And why is this in the developers section? It has nothing to do with games development. LOL As for Star whatever, I personally don't care about teams that did not come from the EN community. Star Ladder is for the Russians and they can keep it.
-
Apparently they can't go back. The system they use doesn't have a revert feature. Kinda little short sighted if you ask me but oh well, they are the ones that have to deal with the backlash from bad updates. Which seems to be a lot lately.
-
What are they, because releasing to the whole public should be the last. I see your Easter was this past weekend. I did not know that, but that only raises the question of why release a known bad update over a holiday. This explains why it has been so long waiting for a fix, your programmers are all on holiday too. If this is the case, it was not a very smart thing to do. But what do I know? I'm not a game designer, but logic dictates that you do not release an update that does not work as described and is full of bugs when you don't have the staff to fix it. Like I already said these stupid mistakes are bad for business, at least where I come from. By the way, I'm not arguing with you. I'm trying to get you to understand what we, as players, are thinking. You have to admit that the success rate for the last few updates is pretty low. The players are losing faith, at least the ones that are not too naive to know any better.
-
The difference is we usually know when a sale is coming, but I see your point.
-
Most places will honor the sale price on items purchased for a period of time before the sale started, like 14 days. Maybe this would be a fitting gesture seeing as how bad the mouse controls update failed.
-
What about us poor players that just purchased a PRO pass just before the sale? :( Do we get a discount after they expire? ;)
-
Well if they are smart, which I believe they are, they will listen. I'm only telling them what they need to hear and what many are too afraid to say. Hopefully the are not blinded by ego.
-
Are you telling us that you can not revert to a previous version of the game? I find this really hard to believe. Please tell me you have back-ups of the previous version. This update is starting to do serious damage to Tanki's image and reputation. Only a peak server load of 88,500 players. That's really low guys. Pay attention. Even your poll about mouse controls is tell you players don't want it. 76% of player that voted say no they don't want it or can't use it. That's 8145 people at the time I wrote this, and that number is raising fast. So don't force us to endure this update just to please 26% of the players.

