Who would've thought AWC would be such a success? Starting from the spring of the past year, we have seen a lot. From both helpers becoming admins, AWC writers joining the reporters, and a huge amount of writers that have been discovered. With all those superlatives, we now have the hard job, wrapping this year's output up in a single article.

So, are you ready?

Top 10 Articles of the Year:

This was an incredibly hard list to make, simply because there were a lot, and I mean, a lot of great articles that were written this year, and so narrowing down the top 10 was really, really hard to do. The writers of the articles will each get 30 000 crystals. Also, please note that any current reporters who have an article here won't get anything. With that said, here are the top 10 articles of 2016!

(Listed in alphabetical order)

1. A Letter that Traveled Through Time

by: @F.I.N.I.S.H.E.R

Bigtimerush_bry: An introspective piece by F.I.N.I.S.H.E.R that delivers a great story, truly worthy of a spot here on the best of the year. This description can't do it justice, so ro click on the link and start reading.

Yisroel.Rabin: Quite a deep one, yet it's understandable and, in a way, relatable. Besides the inspirational deep part, I also liked the way it was all written: as if it were actually a letter written for and to ones self. Nicely written, F.I.N.I.S.H.E.R.

2. All Kind: Interviews with the Pros

by: @Mr.Latvian

Bigtimerush_bry: The only article that was moved into an actual issue of the Newspaper, that alone puts it on this list. Even with that out of the way, it is an incredibly comprehensive interview with one of the most successful Esports team. It covers just about everything you can think of and more.

3. Flash Flood: A Review of Deck-9, Magadan, and Canyon

By: @Blackdrakon30

Bigtimerush_bry: Drakon chooses not to procrastinate on an article, but takes quite an initiative and churns out an article in about 12 hours (waw) after the update hit us, and it was quite an enjoyable article to read, not to mention that the article itself is quite informative.

4. Home

by: @tweezers

Bigtimerush_bry: Despite being an absolute nug, twee can certainly churn out some high-quality stories, to the extent that he was scouted out by the Newspaper team. A fantastic plot, strong characters, and much more create quite a story, the last installment in the series, it is certainly worth a read.

5. Just a Crosshair

by: @r_Masquerade2

Bigtimerush_bry: Needless to say, when we read this story, we were in shock. It was incredibly well formatted, interesting, and a fantastic story. There are a couple more installments, and hopefully more will show up in time.

Yisroel.Rabin: I like it because somehow, I actually felt like I was the guy in the story. It could be the usage of current tense, or it could just be me. It's a pretty good story, and I think it was written rather professionally. But knowing this guy, it could just be a massive inside joke I'm not getting.

6. Tanki Online: Top 10 Most Unique Maps

by:

Bigtimerush_bry: A unique article by Pdox ( :P) proves to be worth the read as he looks at the most unique maps in TO, and with 70+ maps, this was not an easy task. A bit less guide-y than a usual Pdox article, it pays off a bit, allowing a nice read that doesn't feel burdensome.

7. The Halloween Map 2016

by: @Viking4s &

Bigtimerush_bry: The map based articles are stacking up and we aren't even done yet. With both Viking and lux, they deliver an incredible article. This article looked so beautiful that before I even read it, I knew it would be placing here.

8. The Rebalance: Biggest Winners and Losers

by: @Jwimmer

Bigtimerush_bry: Um, read my description below.

9. The Ultimate Guide to Quitting Tanki

by: @Yisroel.Rabin

Bigtimerush_bry: A masterful satirical work that lands as the pinnacle of Yis' work in AWC. What makes this so amazing is actually how true it is, making it even more biting. He also was able to spread out the humor, if you will, in a way so that it feels fresh and original each time.

Yisroel.Rabin:
Had fun writing it ok, more fun than you had reading it

10. Under Review: Highways

by:

Bigtimerush_bry: Much editing, worth it, though.

Helpers Favorites:

If not already choosen above, the writers of these articles also get 15k

Bigtimerush_bry:

Choosing a single Favorite in the 16-page discography of AWC was really quite hard. Written shortly after the recent large balance update, Jwimmer effectively encapsulates the update in an easy to understand article without going into the nitty-gritty minute details. A solid article that holds up well and is still correct to this day.

DestroyerPdox:

Okay. Being honest, this wasn't easy at all. Just one article out of the plethora located in the AWS? Most would turn away. But, after hours of scrolling and clicking, I chose this as my favorite. Reason? Simple. This was one of the best written stories that pulled me in and kept me on the edge of my seat. Proper use of words, the suspense and horror, amazing flow of parts all helped in churning this article into a masterpiece. I have already read this three-to-four times now, and I enjoy it at the fullest. Amazing work Masq, keep it up!

GoldRock:
A Meeting with an Evangelist by @F.I.N.I.S.H.E.R

very thought-provoking piece on finding what matters most to you and keeping your inner flame alive. There are other, longer, more creative articles filled with pictures, videos, GIFs, and information, but sometimes it's good to just step back and reflect. It doesn't seem to have attracted a lot of attention, but this little gem really stuck in my memory more than any other piece in the Amateur Writing section. An inspiring message.

Shedinja:

This one in particular stuck out to me when I was checking through the Amateur's Writing section. I wasn't complaining much about the evisceration of Isida myself (despite being a frequent user of it), understanding some general points about why it needed to be done. However, @OneeSama takes the ambiguous idea behind the reasoning and widens it into multiple dimensions, expanding on the mechanics behind the medic role and the strides that the developers have taken to make it fit this role better.

Yisroel.Rabin:

I must say, as a person who typically writes humorous and satirical articles, I can see great potential arising from this recently started series. It isn't always easy, even for me, to write a nice, humorous yet unique piece, because as any humor writer knows, such things can't be forced - forced humor isn't ever funny (neither is this, but that's a different story). And because of that, I tremendously adore this series. Also, it hes guddest englishz and much not gremmir mostacks. Good job pieface, and good luck!

A prolific 2016 year, with a display of numerous inspirational texts.

A very useful and supporting club, without AWC, I would have probably never wrote again.

Cool beans.

Also, is the crystal reward a cheap way of getting tankers to join the AWS?  :P

No, it isn't. It is a recognition of those who written exceptionally. This is also the first time, to my knowledge, that we have given crystals to le AWC members.

The common, for a suffix "bry": abuse of knowledge and power to know what others don't, and then to say it in a "bragging-off" manner.

Patient diagnosed.

We decided to let other available (at the time) Reporters to scan the AWC for their choice and I'm pretty sure Shed made a great choice, considering how much of a technical guy he is.
