Story [Issue 20] If Drugs Were Illegal, Segment 6: The Conclusion
GoldRock replied to jokjinari in Newspaper Archive
Pure awesomeness. One of the best series in the history of the Tanki newspaper, finally brought to an outstanding end. The style of your writing in this series is definitely not something I'll be forgetting any time soon... it really is perfect for the plot. A great example of how to use writing style in an effective way to enhance a storyline. Amazing stuff, sad this'll be the last of the series, and I hope you'll consider trying something like this out again. Because you're really very good at it. -

All plagiarised - just Google the first few lines of each <_< Sort of expected better from abusufian and samsondsouza... Hats off to for a great (and completely legit) entry, and to for his garlic bread awesomeness. -
Ah, I was missing that code. Thanks!

My Biology homework: I personally think it's a privilege that I get to learn about evolution as part of my national curriculum. Whether or not you agree with such a theory, it's always a good idea to actually try and learn about it or understand it before jumping to conclusions. Funnily enough, since we've received a thorough education on the subject, every single student in my class (religious or non-religious) acknowledges evolution as the most accurate theory we have for the development of organisms on Earth, because we actually understand what it is. So, clearly, the majority of the 82 people here who voted no need to sit through a couple of Biology classes on the matter before just saying "I'm religious", without even trying to understand that it's a theory that can work in conjunction with religion, or what the theory actually is.

Ah, thanks for that - nice way to answer my question xD

Review [Issue 20] Chronicles of a Newbie - January
GoldRock replied to Lhamster in Newspaper Archive
Awesome stuff. I like the differences in approaches, with more detailed individual accounts supported by a collection of screens from Lham, and a concise diary style of writing with visual summaries for each day covered from Raph. Adds some great variety to this series, and I'm liking the casually competitive aspect of it too :P -
^So you were... why didn't I pick up on that? Wasn't really paying attention *facepalm* Still, my response stands! No wonder I couldn't find anything there. Thanks for that... Now I just need to find the next bit of the puzzle. Might as well ask: is it another article I should look for here, or is it something else?

Upon seeing this, I initially thought "Ah, another one of these... maybe they're dragging on a bit?". However, as I read it, I realised that it was actually really interesting, original, and excellently written, and I was just about forming an overall (very postive) verdict when I reached the end. The end. I just feel that the ending used here has very little relevance to the story itself; you build up and develop a series of events only to go "actually the paint Desert was added because he was a soldier in the Middle East some years ago". Kind of frustrating, disappointing, underwhelming... feels like a brilliant story cut short, if I'm honest. I know that you were trying to round the story off, but I personally don't think you did it in a very suitable way. Other than that, I'm very impressed by the rest of it - nicely done.

Just felt like being nice, and it doesn't make much difference, since I'm stuck beyond there anyway. In any case, if I could get that step first, it's likely I can be the first to get the next one.

Story [Issue 20] Diabetic Tanker, Journal Pt. 1
GoldRock replied to SpreadLoveNotHate in Newspaper Archive
Tenses are fine (so looks like that issue has been completely sorted), and I really like the way you make your stories more realistic, and still relate them to Tanki. You've got a very unique writing style too which focusses on the main character and his thoughts/feelings, and I think this in particular is extremely effective. Combine that with a great (and original) idea, and hey presto, you've got an exceptional story. Excellent job, definitely looking forward to the next one in the series. -

Awesome - I'll be giving this one a shot for sure :P -
Top-notch article once again hog, a hilarious read with the humour used being spot-on as usual. You're really doing an awesome job with this series! If you must put a statue up, make sure it's Gold *ba dum tss* Sir GoldRock... that nickname

OK, so I found this: Says "dl-protect" in the top-left, in case you're wondering. Can anyone see any clues here? http://en.tankiforum.com/index.php?showtopic=115614&hl=bird That article was edited by Raph just before this quest was posted, and mentions Sandbox.

Nope.

Awesome stuff, I like the work you've been doing in regards to discussing maps ;) I voted Colonel, yes to the Generalissimo map, and quality - Colonel seems about the right rank to unlock the last map, the Generalissimo map would be a great incentive as you said (but it'd have to be unique in a good way), and I tend to stick to the same few maps depending on the quality of gameplay they offer.

Well, it would have been clear it was a deliberate over-exaggeration had you said "half of your posts" or "most of your posts". However, you quoted a specific figure as a proportion, which made it seem as though you were trying to be precise, rather than trying to exaggerate. Although it was me being a little technical, too... :P

No. They're my Heroes, not yours. *grabs Heroes back*

1/3 of my posts would be roughly 1250 of them. I think the figure is actually around 10 to date, you know  And I can't really answer that question without publicly discussing mods' actions.
