Open testing of changes in balance!

Updated suggestions: Yep, Railgun reloads too quickly. It's able to compete with Thunders at medium range, which is not what we want. Smoky's gotten better, but it still feels a bit weak. Try adding back a little bit more critical damage at M3 and M4. I feel like Shaft reloads too slowly. Try increasing it by a little bit. Freeze has become too effective due to the turret constriction effect. Reduce it somewhat.

    Let's Discuss Smoky!

I used it for a match. It's more powerful than the iteration from yesterday (well, at least it feels that way), but still not quite as powerful as it was before. At the very least, it's still quite formidable.

    Let's Discuss Smoky!

I think they added back some of Smoky's critical damage in the test server. Should be more viable now, but I'll try it out myself first.

Open testing of changes in balance!

My thoughts: Smoky is a lot weaker than it should be You should either add back some of the critical damage or increase the base damage further- it takes forever to kill a Viking. The reduction in Hammer spread is quite nice. Keep it in. Railgun reloads a bit too quickly right now. Tone it back a little. The Thunder changes are actually pretty good, but it's pretty terrible against enemies with protective paints since the reload is a lot slower. The other changes seem to be tolerable- I'll test against later, when the server isn't as laggy.

    Let's Discuss Smoky!

Not sure how I'll feel about the Smoky update. It's currently very difficult to kill an enemy with standard shots, since you mainly rely on criticals to do damage. On the other hand, if they increase the damage of standard shots considerably, it will make up for the loss in crit damage. I guess we'll have to wait.

    Let's Discuss Thunder!

From the looks of it, the planned Thunder changes are a throwback to the old days. More powerful rounds, slower reload. I doubt that we'll be able to 2-shot Hornets of the same modification, but hopefully I'll be able to 2-shot M1 Hornets with my M2 Thunder. The slower reload wouldn't bother me that much.

    Let's Discuss Hunter!

I'm a little bit sad about Hunter and Viking switching weights, but now that I think of it, if Hunter was lighter, the somewhat low acceleration wouldn't be as noticeable. I guess we'll wait and see.

    [Issue 33] Remnant - Part 6

Thanks for the heads up. I've corrected it.

    Let's Discuss Isida!

It's going to take some time for me to get used to Isida's new autoaim. It looks really twitchy, but otherwise I've still been healing and attacking people alright.

    Let's Discuss Hunter!

The Pitbull kit is back, but this time with Atom paint. It looks cool, but it's also more expensive than M3 Railgun, so I'm not sure how many people are actually able to afford it. EDIT: It looks like they're adding paints into the kits now. The Legend kit (unlocks at Maj. Gen) has Prodigi now (wut), and the Guardian kit has Nano. It's a nice addition, but it's making them prohibitively expensive for the vast majority of people. Well, at least that would lessen the number of kit buyers out there.

    Let's Discuss Shaft!

They didn't expect the bug to happen, and they're trying to fix it right now. It won't be broken forever, I'm sure of it.

What to buy? Which is better?

Vulcan will generally kill faster than Twins, but note that you'll usually overheat to some degree if you try to kill something stronger than a Hunter without stopping. Twins is also probably better for close range use because of its turret rotation speed- close range combat with Vulcan can be pretty hard.

    Let's Discuss Ricochet!

I like Ricochet just as much as you do, but you need to remember that it's not a do-everything weapon. Yes, it's incredibly powerful, but you'll still get outgunned by Shafts, Railguns, and Thunders at long range, equally matched with Vulcans and skilled Smokies at medium range, and outgunned again by Firebirds, Isidas, Freezes, and especially Hammers at close range.

    Let's Discuss Shaft!

I'm actually kind of surprised at how many M1 Shafts are still being used at my rank.

    Let's Discuss Smoky!

From what I've heard, M2 Smoky is capable of giving early M3s a run for their money. It will probably last all the way until Marshal, when M3 Smoky unlocks. _________________ I think this is my 2015th post, so yay for coincidences!

Your worst Turret and Hull ?

Twins and Mammoth. Never liked either. I can probably use a Mammoth decently if you made me, but I'm pretty bad with Twins.

    Let's Discuss Shaft!

Hmph, you can use the right click function of the mouse controls to take "selfies" of your tank. Here's my example attempt: http://i.imgur.com/F5SdC2V.jpg

    Let's Discuss Shaft!

I think you'll want to know the following: The recent Mouse Control update glitched out Shaft- the shots are wildly inaccurate in scope mode for a lot of people. This is the source of your problems, it seems. The developers are working on fixing it. The laser sight update eliminated sway, so there's no ambient movement of the sights. Hm, Shaft is still working fine for me. I think the mouse controls could help with sniping. The right click function lets you look around without turning your turret, so it's really useful for hiding your laser sight- point it at a nearby wall (or the ground), hold down the right mouse button, and you can look anywhere without revealing your laser sight. Once you've found a target, let go of the right mouse buttom, watch as your cursor aims at your target, and let go. They'll never know what hit them. This could be really beneficial to Shaft players once they get the targeting fixed.

Mouse controls and changes in auto-aim mechanism

I'm pretty sure that the devs won't leave Shaft in this state and let it die (it would be a real waste of a turret if they did). They're working on fixing the bugs right now, so let's cross our fingers and hope that it will be fixed soon.

Mouse controls and changes in auto-aim mechanism

The Unity Tanki is still in development. They basically have to redesign the engine and the models from the ground up, so it's not an easy task at all.

    Let's discuss Wasp!

You have a point, but Hornets are generally easier Shaft targets for me- they aren't stronger by much, and they're not as agile.

    Let's Discuss Thunder!

If you think that's bad, look at Ricochet. Thunder's DPS is slightly on the low end compared to Ricochet, Smoky, and Vulcan, but the splash damage makes it worth it. Nothing's like taking out multiple people with one shot by bombarding the point in Polygon CPs.

    Let's Discuss Shaft!

The devs said that they're working on bug fixing right now. Getting rid of bugs can be pretty hard work, and it's not easy to predict when all of them will be squashed. I just hope that time will be sooner rather than later.
