Contest Amateur Writing Tournament Returns: Edition Two
Destrod replied to Destrod in Writers' Corner
You can present it in any way you like, with title, without title, and yes you can break it up into any number of paragraphs you want, as long as it doesn't become irritating. Results will be published at the start of the next challenge, approximately 7th January, if we are not delayed. -

The word 'Maybe' does not count as a repeatable. -
Approved. -Formatting changes - Correction of a spelling mistake/typo Wonderful! Your expression never ceases to amaze me, if you had arrived earlier in the year, I would not have been surprised to see your name in the Best Writers list. I'm really looking forward to reading the next installment. This, is what we look for in an Amateur Writer. I would advise spending more time in your presentation and choosing a suitable font. Great content can be swept away if it isn't presented well enough.

I have no idea what led me to name myself Destrod. It means nothing, I usually confuse people by saying it's the name of a top secret nuclear project back in the 1900s but in truth, I just removed a few letters from Destroyed and thought of making a word which is gentle on the tongue.

First and foremost, congratulations to all the best helpers of the year, for making 2017 an eventful and exciting year for all tankers to enjoy. Secondly, to all the helpers' out there who didn't make it into this list. Always remember that a hundred nameless soldiers die to make their champion win. And thirdly, to all the non helpers out there, demanding no avatars or recognition but still contributing equally to the Tanki community. Your names may be unknown to us, but your spirits reside within Tanki, strengthening it with selfless character. And also, thanks to all the gold box admins, we love you and please keep dropping dem golds

Appreciate the compliment, but I didn't have to do much :)

Approved. -Multiple capitalization corrections - Modification of, unorthodox sentences - Slight changing of formatting. An interesting year for you apparently! Your thoughts were properly portrayed and expressed. Although the article itself lacks a defined theme, there isn't much to be expected from a Tankibiography, if there ever was such a thing. May the next year bring you joy and happiness... and M4s.

Looking forward to the stream! Do we get to see godmode?

Contest Amateur Writing Tournament Returns: Edition Two

That is very true. Writing requires imagination and freedom, but the best way to test someone's writing experience is to challenge him from various different perspectives, different angles; Writing cannot be handed to you on a silver platter, you'll need to cope with various situations in which your imagination won't prove very efficient. Like combat, the only way to become the best is to be able to expect and counter anything that comes at you. -

Thanks for the vote of confidence I guess. Of course, I'm not like twee, and might even never be, but I've got my own bag of tricks. How about you prove yourself right by putting together a piece we would enjoy reading? After all, we're all here for you guys, and your love for writing. -
Approved. - Minor formatting changes - Replaced Caps lock sentence with bold letters The article needs more work and detail, although you are heading in the right direction. There are many things you can include in this article, including camping/positioning spots, preferable combinations for different locations, include more getaway/getting in routes etc. A decent attempt! Good to see you back again Gnatty.

Looks pretty good! I'm looking forward to the 50% garage sales, I'll hopefully buy something. *Checks crystal bank*

Contest Amateur Writing Tournament Returns: Edition Two
Destrod replied to Destrod in Amateur Writing Tournament Returns: Edition Two Writers' Corner
Hello again, forumer, and welcome to the Amateur Writing Section's latest writing contest: The Amateur Writing Tournament! What is it, you say? Well, here's a handy guide to get you started. The way it works is as follows; each week, we will provide a different challenge, or topic, for you writers to write about. In the case of a challenge, you must write an article of a specified length, within the conditions given. This will range from things like the kinds of words allowed to including a specific word in every sentence of the article. We aim to provide a new challenge or topic every week, and each week, the three best entries will be rewarded with points, and the best one will receive a crystal reward. Amateur Writing Club members will have their points added to the Amateur Writing League standings, and will be eligible for the rewards granted by ranking up within the League. At the end of the series of challenges, the writers with the highest amount of total points will be rewarded with crystals, regardless of whether they are AWC members or not. To remove the need of asking how you are to submit your entries, I'll tell you right now. You can send a PM to me,@Destrod . It would be easier if you titled your PM with a suitable name such as "AW Tournament Entry", so that I don't accidentally ignore it. Deadline of entry submissions is 30th of January. The player with the 1st place entry will receive 10,000 crystals. Prizes will vary according to difficulty of each challenge. The challenges will rise in difficulty each week, but the rewards will also be boosted to make it worth your while. This contest is open to ALL forum members, but only Amateur Writing Club members will have their points added to the AWC League. If you have any questions that need to be answered, reply down here in the comments and we'll get them sorted out quickly! Special thanks to @tweezers, who started the tournament after taking out time from his busy schedule. I am glad to be continuing it. This topic will be updated each week with each new challenge and current standings, so check back on it for progress reports! Overall Standings Player Points 1. GrandExecutioner 40 2. kaisdf 39 3. H_A_Z_A_R_D 35 4. Darthvadermaximum 33 5. You.Have.Die 27 Challenge Two Results: 1st Place- GrandExecutioner 2nd Place- H_A_Z_A_R_D and TheTankBuster2 3rd Place- kaisdf 4th Place- You.Have.To.Die 5th Place- Darthvadermaximum Special thanks to @Stratosphere for participating, do not let this temporary setback discourage you! Other [Issue 70] The Dictator: Tanki's Finest News Source - December '17
Destrod replied to Yisroel.Rabin in Newspaper Archive
Well obviously, I'm not the perfect writer in any way, nor am I the best judge. Every person has his/her own likes and dislikes, one type of content can be judged in many different ways. This comes with age and gender mostly, but every suggestion is valuable to me and won't be ignored. And like Yis says, the new reporters actually lack talent as compared to the reporters of old, so I can proudly say that if I had applied three years ago, I would barely meet the criteria for an AWC member.
