unless you are getting the turret kit, you are still quite a long way from thunder m1.

Apparently Raphael2s youtube account was terminated, so people can't see his videos anymore. -
No that depends, for example my friend hates twins and rail and smoky, so he will probably not get any of the kits. He is mainly a thunder user.

both are good, but I'd get m2 smokey as thunder has been nerfed and smoky has been boosted, also there are tons of thunder paints out there
