  1. Way more logical. Not sure if my maths is correct, but this would mean that the English V-Log would need 180 epsiodes to catch up. If we say that there is one episode per week (which is not true), it would mean 180 weeks, so a total of 3.5 years of one episode every 2nd week for our Russian friends. That is... not very efficient, if you ask me.

    Fix the tanks that fly

I just don't see pressing a single key, without really thinking about it, just to escape a lost position - potentially changing the whole outcome of a battle - as normal gameplay. I play lots of 2v2s, XP/BP obviously, and sometimes it happens that players make mistakes, get shot for it and self at the best possible timing, just to not have to deal with the health advantage the opponent has. Making that mistake and getting shot for it is obviously your fault and if you intend to play fair, you have to play this situation out, and not cowardly escape it by selfing. It is not fair towards the opponent who got the advantage by actually fighting for it, it has nothing to do with playing competitive and it completely obstructs the game's flow. Before people say "uhh camping has the same effects" - first of all, the camper has to fight to get into that position, and you can actively prevent him achieving that by killing him. Meaning you can do something against it. However, if your opponent is selfing to even out the field after having made a mistake, you can do nothing against it and have to deal with him again once he's respawning full life. Your advantage is gone, just like that. This I just see as cheating; not normal gameplay. You may agree with this or not, up to you. In matchmaking it may not be as noticeable if a single player is selfing, but in small battles, you're able to change the entire outcome by selfing just once. Like, imagine playing League of Legends, making a mistake costing you 70% of your life, and then you just run away and kill yourself to not give your opponent gold and a kill. Sorry, but I find that ridiculous. It's your fault you got into that position, you have to live with it.

    Increase of ping

My ping is also constantly 51, usually it's way lower. I don't think it's us. It's the servers, and for us there is not much to do about it. I'm sure our devs are working on it, but well ?

    Fix the tanks that fly

I don't know why you're so obsessed with what Spy provided, as it clearly lacks context. If you search for "cheating in video games", look at what is coming up: Literally the same I said in "my" definiton - because you know what - that's just common sense. If you camp, it does not go beyond normal gameplay, so it just is not cheating. Or would you call Shaft players cheaters? Shaft is supposed to act as a sniper rifle which is a fact, and sniper rifles are made for their user to stand still in cover, so they can kill opponents over a long distance. So by your definition (your definition by the way), that calls campers cheaters, is someone using Shaft a cheater? With sniper rifles you just don't go around 360 noscoping everyone, but you CAMP. IT IS NOT CHEATING. I doubt that selfing, the way people do it right now, used to be intended, as the game is literally punishing you for selfing (losing score, losing kills). If it indeed is allowed in esports (I'm not familiar with their rules), I would personally find it very questionable, as such a brainless "strategy" has no buisiness in something that is skill related. To me it is cheating and it will always be, but yeah, that does not matter here, I give you that. Again - arguing with the common sense - this can only be wrong. Are you even familiar with what long range weapons, with long reload times, are made for? Exactly, for standing behind, in cover and for killing people over a long distance. These weapons are literally designed for their user to camp, in order to be used efficiently. So would you call these players cheaters or what? Sorry, but that makes no sense at all. I don't know what there even is to argue here. Should maybe return to the actual point of this topic.

    Fix the tanks that fly

To me cheating contains the use of scripts, exploits or the use of mechanics in a way they're not intented to be used. When the devs decided to add a way for a tank to destroy itself, I'm pretty sure it was intended to be used when people are flipped or whatever so they could come back to playing. However, people self when they're low life and in a good situation to do it, just to regain full life and to not give their opponent any advantage; this I would say is using selfing in a way it was not intended to, so I would consider it as cheating. If you are just standing behind a house and waiting for people to push you, you are not using any scripts to achieve it, it's not an exploit and standing behind this house is not an unintended mechanic. If it was, the house wouldn't be there. So you're not cheating when you're camping. And if you keep dying over and over again to someone who is waiting for you in cover because you're always trying the same thing to finally kill them, I would say that it simply is a skill issue. The camper is doing nothing wrong, but you are.

