[Issue 4] Nifty Forum Tricks! (TWG)

Recommended Posts

This is a simple guide about nifty tricks that you can use in the Forum!

1. Block out sections of the Forum that you might not read.

If you click on the '-' sign, it will block out that whole category.

By clicking the '+' sign, you can make it go back to its original state. This is handy if you don't read about Tanki's new Updates or other categories (not that I can find any reason to :P).

2. Find 'New Content' to look though recent posts in the Forum, New Topics, etc.

To do this, simply click on the 'View New Content' Button located in the top right corner of the Community Index OR simply click here.

This is what the icon looks like:

What the 'New Content' page looks like:

3. Use your Notification Log.

The Notification Log is one of the most handy things in the Tanki Forum and every Tanker must know how to use it.

The Notification Log is located here:

Once you click on the icon with the human on it, it will open up a page that looks something like this:

To activate your Notifications, you must go to Options then tick/untick what you want (each Tanker has different preferences but this is how I like it).

4. Quickly view Tanker's Content or quickly send them a PM by hovering over their name in the bottom of the Community Index.

For example, if I wanted to send a PM to , I would hover over his name in the section with the active Tankers, (NOTE: this only works if they have been active in the last 5 minutes) then click on 'PM this Member.' This is how it would look like:

5. View the replies in a Topic and how many posts each Tanker has posted in that specific Topic.

This is very handy if you want to see how many posts you have posted or how many posts a spammer someone else has posted in that topic. This is where it is located:

To view the amount of replies everyone has posted, click on the link with the number of posts in that topic.

This shows how many posts EVERYONE who has replied in that topic (even if it was just 1 post). In this image, it shows the Top 10 spammers Tankers that have replied in my Clan; Elite Night Hunters:

6. Filter out the Topics with the 'Recently Updated (default setting),' the oldest 'Start Date,' 'Most Replies,' 'Most Viewed,' or 'Custom,'

This is handy if you want to see which Clan is the oldest/has the most views/has the most replies or which clan had the most recent post. This is how it sorts it:

This shows that my Clan; Elite Night Hunters, has the fourth most replies out of all of the Tier 1 Clans.

This is a picture of the Filters:

7. Check out the Members List and filter Tanker's nicknames in Alphabetical Order/ see who are the biggest spammers of the Tanki EN Forum Community has the mosts posts in the Tanki EN Forum Community/see who was the latest edition to the Tanki Forum Crew.

This is how to open the Index:

Simply click on the 'Members' link.

The default setting will filter ALL of the Tanki Community's nicknames in Alphabetical Order:

You can also see who has the most posts in the Tanki EN Forum Community:

Wait, that's not it! You can also see which Tanker was the latest to join the Forum:

8. 'Follow' Topics and Forums.

First, I will explain what this does. 'Following' a Topic gives you an alert (in your Notification Log/E-Mail - depending on your preferences ticked in the Options Menu) whenever someone posts a new reply. 'Following' a Forum, gives you an alert (in your Notification Log/E-Mail - depending on your preferences ticked in the Options Menu) whenever someone posts a new Topic. For example, if you follow the "Developers' Information" category, it will give you an alert (in your Notification Log/E-Mail - depending on your preferences ticked in the Options Menu) whenever a Developer posts a new Topic regarding Tanki News or whenever the latest V-Log comes out. I would recommend following the Topics/Forums ;'News and Announcements,' 'Tanki Online Newspaper,' 'Tier 1/Tier 2 and Newcomers,' if you have a similar taste as I do.

To follow a Forum, click on the logo located at the top right corner of the Forum saying 'Follow this Forum,' then select 'Instantly.' This is what the logo looks like:
