The sad part is that I don't think they will. They're actually earning a whole lot more crystals than most of the top winners of the battles. If you're on the losing side, why bother trying to get the flag for a few dozen crystals when you can nab 100 by sitting in a drop zone?
-
While we're all complaining about how bad the new crystal boxes are, let's not forget two more minor updates that are also bad news. First, the gold boxes. I have become less and less impressed with gold boxes the longer I've played with Tanki. This is the final nail in the coffin: gold box drop zones. Everyone just huddles around one spot while snipers pick off the closest people! There's none of the guess work, or trying to hog a whole crystal drop zone to yourself, it's all focused on one dang spot. Second, the trees. Has nobody else noticed a few hundred trees have suddenly sprung up on Seruphov and other maps? It can be nearly impossible to see snipers now. Seruphov (the map I probably spend most of my time on) has now become a sniper haven.

Yeah, that was called team kick. You remember it? We had it, but people abused it, and people never used it, so now if you want someone gone you and almost your whole team must vote against the mult and hope a mod appears (never seen that happen).

Oh, I'm facepalming so hard right now. This is not a good update. Not good at all. Look, I understand that you're trying to make Tanki more tactical what with smart cooldowns, more balanced weapons, and now, predictable drops. But the real fun of Tanki isn't about tactics. It's more about fun, faced paced free-for-all gameplay. If I wanted tactics and strategy, I would play World of Tanks.

Railgun did not look good. It was too perfect and not enough random. Clouds are random. Not Railgun's clouds. Isida was pretty cool. My only gripe is that now all the other weapons don't look nearly as nice. XD

[Issue 28] [Comparison] Railgun or Shaft?
SicTransitGloria replied to Pathfinder in Newspaper Archive
Let's just say there's a reason I own "Dirty" paint. Seriously, I can take a Shaft hit and survive in fine order. "But Double Damage will take you out!" Yeah, well, my Double Armor will negate it. Oh, and guess who else can one shot anyone with double damage? Railgun. Rebeen, I hate to say this, but...you probably play noobs. Sorry, but the people with some good rail skills are likely higher rank, simply because it takes so dang long how to use it perfectly. Thekillerpenguin: Yeah, Shaft is good for those shots, but Rail can be just as good. Seriously, I've pulled off dozens of those shots in Monte Carlo, tagging just the edge of the tank to kill it. Also, I'm pretty dang sure hitting the barrel does not count. I mean, you can stick your barrel through a wall, and I don't think it takes damage then. -
Here's a few of the ethics things I do: Never shoot a typing tanker. I really enjoy talking to the people on both sides of a match, and I really don't want to discourage them by gunning them down while they're replying to me. I see it as rude; after all, I was the reason they stopped, should I really be a jerk and exploit it? That's no fun. Always make an effort to flip a teammate right side up (when possible). Self destructing is a pain now that it is penalized. Why make your teammate needlessly do it? Never shoot someone who isn't responsive. It's just bloody annoying to be cannon fodder if you leave the screen for a few moments. It's not really fun either, to shoot someone who doesn't shoot back. Also, if you're in an enemies base, you probably have more pressing issues, like stealing a flag or defending yourself. Apologize whenever necessary. If I accidentally get someone killed or something, I never hesitate to apologize, even if they never say anything in chat. Come on, it;s basic manners.

[Issue 28] [Comparison] Railgun or Shaft?
SicTransitGloria replied to Pathfinder in Newspaper Archive
RAIL FTW Alrighty, let me state this right up: Rail is definitely better. A good railgunner can act just as good or better than a Shaft in the sniper role, and simply blows the Shaft out of the water for everything else. Maneuverability (and thus, the ability to take cover) is a key asset. Let me put it this way: a double armor Mammoth can take 840 hit points...but good cover can provide infinite armor. This is compounded by the fact that there is no such thing as a sniping position that can be only taken from one angle. While Shafty is staring at one spot, shoot from the other. (Another weakness of Shaft, right there: predictability. Unless at extreme distance, you can generally tell where a Shaft is looking by where his gun is pointing. Not so with rail.) While it is true that rail takes 1.1 seconds to charge, most of that time can still be spent behind cover, whereas the Shaft has no choice but to wait in an exposed position. Also, a good player can tell where a Shaft is after being shot once (or before, if they have a good eye and know the map). (Sorry for rambling.) One last fact: Do you know how many of the "pro" teams use Shafts in tournament games? Zip (last time I checked). Do you know how many use rails? Almost all of them. Case settled. -
Really? Tanki 2.0...I've heard of it, on the very old posts of their facebook page. But still. The "Materials" tab almost seems to be a treasure trove of cool stuff.

Where to see the New Unity Tanks
SicTransitGloria replied to SicTransitGloria in Where to see the New Unity Tanks Archive
Has anyone else seen this? http://tankionline.com/en/media/art/ It's all of the tanks in the upcoming Unity version of Tanki. Seriously, has no one noticed this? Also, I really like the looks of M3 Thunder and Shaft, even If I don't use them. -
Frankly, I think it's amazing that you saw the dang thing in the first place. It's so small. I'd say it looks like a bull. Two options for this could be: Pushing power. shove a tank out of your way. OR Spikes. Ram your enemy to damage him.

Contest [Issue 24] Contest: Describe This in 100 Words!
SicTransitGloria replied to GoldRock in Newspaper Archive
For The Win I sat at my computer, nearly motionless, but inside me, everything was running double-time. I had the last flag of the game, and by capturing it myself, I could be the top player. Around one more corner, and then a mad dash across open ground. I turned, and saw them, just waiting for me, all drugging and ready for the kill. Sweat poured from my skin. I have to make it! I pushed my up arrow until the key cracked. I'm so close! -
Wait a tic... This article can be summed up in two sentences: Be nice. Don't be a jerk. Honestly, this advice doesn't only apply to Tanki. This is true of that mystical game Real Life.

Yeah, Two Steps is awesome. I also listen to Hans Zimmer (epic movie music) and Waterflame (epic video game music). -

What is a DJ? If I become a chat moderator, do I get to use this mode anytime I want?

Nice article and thanks for the link to the awesome screen recorder! But I do have one question: in parkour videos and Question of the Week videos, they seem to have the camera unattached from a tank, so that they can move it anywhere. How do they do that?
-
Thanks! I know not a lot of people do CP, so I doubt I'll get an answer for that or even need one.
-
So, you didn't really answer my questions. But year, I think I will continue playing, at least until the next ranking up becomes a ridiculously large number.

Hello all! I have recently become addicted to Tanki Online. Like everyone else, I want plenty of experience to level up quickly. All I've seen or heard about experience from the tutorials is "You get 10 for every kill". This is true. However, I have noticed you also get experience for capturing flags, returning flags, taking flags, taking control points, "neutralizing" control points, and even dying. My question: how much experience do I get for these accomplishments?
-
Tanki Online currently has over seven million players. You are just one of them. You represent 0.000014287 percent of the whole game base. I don't think they'll cry too much if they lose you.