    Fix the tanks that fly

Come on, XP/BP is an absolute lag fiesta where blocking people is literally impossible. Everyone just climbs over you or even dead tanks. I am a low ping XP/BP player, and people always glitch through me, no matter if I use Hornet or Wasp. Have to admit that using Hornet does seem to make it a bit easier to glitch through others, though. I wouldn't say that camping is cheating either. Personally, I consider things like selfing and so on as cheating in XP/BP, but camping is sadly, just a valid strategy. Blame the game, not the players ?
  8. May be fun to play with friends, but if you join a public XP/BP with hopper everyone will hate you. I would hate you too. Hopper may be a light hull, but its play style is completely different to Hornet and Wasp, so it just doesn't fit. It deserves to be removed, and honestly, it's very questionable why it was even added. Pretty sure that just that 1% of trolls "like" Hopper in XP/BP. Currently, the tanks in XP/BP are not equal. The only stats that are equal are HP, damage and reload - movement is not equal; Mk1 has Mk1 movement stats, Mk2 has Mk2 movement stats etc. So, at the moment, you will have an advantage with Mk7 over people who don't have it. Anyway, being someone who has been playing XP/BP for over a decade, I'd love Mk7+ to be added, as it being faster than stock Mk7 would also make XP/BP a bit more difficult to play. Wouldn't really like every Mk to have the same stats tho, because playing with lower Mk's against Mk7s is fun sometimes. Maybe add a checkbox for enabling micro upgrades or something? But yeah, in general, I'd like it. This would probably even get me to play matchmaking more than just once a year, since I would have to max out my stuff ?
  9. Unfortunately, I don't think that posting about it in the forum will really help you in your case. The only people who can help you get your account back are the ones from the support team. All there is to do is to wait it out I guess, and sending them new mails if it's taking way too long, like you did already.
  10. Wonder why Ansu Fati got the chance to play and scored a goal for Barcelona against Inter Milan in the Champions League at just 17 years old. Maybe because he was better than the more developed 30 year old players? Yeah, absolute nonsense. I wonder what would happen to games such as CS:GO, Valorant or League of Legends, if you removed anything related to skill based matchmaking. Makes me think that you have no clue of anything related to matchmaking outside Tanki. Sure, compare it to Tanki X, which was at least twice as dead as TO currently is. Curious why it didn't work out in that game. I have agreed countless times that GS based would probably improve the situation, but it is not the fix we are all waiting for. Teams will still end up being unbalanced, just as much as they are now because it will be the same players, and players will still say "matchmaking sucks". MM will not be fixed until everything around matchmaking is fixed (ranks/upgrades/drones etc), and I just don't see that happening. That would require Tanki Online 2.0 or sum. You can't tell me that all 9999 players are godlike creatures. Whenever I join matchmaking with my heckin Shaft, Wasp and Brutus combination, which sum up to a total of 8000 GS, I manage to get in the top 3 in like 80% of the matches, which is ridiculous. In the enemy team then there are always 9999 players who finish with a D/L of like 4/10 in the bottom half of the scoreboard. So what if it's GS-based, what will this 9999 player do? Enough of them struggle already against people who are not maxed out, wonder how they will do against an enemy team that is fully, or almost fully maxed out. You just can't balance that with such simple tweaks. Besides, could you not trick GS-based MM by joining with weaker equipment and switch to something stronger when loaded in? How would you handle that?
  11. So why is it now not just unlucky when a team wins 10:0? Why does it have to be GS-based for it to be unlucky..? I don't see how a match full of random 9999 players would reduce the chance of that happening. How do you know that? It's not skill-based, a random dude will join and probably leave again ? Obviously, at some point it will never be fair as the difference is a bit too extreme. But how do you want to change the fact that there are not enough 200 GS players? What is this 200 GS player supposed to do when searching for a match, wait for hours until a 6v6 is filling? Putting them into a 1v1 then or whatever when someone is eventually found is also ridiculous, sorry. Bots will hopefully fix low ranks problems. Also, why could someone not change to a mk1 combination reducing his GS to a minimum to manipulate the whole thing, just to switch to 9999 when loaded in? You could match players based on the maximum achievable GS they have in their garage, but this is also problematic, because what if that player wants to play a weaker combination? He would still be matched against 9999.
  12. I don't know how you guys don't get this, ranks and GS mean literally nothing. Let's say we have a 6v6 consisting of 12 9999 GS Legends. If you completely ignore the skill factor, games such as CTF can and will end up finishing like 10:0 flags for a team because the players in it are just better. Where is the balance? How is it fair? Now imagine before the game started, the team that previously won didn't have 9999 GS players but weaker ones that know how to play the game, so they are pretty much on equal ground with the other 9999 GS team. It would be way harder for the team consisting of better players to win 10:0. Do you not see this as a flaw in the GS-based matchmaking? How is skill the fly here and not GS?
  13. I don't know for how long you have been playing Tanki, but I have been around since 2011 and have played years of normal battles before matchmaking was introduced. Teams ended up being as unbalanced as now since it happened that one team had buyers, these buyers made everyone in the other team leave which then ended up losing, no one would join the losing team anymore and it was GG. Buyers ended up climbing the scoreboard to first, got all the funds - literally the same as now. If you don't believe me, then well, there is nothing to say here anymore ? I wouldn't worry about the skill factor either since the game is dead, but it would actually be the only fix. Smaller GS gaps do sound good, but I guarantee you, teams will still be unbalanced and it won't change as much as you think.