Thanks for the explanation. I understand what you mean about testing. I know that some bugs will always find their way threw testing. Correct me if I'm wrong but we have only two steps of public testing. The test servers. Which are OK for simple testing of function and usability, but not so good for finding bugs and glitches. The environment is too controlled and does not accurately represent real world. The regular servers. Which work great for finding all the little bugs and glitches. However it is sometimes not the best idea to force everyone to deal with all the bugs and glitches. It leads to this current mess and bad publicity. Too many bugs get threw step 1 into step 2. I think a partial solution is to add a 3 step between 1 and 2. How hard would be to add or reconfigure a few servers to allow this extra step of testing. If you think about it, it may save you and your team lot of grief if you did not have to deal with all this negativity. You could deal with things in smaller "floods" to use your reference. ;) To many of us, one of the weaknesses of Tanki is the testing, I offer you an idea to help solve this problem. Just take some time and think about what I'm saying. Don't just dismiss it because of our distrust of each other, see what your colleagues think.
-
I just don't want to use WASD for steering or the mouse in my left hand. I agree with what you say about shaft, I just don't like it as much.
-
If it not possible at this time could it be made possible or do you think it is a bad idea. It may help with testing. Kinda like beta or RC testing. Better to catch the bugs before they make it to the game instead of fixing them after. Don't you think so?
-
Should be an easy fix for the programmers. They just didn't take the smaller view into consideration for locating the mouse location. It needs to be confined to within the playable area and not the whole screen.
-
Thanks but I have no desire to use the mouse controls for now. I'm right handed and use my right hand for driving my tank. I also don't use shaft much anymore since the laser was added. I used to think of it as a sniper weapon but a sniper would not use a laser. It gives away your position.
-
No disrespect to you, but MAYBE they should have said something to that effect a long time ago. Instead of waiting for 3 days for you to speak for them. Like I said their customer support is terrible. The fact remains that whatever changes they have made have negatively affected game play even with mouse controls off. Hazel claims that some of this will be fixed in the next release, but when will that be and how many players will leave for good, new and old?
-
I played yesterday. Not sure what you mean by forum ghost. Hazel, I'm sorry if my anger always seems to be directed at you but you are the only one who ever responds. Where is the community manger, he should be the one here discussing this update. I do not hate developers. I actually have a lot of respect for you and your skill, but my issue is with some of the decisions that have been made lately and I'm clearly not the only one. I'm just one of the few not afraid to say what others are thinking. Do you not find it strange that there are now 35 pages of negative complaints and the only thing you or anyone else from your team have to say is "Are you left-handed..." We as players and buyers expect answers to our questions and resolution to the problems we complain about. ADDED: Hazel (I think your name is also Semyon, correct?) Made there needs to be a better way of testing future updates. Is it possible to release updates to only certain servers? I don't mean the test servers, I mean regular severs. This way the update could be tested in real world environment but not effect all servers.
-
What are the specs of your machine, your internet? I did see you use IE, which is strange because for me the lag is too high. Turrets respond way to slowly in IE and I know several players that say the same as me. I can't use anything but SA Flash. The question is why does IE work so well for you and not for others and why do mouse controls work so well for you and not others? We should not have to have a gaming rig for a browser based game.
-
That's all you have too say and ask. WOW. Hazel I don't know what your views are and if you just doing as your are told by someone else, but your team really needs to wake up and listen to what people are telling you. This update has ruined game play for too many players. The new new auto-aim is not working correctly. It is causing missed shoots that never missed before, and also allowing shots threw objects like walls and the floor. I even saw some comments about the flipping issue being back again although I personally have not used wasp since the update. Mouse controls are way too buggy for release. Too many players don't even have access to them because of browser limitations. For anyone who drives using the arrows and is right handed the mouse is useless anyway. Shaft, well just look up above for all the issues players are having. Again, like after every update, lag increased. Loading time for windows 8.1 64bit with all the latest updates to chrome and windows just takes forever. Nothing on that machine changed only your update changed. So logic tells me it is your cause. As I've said too many times, your team needs to stop messing with things that are not broken and focus on fixing the real issues. Your peak server loads are dropping and adding new useless updates and ignoring the players that are complaining about the problems is why. I'm very sorry to tell you but Tanki online's customer service is terrible. I understand the pressure your team must be under. Trying to keep this game fresh, so the kids with very short attention spans keep coming back is very difficult, but if players keep leaving angry the negative reviews will stop them from coming in the first place. Someone else mentioned something, and it is a very good point. How many potential new players tried the game since you released this update and left because of all the bugs? To be honest, if I had tried it for the first time now, I would have just left. There are players leaving that got hooked and have played for months and years. If these players have had enough and are leaving, what do you think those that haven't got hooked yet are going to do? Your team should never have released this update in the state it is in.
-
Or how about they fix it? ;)
-
Not sure what testing they did but apparently the testers failed the test as well as the update. From what I see this is the final straw for a lot of players. Many are leaving to go play other games. Ones that actually work. Tanki had a good run but I fear their days are numbered. If you don't believe me look at the peak server loads. Maybe, seeing as they love Facebook so much maybe they should just become a Facebook game. I'm going to watch TV, seeing as between the broken updates, useless features, mults, hackers, saboteurs, lack of mods, and useless players, there is not much fun in playing. So, call me when the decision makers get their heads out of the sand and fix the real issues that we keep complaining about, instead of waste resources on adding and changing things no one asked for. As an example, /vote is useless and inefficient so I wrote my own script to use along side of Tanki. In as little as 4 clicks I can report somebody as well as put the reason in chat. Far better then their useless version. Except it still does not work because there no mods to come issue a ban. At least my part works. LOL We can't blame the programmers for this mess, we can blame the people in charge. Companies don't fail because of bad staff they fail because of bad leadership.
-
Please remove this update until you can fix it. I have mouse controls turned off, but have been having all kinds of strange things happening. Auto aim is not working correctly. I've been shot threw walls and floors. Developers stop tinkering with things that are not broken. Have you noticed the server load dropping? Another useless broken update.

Congrats on the rank. I like your idea for Sunday Fundays. I posted something similar in the eSpoorts section, but not nearly as cool. The Rusty Relics might be up for something like this. We just need a few more members and I'll discuss it with them. We are just too picky. I'll keep an eye on this. Now if somebody had been recording the battle we all had the afternoon of your rank-up you would have your first episode. LOL

Ok we will use those for target practice as well. ;)

Someday you people will understand that ranking too quickly is bad. You will soon find yourself under equipped for your rank and will be forced to become a buyer, suffer as an uncompetitive player, give up and start over, or give up and quit. The only time an SMP is good is when you are close to ranking , you have enough crystals and intend to buy whatever it is that your new rank unlocks. Well, unless your plan is to become a Generalissimo with M1's. If that's the case, buy all the SMP's you want, the high ranks can use you for target practice

This is not Semyon's problem, he is only the spokesman for Tanki online, other people make the decisions. Explain what you mean, that you can't shoot, and maybe someone can help you. I have never heard of this problem.
