He's not even Indian... So if you've got nothing against Indians, why use it in that insulting context? Also, the length of time someone's been around the forums for doesn't determine how good a community member someone is. And he's allowed to downvote your posts if he disagrees with their content. It would seem his posts are more generally more constructive, helpful and friendly than yours anyway, so... Next time, if you want to insult someone, do it through PM. That way, you'll only have one person laughing at your maturity level.

The right balance of work and procrastination is productive ok.

None of the guesses made so far are correct.

Not quite - whilst that fits the 'blood' criteria, that's doesn't really indicate 'gushing' of any sort, and the numbers are not accounted for. Also note that I never actually use words in the username within clues.

Oh wow... Next time, Raph, I'd recommend ending the contest and closing this topic once five players have done the contests. Scrap the 5k crystals for everyone idea, it's not worked IMO due to people abusing it. That's their own fault if it gets removed. Also, forbid the first five from entering alts (i.e. ignore entries which are made on another account owned by the same player). For example, next time it could work like this: 1st: GoldRock 2nd: GoldRock2 - entry disqualified due to alt 3rd: GoldRock3 - entry disqualified due to alt 2nd: gazatron30 3rd: canadarules 4th: eragon33 5th: BlackBandit - entry disqualified due to alt 5th: XtremeXecution *contest closed and topic locked at this point*

Agreed with what you've said here, and thanks for expanding on that point. Ah well, at least there aren't any more Bushes for now ^_^

It was an hour and a half actually, but close enough :P

I wasn't referring to just the Bible there. There are better religious texts that that one... Good luck on becoming a doctor.

OK then...

Shame to see you go. Yes, but we don't need someone to shout "Oh look here's a rule breaker!" every time a rule is broken. It's like shouting "That house is being robbed!" if you're witnessing a robbery. Obviously, that's completely useless, and it would be a lot more sensible if that person called for the authorities to deal with it (or in this case, used the Report feature, which is there for a reason).

Correct, clue updated.

Thanks mods for all the hard work you put in.

Well, the British Empire was pretty large at one point (and yes, I'm British :P ). I wouldn't call that a "flexing of the muscles" by the US, I'd call that "unnecessary bloodshed for political gain". Without getting too politically involved, I'd argue 9/11 was sort of used as an excuse, a trigger used to achieve certain selfish goals. The War on Terror was much more than just a war on terror, in other words - there were obviously other goals.

Agreed with the points made here.

Well, I agree that (in my view) Genesis is pretty redundant for the reasons you gave... but the Bible itself does cover issues of morality and so on, which does give it some worth. And the parables it contains are especially thought-provoking at times. So I wouldn't say the Bible is useless; it's important to us due to its status, its history, and the moral issues it covers.

To give an example, rather than taking the literal idea that the world was created in 7 days from Genesis, you could interpret the days as representing longer periods of time. That would actually make sense, considering the rough order of creation in Genesis is water, then plants, then animals, then humans...
-
Yes, that's completely true.

Correct bro, clue updated ok.

Well, let's face it - if you're a fundamentalist/creationist, then you've kind of misunderstood the way in which your religion was meant to be taken. Liberalism is the way forwards for religion - not everything in religious texts should be taken literally, but rather a deeper meaning should be sought. Agreed; it seems as though there are simply a lot of people here who've rejected the topic without trying to understand it.

Fair point; I agree with that. On another related point, there is still the potential for the Middle East crisis, for example, to explode into other nations. I'm sure dictatorships vs. democracies will remain a big issue for quite some time in the coming years. Also, the stance of countries such as America and those in Europe on such issues tends to be purely political. We can openly criticise African dictatorships, but we'd never dream of doing the same to China, due to trade relationships and their importance in the global economy. Likewise, the conflict in Syria has dragged on due to Russian and Chinese support of the regime, due to their own previous trade arrangements with the country. We criticise the dictators who do not side with the West, yet make sure to keep those who do in power, regardless of the human rights atrocities they have committed. It's all politicised morality, so as a result, it's really not morally correct at all. Governments are maturing worldwide? Morally, no. Politically, yes. I was not referring to those countries in particular, just to the general Middle East crisis that's going on now. To be fair, Egypt was a pretty stable country too until it fell apart... And Saudi Arabia, for example, is rich because of its oil wealth, whereas the implementation of the law there is still quite medieval in nature at times (e.g. thieves can have their right hands cut off, and those who renounce Islam should expect a public beheading, both done in mosques), and there is much less freedom of speech due to the nature of the ruling of the country. Saudi Arabia is known for some human rights violations, too, so I'd personally not include it as a 'developed' country, for a country needs to develop both economically and in terms of society. Those other countries, however, are good examples of more developed Middle Eastern countries.