  14. Again - I wouldn't say that the devs didn't do a very good job on the MM system, that's wrong in my opinion. Everything around matchmaking is just broken, causing matchmaking to be bad. I have played a lot before matchmaking was introduced, the situation was just as bad. What I mean by it wouldn't make it more fair is that less players doesn't mean that there is a smaller difference in skill. Teams would still get to be as unbalanced as they are now, not changing anything. If you get to destroy a 9999 GS legend in a couple of minutes because he's bad, or a 4000 GS Lieutenant, doesn't really make a difference to me. But I agree that it would maybe improve the situation, 10v10 or whatever they have now is ridiculous anyway and battles take way too long.
  15. Exactly this is what all of you are getting wrong: ranks are an outdated concept that does NOT represent how you play, if you are a so-called "Legend" it does NOT mean that you are good at the game. There are countless lower ranked players that outperform Legends in any way. You get to play in the Premier League because you're good at football, not because you have a title just because you've been at it for a long time. The same applies to GS. In XP/BP, where everyone is restricted to use anything but Railgun and Hornet/Wasp, I can easily beat Mk7 players with just Mk3. Matchmaking is obviously a bit more extreme, but why do you not think that something similar can apply to MM as well? If you were to fill a game with just random 9999 GS Legends, there is a good chance half of them will have no idea how to play, because that is just how it is currently. A team will still stand out, still dominate and still completely trash the other team, just like what is happening now. If you manage to win a battle against 9999 GS Legends in two minutes, or against lower ranks, makes no real difference to me, so it would still not be fair/still as random. And if you lower the amount of players, how would that make the game more fair? I agree that it could become more enjoyable, but less players also means that individual performance is a way more important factor. A SINGLE player who is just better because the other "Legends" don't even turn their turret would have it even easier than now to win the battle alone. You're telling me people wouldn't leave anymore, the battle wouldn't die and need to search for new players and not find them, because there are too many restrictions? I don't see rank-based matchmaking change much as ranks mean nothing. GS-based sounds better to me as well, but still, it would not make the game fair, as there are 9999 GS players who are 9999 times worse than other 9999 GS players, and THIS is the problem. It will not be fair until it's skill-based, and skill-based is sadly not possible due to too low player numbers. We should first wait for the devs to add bots, and see if they change anything. In general, I do agree that GS-based matchmaking could improve the situation, but still, it will not make everything fair. You have to match people by skill to make it fair.
  16. Maybe read what I wrote there, OP quoted me already. What I meant with increasing queue times in this topic is that if any of the restrictions that were mentioned (I didn't read all the pages, mainly the first one) were implemented, it would lead to longer queue times. If the devs were to implement a fixed rank gap of let's say 2, it would make it almost impossible for lower rank players to find a game at specific times, like during european nighttime => longer queue times. If you get to choose the map you want to play, there would be a smaller amount of players available to join your map => longer queue times. Players get to decide if they want to join a battle or not => they spend more time searching for battles, more battles end up dead and even more unbalanced. "Fixing" matchmaking is not as easy as all of you think, and reducing team sizes will sadly not be the miracle all of us tankers have been waiting for (read what I posted in the other topic). What you should do is look at why matchmaking is bad, and that is because the game, outside of matchmaking, is outdated and followed too many silly trends; to put it short, flawed.
  17. Personally, I would also shrink the teams to maybe a 6v6 as that's (I think) the current tournament standard and also decrease the duration to 10 minutes + a couple seconds as prep time. It would probably make the game more enjoyable, but not really more fair, as it would still not be skill-based. I don't even think that the current matchmaking is bad or something, but rather that everything around it, such as ranks and how you progress - so basically the whole game - is simply flawed. A smaller ranks gap will get you nothing. Even if you have a lobby full of 9999 GS legends, half of them will still be total buffoons who know nothing about the game, leading the team with more bad players to still be totally dominated. So here, the problem is not the matchmaking, but that it's not skill-based and that the current ranks are a totally outdated concept, which is in fact the one devs came up with 14 years ago or even more. I think the devs themselves mentioned in some V-Log that they didn't think they would make it this far, and that the current ranks are indeed an outdated concept. The way you progress/upgrade your tank is also totally flawed. Unless you rework the whole thing, I also don't think you can make matchmaking more fair. But talking about this would go beyond the scope of this discussion. To conclude, I still don't see how you can make it fair without having it skill-based. And for skill-based, it's unfortunately too late.
  18. You can't balance matchmaking that is not skill-based, especially not with such a small player base. Any kinds of restrictions to the current matchmaking system will drastically increase queue times, and players will just start complaining again. Yes, a lieutenant should not be matched against legends, obviously. But this is happening because there are just not enough players queuing for a lieutenant to fill an entire match. What do you want them to do, wait for 30 minutes, perhaps hours in queue to find a game? Make them stop playing because they can't find a match with players on their rank? That's also pointless. Skill-based matchmaking should have been added years ago, it would have easily made the game face fewer problems nowadays, and I bet that the player base would have also been bigger. But now, I don't see how you can "fix" matchmaking without increasing queue times noticeably.

