Closing Topics Prematurely Enfuriate Tanki Customers - Stop It!

That's so heartening to read! Respect to you. Tanki has a product it wishes to sell and I think it is a great product which is why I have spent lots of my spare cash on the game buying upgrades. That makes me not just a player, but a customer. I'm a field service engineer at work and I have many customers that I bend over backwards to please and keep happy - they spend more money that way. Denying them service (banning them) for whatever reason will end up with me losing them. Although it might irritate me, I'm not going to moan at them for not reading the user manual (rules) or for asking questions that have been asked by others 1000's of times (flooding), I'm going to treat each one as if it is the first time I've heard the question, finishing off with, "Anything else I can help you with". It's customer service - not rocket science. This is not to say that the customer is always right. As KiwiZaphod says, you can't have them swearing at you so some rules are needed, but as the service provider, you can be a punching bag at times so you grin and bear the brunt of it. In work, we have something called Feedback Analysis. Mine is mostly positive because I take pride in what I do. If I get negative feedback, I want to know what I did wrong so that my next encounter with that customer will be a happier affair. Having disgruntled customers is no good for anybody. Let's say the customer leaves negative feedback that I don't happen to agree with, I don't tell them that I don't agree for whatever reason and close my ears to further comment (close the topic). We talk about it politely then decide I was right ;) (kidding). Tanki's forum rules are not conducive to customer satisfaction and they're not doing staff any favours because they will inevitably be cast in a bad light simply for doing their job. Here's hoping there is a willingness to find a happy medium soon. -

I asked Semyon about this is a pm. I was worried about being banned if i expressed criticism as I read that rule you mention. The reply was "Criticism is not against the rules, it's a good thing and very important for us." - I'm guessing now that he meant, 'privately expressed criticism'. I would like to think that tanki staff take something from this topic as the overwhelming feeling amongst players is one of discontentment with regard to the forum, the feedback site and the rules that staff have to follow. Thanks for making an exception and allowing this topic to go on. Best// -

So who decides what is worthy enough and what is illustrious enough to be accepted here? Close a topic that means nothing to you and you won't think twice. Close a topic that meant a lot to the person who posted it and they're left unappreciated, angry, upset, infuriated, isolated etc... Yeah, like I did that once or twice only for the moderator to lock that side of it too making it doubly annoying. When I first tried to post to feedback, the link I was given was all in Russian, I had to use Google translate to try and figure out where to post. I ended up posting my idea in a reply to someones comment. I've tried to repost it ever since in points and fund but it never shows up. The titles, the times etc are still in Russian. It's not designed for English speaking people. Posts are not real time. It should be fixed or scrapped and I prefer the latter. If anyone is interested in helping me get my idea to the right place, please show your willingness here. -

HI Semyon, I think that the Feedback Site still has merit. I'm not suggesting we bypass it altogether, merely use discussion here to better ideas before they're finally submitted to Feedback, where, as you rightly point out, they can be voted on and discussed further if required. The main reason for discussion here is, I feel for one and I'm sure there are plenty like-minded players, that Feedback site seems too third-party and unfrequented compared to the larger crowd that attend here. My gripe was not just about Feedback. It's about General Discussion on anything tanki. If there's no reasonable time for discussion, then I'm sure many will feel disappointed and put off joining in. It will certainly have that effect on me. Cheers -

Yes, exactly. Any old idea currently hits Feedback but surely we want the best and well thought out ideas. Ideas that have been discussed at length, here, in a well populated forum. Doing so gives the player a sense of community and a sense that Tanki is their game and they're contributing. Proponents want instant responses, not some tumbleweed blowing through a remote, dusty, old, unfrequented webpage that is devoid of life. So what if new players come in and regurgitate the same old ideas, they're new and Tanki wants to keep them playing so look after them and don't discourage them. And proof is in the pudding. I started this thread with a criticism and I wasn't able to write down or put in to words everything I wanted to say. Thanks to discussion from fellow members other valid points have been raised and noted. Important points that would have otherwise been left by the wayside. Discussion works. -

