Meltdown: The Terrortron's Secret

Who are you?” a man said, unaware of who he has faced. Pure darkness befell the room, making everything unclear - and only the sounds could help.

“I had a heart attack the other day. D’you remember that?” another replied, with an angry but calm voice, which had a touch of darkness within it.

“A relief that you survived that. Many don’t. Still, who are you?” the first asked.

“A relief? That I survived? YOU WANTED ME DEAD! You never thought what my family, my brother, wife, daughter, what would they have felt upon my death? And more than that, what do you think will your daughter think of you when she finds that you’re a criminal? You never thought even about her, eh? Just for an old family secret?” the other replied, enraged.

“What do you mean?”

The second man stabbed the man. He screamed, the natural one. And fell.

Undisclosed Location, Unknown Date.

“You know, you’ve never been a really good assassin. You couldn’t even be stealthy enough, we were able to see you from miles away! We’re really good actors, but seems like you won’t live to tell him that,” a person said, and then stabbed. Only the voice was to be heard till now, but with the scene clearing, it can be seen that there was no real stab.

“Why didn’t you stab me?”

“It’s a plot. Since they’re only able to hear the voice, I managed to deceive him. Tangent’s managed to disturb the voices enough for me to tell part of the plot. They’ll probably be hearing music right now, and once it’s solved, they’ll be hearing continual blasts. So, I intend on keeping hidden out as a tech support agent, while pulling the strings to Daffodil exposed or killed off. While, of course, also handling other cases. Time for the calls,” the reply came.

A few minutes later, they returned. However, this time, they heard a female cry. Then,

“Wait, what?”

The Main Scene, Terrortron’s Lab.

The windows were rattling, melting, exploding. The building was shaken a little bit, but it refused to fall. Then, gunshots through the broken windows. A few hit the team, but all deflected. They were all bulletproof.

“It’s time to move. I’ll get to Fireland, you guys get ready. We need to keep a close eye on Mr. Perfect Criminal. He’s likely somewhere here, but we can’t hunt, it’s too risky, and anyways it’s like finding a needle in a haystack. Let’s go, guys!” Melter said.

Fireland.

There, a man waited. A slight bruise or two on the right cheek, very much blue eyes, and overall a rather funny face. And of course, eyeglasses.

The place really was a park - Melter and the contact had just been fooling around with the name.

“Oh, hello, Melter. So, why are you here?” a  man came up.

“Sit.” Melter said. Then, quite unexpectedly, and very quickly, the scene changed. The bruises shot the man, eyeglasses sent messages and blue eyes helped. Then all of it vanished.

The man had a disguise - the bruises, eyes and glasses were all weapons.

“How are you even alive for the last ten years, Peter?” the other man, turning out to be Darren Foureth Thundell in disguise, asked in shock, now injured in his left leg.

Peter Stallinton was alive for the last ten years.

A few people came up to arrest, but by that time, Darren wasn’t there anymore.

“What? Where did he go?” Steve asked.

A paper lay near. Peter picked it up, reading aloud.

“The Secret of the Terrortron will never be forgotten. I will personally make sure no one forgets it.---Darren Foureth Thundell.”

“Wait, Secret of the Terrortron? Why would Darren chase some other family’s secret and try to keep it alive?” Steve asked further.

“That’s it. James was working on something big. Darren killed him for that. James’ death has got to be related to this secret.” Victoria concluded.

“Think we need to have another look at the lab,” Peter finished, telling aloud.

James Terrortron’s Laboratory.

“Oh, hello, guys. Welcome back. We’ve been working on what this secret is,” a voice much similar to Peter’s, said.

It was Hunter IV, Thomas Tanner’s own robot, having improved a lot in ten years. His voice, first of all, was very much like a human now. His body looked much better, with a smoother, sleeker grey and white design with occasional touches of red or black. He even looked more like a human now, and was much more like a human in abilities too.

From behind him came Thomas Tanner, another slim enough man wearing a completely black suit, with a round face that looked joyful, with one difference - he was also looking serious, yet seemingly in the mood for jokes.

“Oh, wow, Tanner, you’ve improved him a lot over the years. I’m sure this little bot here hides more secret abilities you’ve been installing. But, anyways, any news on what the secret might be?” Peter, amazed, exclaimed, and asked.

“Of course. One major thing is, James’ body isn’t here anymore. Either someone took it away, or he never died in the first place. Of course the latter seems more difficult to happen, but if it’s real, it’s far better, and exciting. Whatever the case, this could help us find what this secret is. I think James might have been on the verge of a breakthrough. Or, maybe, did he tell about his long family tree dating straight back to the first dates AD, all with the same ultimate surname?” Tanner replied.

“What? That means this could be historic. We are probably dealing with a secret dating back to two millennia! And if not, it’s still big. There must be clues here that could tell why Darren really attempted murder,” Steve exclaimed, voicing everyone’s thoughts, except Lucy.

“Think we already do have clues,” she remarked, bringing an expression of surprise on every face there.

She moved forward, picked some papers from a cupboard, and showed the team.

“James has been working on this for some time, and he states that the secret is much bigger than any of us. But wait, Project Meltdown? 2K5 Experimental? Project Square Diamonds?”

These few words changed the surprise into total shock.

“So, Darren’s intentions are probably supremacy, again,” Peter said.

“Not really. Even though this is indeed modern, it does indeed date back to the first few years AD. Darren’s probably after the stories of the first Terrortrons, possible treasures, and in the end, supremacy,” Lucy replied.

“Supposedly, yes,” a voice from behind called.

“David Terrortron? What are YOU doing here?” Steve called out, angrily.

“I suppose you didn’t realize I’m James’ brother, eh? And Lucy is right, that’s most likely what Darren intends to do. And yes, James is indeed alive,” the person, now identified as David Terrortron, replied.

“But what are Project Meltdown and the Square Diamonds to do with it?” Peter asked, amazed.

“Meltdown, to help with the mystery, and the diamonds probably date back to the first of our family,” Dave replied.

“Time to go find Darren. Tom, Dave, stay at tech support. We’ll split, follow Darren, solve this mystery and finish him off,” Peter ordered. “As for Darren, where is he?”

“Perfect Criminal at your service,” a voice called. Then, the building erupted into flames which quickly cooled down. Then, the building started to “melt”, as per Project Meltdown.

“Whew, help came at the perfect time. Thanks, Hunter! As for us, time to get up,” said Peter, as he jumped up, and got up the building. An aircraft was waiting above, and the team quickly made it in, and went out.

New York, United States of America.

“Oh well, I think we simply need to find Darren now before he does anything more. And I think he’s somewhere in this city. We will need more clues,” Peter now said.

“No need. You guys are done for. Good bye, everyone here,” someone said, a female voice.

“YOU?” Peter stared, shocked.

Darren came up forward. “Of course. We couldn’t have killed you guys without giving you a shock, could we have?”

Blackout.

A few sword voices.

Slain.

Scene opened, closed, opened, closed. Nothing detectable.

Except, a sword and a diamond.