Why do tanks move on top of each other?

I feel like ever since the game switched from Flash to HTML5, there have been all kinds of problems related to tank-to-tank interactions. Pushing became impossible as you always clip into the other tank, so blocking is also not possible. And now, with the new HD models, you can't even stay on top of someone, as you will slowly start falling into them at some point. It's ridiculous. Hitting doubles also became very hard ever since they switched. When you shoot an opponent who is at the same height using Railgun for example, your shot doesn't go straight. It goes down a bit, as it seems that turrets aim for the center of the opponent's hull. So, as you can imagine, this makes it almost impossible to hit people who are standing in a line, as your shot lands in front of the guy who is standing behind their teammate, not hitting him. In Flash however, the shot just went straight, hitting everyone who was standing in a line. But in HTML5 it feels like 1 out of 5 shots do that. So hitting doubles is also completely broken. To answer your question, looks like it's just ping-related, but also game-related issues as well. All we can do is hope for the devs to address these problems I guess ?
  20. Man, I hope you give us a switch or something when creating pro battles, making us enable mobile players to join or not. There's already enough "players" (not sure if they're actually players at this point, feels like you guys are experimenting with bots in pro battles already) who completely ruin the experience of everyone due to their lack of skill. I feel like mobile players would just take that to the next level with their floating hulls ?

    6-DIGIT CODE

2FA can't be accidentally enabled without knowing that you're doing it, as it's not done just like that. If the account you're on requires you to enter the 2FA code, it means you enabled 2FA, you know that you enabled it and you should know where to find the code and most importantly what it even is. However, you not even knowing what that code is, makes me think that the account you're talking about is not yours. In case it indeed is your account, you probably have to mail help@tankionline.com and talk with them about your problem.
  22. Son_Goku

    shut it down.

It is not that simple. To me, this looks like something that is out of their control that needs a proper solution to be fixed, nothing you can achieve just like that. So saying that "the servers are just bad" is simply wrong, knowing the current circumstances. Also, when the game runs it's running fine (I used to have ping issues recently which are server-sided issues for pretty much the first time in over a decade, but these seem to be gone for now). There is constant disconnecting, yes, but again, this seems to be something that is out of their control.
  23. Son_Goku

    shut it down.

I feel like Tanki is just getting another wave of DDoS attacks due to obvious reasons we can't talk about here. Shutting the servers down for a longer period of time won't do anything, sadly. Especially when major events are announced which are likely to attract a lot of players (=when Tanki generates more revenue), I can imagine that people put way more effort in attacking the servers to cause even more damage. Big games also suffer from these attacks sometimes, so there's probably not much a smaller game like Tanki can do against them. What us players can do though is just hope that what is going on in the world currently settles, I guess. Until then, I don't really think that this will stop ?
