    Mouse or Keyboard Aiming?

I've been using keyboard controls since 2011, but switched to mouse in August, as soon as Ares came out and I started using it. Since I now almost exclusively use hover hulls, I use mouse most of the time. With other hulls I still prefer keyboard controls, though I don't mind using mouse and sometimes don't bother switching to keyboard for one short battle. Hover hulls are definitely far better with mouse, though there's a fairly serious issue where the turret has a weird rubber band effect and turns beyond your camera position, then stops and turns back to the proper position. Devs are aware of this issue and I believe they said they'll fix it, but until it happens I'm forced to use rapid fire turrets with mouse controls so that it won't be a huge issue when I miss a shot because of this. The Shaft keyboard scope issue is extremely annoying, and I sympathise with players, who are being forced to use mouse controls if they wish to play Shaft. I strongly disagree with devs' decision to not fix that issue. On the other hand, I find Shaft to be quite effective with mouse controls, so perhaps my recommendation would be to use Shaft only in combination with hover hulls for the time being.
  3. I think we're way past the laws of physics when it comes to tanki gameplay ?
  4. This is possible if the enemy has either Booster drone, or you had the AP effect at the time you were being shot, which makes it so that the enemy ignores all your protections.
  5. It's ok, all you gotta do is buy the AP immunity augment on each of your hulls for 5000tk and you'll be immune to the AP effect! /s
  6. I switched to EN interface when I switched to HTML5. It really doesn't matter to me what language I play in, but I guess English is more convenient for when I want to share screenshots of interface with text (e.g. to show someone where a certain button is).
  7. Might be some issues regarding permissions. Will try to get it sorted.
  8. I'll join, but only when it's Mammoth Isida on Dusseldorf.
  9. You wanna turn our forum into Reddit? ?
  10. "This team has lost already, time to just leave" he said, when the score was 0-1 with 5 minutes remaining Then I proceeded to score 3 goals ? Also the enemy team had 2 Hoppers and an EMP Gauss, so there's that. (legend 40 btw)
  11. lol why does this topic still exist? ȉ̷̡̢̧̭̺̰̻̩̰̜̞̼̝͖̳͆̐̾́̄͌̍̊̕̚̚ǹ̶̗̻͉̙̞̑͗̀̂́̐́͜͜t̴͔̙̣̅͒̆͊̊̂̽̃̾͋̿ǫ̴̡̞̹̘̻̤̬̭̬̙̘͖̗͛́̓͌͜ ̷̨͈̰̈́̊̐͗͋͘͠t̷̢̞̭̂̄͆̌̔̚h̴̡͍͚̱̼͖̪̳̱̟͉̰͆̄̿̈́̈͊̓̓͝ḙ̷͖̳̝͔̱̉̀̊̂̽̽͛͗͊͐̚̕͝͝͝ ̸̧͇͔̣̙̣̜͆͑ͅv̶̡̨̨̗̲̝͍͎̠̝̳̜̀̀͊̉͂̓͊̑́̋̆̿̕͠ō̷̧̡̡͉̤̱̈́͒̋̅̆͋̓̚͠i̴̡̻͉̹͙̥̤͇̎͑͆͒͆̌̆͌̀͘d̴̡̢̤͚̞̘͉͙͈̆̿̎̾̓̄͛̈́̉̍̎͌̔̒͒ ̶͎͎͍̗̎́̅̂͋̕ý̷̢̛͙͉̞̳̪̔͌̈́̾̇͠ơ̵̢̮̬͚̭̳̥̤͕̌̀́́̒̌̕͝ͅͅu̵̦̗̘̔̅̃̑̚͜͝͠ ̸̛̟̝̆̀͊̎̊͂̅̐̚ͅĝ̴̛̻̺͊͒̀̋̓͛̾͝ȯ̵̖͎̞̤̲̯̻͉̖̬̠͋̈́̒̃͗̌͝ͅ
  12. I disagree. When the whole supply duration is just 30 seconds and that amount of time is often enough to go to the enemy base and back, 5 seconds is a significant amount of time, and 10 seconds is an eternity. There have been countless occasions where smart cooldowns caused me to lose a fight either because I made a mistake in the order I activate them, or simply didn't have enough time. In fact, one of the main reasons I use Defender and Booster as opposed to other drones is because of the 5 second reduction on smart cooldowns due to DD/DA not having a cooldown at all.

