It isn't necessary that the enemy WILL die from your shots, they can have Isida's or Supplies with them, which make their tanks last much more longer than yours. Also, it does not matter how many Micro-Upgrades you have on your Hull, there is always a possibility that a sequence of enemy shots or a shot made by a railgun/shaft on Double Damage can kill you even before you realize anything.
