since they are part of our tactic.

Athena: Great to here that! Moving on to our next question, what do you think of the current situation of the EN clans at PRO series?

DS: Sadly, I think they're not doing that great since only 1 clan out of 5 passed their group that is AK, they are doing so good since they won their first 3 matches against strong russian clans, I think AK got a really strong team and they can make it to the top 2 clans of the PRO Series, I would really like to see a clan playing against the Strongest clan of the game, from here I would like to wish them best of luck.

Athena: Unfortunately what you stated was exactly true. Let's hope that they will be able to make a stronger come back in the next season. Moving on to the next question, can you provide the newer EN clans at starladder with some advice with your previous experiences at cybersports section and starladder?

Athena:I'm sure the link you provided will help the readers alot! Will you be kind enough to share some of your thoughts on the starladder system?

DS: The Starladder System works perfectly well, I think it's better than old times when there were tournaments only on the forum, with the Starladder system, you can participate almost everyday in tournaments such as Ranking Cups which are played everyday.

Athena: Exactly! As a veteran tanker what are your future goals and dreams in tanki?

DS:I would like to keep improving in my CyberSports career and my main goal is that someday, I'll play in Star Series. :)

Athena: I'm sure you will eventually get there if you keep playing at this rate. :) was there anyone that you would like to mention that inspired you to get to this stage?

DS: There were some old friends, that told me that there are format battles on Server 1, I started playing in those type of battles and than I started joining some clans.

Athena: Hi Cynthia!

Cynthia.003: Hello! How are you?

A: I'm fine! Thanks for asking, can you please give us a brief description about yourself?

C: Sure what do you want to know about me?

A:Well for a start, when did you first start playing tanki?and how has you journey evolved to this date?

C: I been playing tanki since like 2 years, and my journey has evolved a lot since I started playing XP.

A: 2 years is certainly a lot of experience behind you! What clans have you been in? Will you be able to share one of those great moments you had with an old clan of yours?

C: Well I was in RC(Reaper Crew), TTB(The Tank Breakers) and my best clan I have been "AK" Arab Knights not All kind Star series season 1

A:Great! Moving on to our next question, how has this season been so far for your current clan D&A?

C: Well we lost in PRO Series, to Wirus we played with 5 so yeah, vs Alert we had bad tactics first round I decided to changed them it worked out but last round we lost because one of our members lag, but overall it has been a good season.

A:Well...as a part of the EN community we all feel sad about the losses you endured at PRO series. But I'm sure you guys will be able to come back even stronger the next season :). What are your expectations for the next season? And have you started practising for it yet?

C: Yeah we are going to try to stay in PRO Series and we started practicing for the next season hope we do better in that one

A: That's our hope as well :). What opinions do you have with the way the top EN clans played at pro series? Do you believe that they could have done better? Or is it simply the fact that they were unlucky? (being in worst groups etc.)

C: Well I think AK had an ok group, TG had an easy group I don't know how they lost maybe organization or stuff like that, GUN had a hard group+ they never play tanki anymore that's why they lost and VEN and us (D&K) got the hardest groups of the EN community I guess.

A: I guess it was really unfortunate being in the hardest team :( , Moving on, Do you have any advice to be given for the newcomers/ new clans for starladder or the cybersport section?

C: Well first you need to have good coordination with your members also to have good tactics train everyday to get better not matter what just keep trying until you get better.

A: I'm sure that will help the fellow newbies of the community. Moving on to our next question. What do you think of the current starladder system? Have you got any suggestions regarding it?

C: I like it but I think they prefer the Russians more than US, I think they should make a Starladder just for English/German clans

A: What things do you think that make it so hard for the EN community to crack the star series? What differences are their between RU and EN clans what is causing this difference?

C: I think the mainly reason it's because they have a better ping than us since they live in Russia also everyone like spectators/commentators /referees are Russian I haven't seen anyone from English Community so they prefer the Russians.

A: Moving on to the next question, what clans from SEMI series do you think will be able to make it into pro series in the next season?

S: I think TZL will make it or maybe KC from the DE community. Until now they are doing pretty good and no good clans from EN community in SEMI so that's why.

A :Aw ok.. What are your opinions on the fact that every major game in SL is done in light format? Do you believe new formats with other turrets/hulls should appear?

S: No, I think this format its good, but also I think they should put Hard format back.

A :Having been on the scene for more than 2 years, what are your future goals and expectations in tanki?

S: Well I want to go to star series again that's my #1 goal as of now.

Hey there!,

With this article I will be hoping to brief the current situation of the leading clans at the pro series of starladder

AK- As of the time the this article is written AK seems to be spearheading the EN clans that are taking part at pro series. Having comfortably won the first two matches against the Russian clans Fox's and fathers AK seems to have the potential to make it to the next stage of starladder.The next battle which is to be held at 16.30 p.m GMT+0 against the Russian clan S.T will decide whether AK will progress to the next stage or not. It should be also noted that S.T already lost a battle against FOX's who were previously defeated by AK.

GUN- being one of the EN communities best clans under the leadership of Deus-mors-ghy, gun seem to have lost their form this season. Having lost all of their matches at group stages GUN will continue to play as a PRO series clan for the rest of this season.

TOP GUN- TG too have unfortunately lost one of their first two battles against the Russian clan U.P. Though they have managed to draw their next game against OnSkill it still won't be enough to take them to the next stage of pro series. The final match in the tournament which TG will be taking part will be held on 8th Feb against the current leader of their group, SW.

D&K- Having won their first match against the clan FVRT, D&K are too on the brink of getting stuck at the group stages. Their loss on the 2nd battle against the clan WIRUS will play a vital factor on it since unlike other groups, it's 3 v 3 situation at group 8. (FVRT got disqualified from the tournament due to breaking rules). They will be playing their next battle against the Russian clan ALERT today at 16.30 p.m GMT+0.

VEN- The Arabian clan vengeance is having a hard time at getting selected to the next stage. Having lost their first battle against EE they will be facing the Russian clan Ibiza on 07th of February at 16.30 GMT+0 . It should also be noted that their battle against the former star series clan CENTURION which was to be held on 27th of January is on a hold for some official reason.

That's the current situation of the 5 clans that are taking part at PRO series. Feel free to wish them good luck for the rest of their games, in their official clan pages at starladder through the links given above.