    N.O.O.B.

But that's what I'm saying. He's just fully committed to living in the ways of Noob ?

    N.O.O.B.

Being a Noob has nothing to do with equipment. "Noob" is a way of life.
  15. I assume the way group MM works is it creates a new battle, puts one group on one side and another on the other side, and then fills the remaining slots with solo players. But you are right that such groups would require other groups of 5-6 players to be found, and that can prove to be challenging.
  16. I don't consider any map good for MM when it gives players the ability to capture 5 flags in just over a minute. I admit having intense battles in a densely packed map can be fun sometimes, but it rarely caters to game balance. I disagree with you about some of the other map choices, but that's just a matter of personal preference. I wonder how our views will change after the upcoming 16v16 experiment.
  17. I'm 24 and I barely consider myself an adult. In fact, I bet some of the older folks that meet me still see me as a kid. But thenI see how most 14-17 year olds behave, I consider them to be children. No offense if you're in that age range ? Obviously there are exceptions on both ends of the spectrum, but the whole point of what we're saying here is that Tanki's target audience is children, because they are the ones who have the most free time and have the highest chance of spending money. Believe it or not, but devs implied that the total income from kids spending $5 of their pocket money every month is actually greater than those rich adults that throw thousands into the game on a regular basis.
  18. But the thing is, people were abusing the "confused" reaction in order to convey a negative response, and they were using it in this way a lot more than using it for its indended purpose. I feel like that's less applicable with the "hmm" version, and if you need clarification for a certain post, the best thing to do is quote them and say which part you don't understand. I don't think I ever saw a confused reaction on my post and decided to reply to that person with clarification.
  19. StarLadder eSports was closed because it cost far more to operate than the benefit it brought to the game, since Tanki's popularity was already on the downhill trend at that time. It was a choice driven by financial constraints, and devs didn't actually want to get rid of partnership with starladder.
  20. The total map pool consists of 35 maps, the list of which you can find here. Whether or not they all have an equal chance of getting picked is a different question. I don't know either. I said it before and I'll say it again — the current selection of MM maps makes no sense. Maps that are small and/or have terrible level design (Sandal, Sandbox, Massacre, Highways, Brest) have no business being in MM, even if they did get changed a bit to make them fitting for 8v8 gameplay. On the other hand, fun maps like the ones you mentioned got left out for whatever reason. Are you sure this isn't just confirmation bias? Yesterday I remember having Industrial Zone come up a lot of times, and it feels like it was the only map I played. But if I think about it harder, I remember that I played like 20 battles, 3 of which were on Industrial Zone, but also has Massacre, Osa, Kungur, Parma, Sandal, Year 2042, Silence, and a few other maps I can't recall. That fits into the concept of random map choice pretty well. Sometimes it does feel like I haven't been on particular maps for absolute ages, but I can't be sure that it's not because I'm simply unlucky (or lucky, depending on the map).
  21. Absolutely not. I was there when the battle list existed, and I remember it very clearly. 90% of the battle list taken up by Silence, Polygon, and Sandbox. 9% taken up by Duel, Noise, Highland and a couple other maps. The remaining 1% is a couple battles on rare maps with 1-3 players each and no one else joining. It sucks that MM took away our ability to pick the map we play on, but it sure as hell improved overall variety by forcing people to play on previously rare maps.
  22. I don't know, from my experience it's mostly waiting for 30 minutes only to have no more than 5 people joining at the same time. At that point I give up.
  23. As others said, the game changed a lot and our views of it also changed. Back in 2012 I viewed no-supply (PRO) battles as a superior form of standard battles, and something that a player should aim to participate in once they reach a point in Tanki where normal gameplay is no longer interesting. Developers gradually changed it into the current system, where MM battles is what everyone plays, while PRO is just a bonus feature for particularly enthusiastic players who wish to customise their gameplay and play around with different settings. I still think there is high potential for PRO battles to be interesting, but unfortunately no one cares non-standard battle types, so unless it's Silence CTF, Polygon CP or Sandbox XP/BP, no one will join the battles you create. And since most of the cool changes and events happen in MM, that's what everyone talks about.