That makes sense. Answer to question, topic closed (as long as the answer is the right one). But what about the case of the player who composed a lengthy piece with, "I'm posting this here becouse I want a real good discussion and opinions about this", in the opening line? If that was me having my topic closed in the way that is was (and I've been there), I would be left deflated and infuriated at the same time. It's like you're not listening. There is hardly any point in taking part if we're not listened to. I know you have rules to adhere to but just sometimes, threads sometimes need a little space for ideas to formulate and blossom which might benefit everyone in the long run. This simply isn't allowed to happen. By the sound of other voices in this topic, I reckon I'm not alone with these feelings. Maybe a sea change is order with regard to the forum and its rules. No hard feelings mods. You're appreciated even if that doesn't always come across. -

Hi, I would hope that it stays open long enough for players to contribute and expect it to be closed after a reasonable period of inactivity, pointless or not. If someone posts something that they think is meaningful then courtesy and respect should be the order of the day. Sometimes, players just want to chat to other players and discuss elements of the game or rant about other aspects of tanki and the wider community. Not everything has to be answered and closed straight away and a moderators involvement in it, although welcome, is not required or even desired in many cases. -

I used to check in daily and read the forum but I got so disillusioned with the place I had to quit. Now I might view every so many weeks. One of the main reasons for this was this practice of prematurely closing threads created by people who genuinely want to take part and engage others in the Tanki Online community, to discuss and thrash-out ideas they have that may or may not, improve game enjoyment. Now what tends to happen when someone submits an idea for discussion is they are told to submit there idea to Feedback and thread is closed. Here is a recent example, http://en.tankiforum...howtopic=174984 and by 21:06 it was CLOSED. While I understand that the Feedback site has to the capacity to carry discussion, with all due respect, everyone (minus a few) believe the feedback site to be dead and even if, now and then, ideas do get read and acted upon, very few players visit with enough frequency with the intention of discussing submitted ideas. Meanwhile, the proponent certainly isn't going to wait for a month of Sundays for reaction so they'll figure, Why Bother! The customer above must have spent some time composing his post only for it to be shot down in flames. This after they specifically requested some "real good discussion", probably in order to hone and better their thought before submission to feedback. All this proves that mods here still have some learning to do and have to stop acting like overzealous dictators pressing the big red Close Topic button on their keyboard before the day is out. I did complain to Semyon about this and I was assured that the forum is for "us" and we shouldn't be afraid to make our feelings known, voicing our criticisms of Tanki and it's current practices. Rant over. Enjoy your Sunday. Regards to all. -
Actually, given the context, the word should be "don't" and not "won't"

So they leave my feedback on the feedback site and mark it declined. They don't silence dissenters kgb style by removing their voice. I thought those days had gone. Obviously not.

Just an update on this. I checked today and it is no longer awaiting moderation. You know why? Because they've deleted it again! So don't bother Mods telling us to go to feedback if staff are just going to delete posts we make. I can't tell you have mad this makes me. You try and be part of the community, you try and contribute only for some dictator somewhere to wipe away your ideas and hard work. Well sod it tankionline. PM me if you want to make things right. Otherwise sayonara!

Dear Vladimir, Tanki kept tht quiet. Change for the better is always welcome but I'm sure there'll be many of us who have made purchases recently. Would Tanki do the moral and honourable thing and apply the bonus to, say purchases made in the last 30 days? You could do it on an ad hoc basis where players could apply by writing to help@tankionline.com - It would be a good PR move. Hope you respond.

So why do players make a takeover for large funds? Lets say the fund 10,000 crystals. At best, the top player of a drugged fueled team might get 2000-3000 crystals reward. They had to have been constantly drugging for 30mins for that reward, lets say 1xhealth, 1xarmor, 1xpower and 1xnitro per minute. That's 300 crystals per minute. Multiply that by 30 and you get? That's right, 9,000 spend to gain 3,000 max crystals. Net loss of.... Bingo..... You've got it..... 6,000 crystals. Take any prize from the bottom shelf. All you done is succeeded in ruining game play for others and denying them the opportunity to earn the crystals they tried so hard to achieve. So what's the crack if you pardon the pun? Tanki Conspiracy I hear people shout. Surely not! The dice can't possibly be loaded. Then you'd vote this up one day.

I've just got around to watching the original this week. Very, very good. I've not watched the prequel ones yet. Hoping for a number VII.

Now that's what I call a close encounter! :D -

So to improve team kick, votes need to be carried over should a player leave with votes against them and they rejoin the same battle. Either that or they're not allowed to rejoin.
-
I can see you have a point with BARBICAN but why Rashid97? His score is quite respectable for his rank given the high ranking opposition.

Just a play on words. Not immature at all. I suppose a titan would be a Titty. Now that's immature!
