[Issue 61] Helpers of the Year 2016

The Newspaper team has been doing an interview with the Helpers Of The Year 2016, they have been selected as the Best of 2016 due to their exceptional contribution towards the EN community over the past year! Our helpers had answered the following questions: 1•) What is your position as a TO Helper? 2•) How long have you been working in this position? 3•) What inspired you to take on this position in the first place? 4•) What motivates you to do your job so well? Here are their reponses. @GoldRock: 1•) Newspaper Admin (former) 2•) About 8 months for Admin, normal Reporter on-and-off since March 2013 3•) When I first wanted to apply, the appeal of the Newspaper was the Reporters themselves - they all seemed like really cool and intelligent people - as well as the chance to write articles for the community. At the time, Meliora was applying for the position too, we'd both entered a few contests in the past and had discussed Newspaper prospects before, so we were both excited to try and become a part of the project. 4•) As mentioned, I first joined the team a long time ago (back in March 2013), and left twice to take breaks from the community but always came back. I really enjoyed writing articles for the community, and the Reporters are just a really brilliant group of people to work with - it helps that many of them have remained very good Tanki friends to this day. @eragon33: 1•) Newspaper Designers Manager & Creativity Section Administrator 2•) Since April/May 2016 3•) I love designing, I have been designing fan art and other stuff for over 4 years now. So I was very happy to accept the position when it was offered to me. 4•) I'd say the rewards which come after hard work, it continuously motivates me to constantly improve my designs and my speed of designing to better improve the newspaper. That and a friendly environment in the team is a great motivation to continue with my hard work. @Shedinja: 1•) Wiki Editor, previously EN Newspaper Reporter. Was promoted on my new main account (TheZigzagoonThatCan) to EN Newspaper Manager. 2•) I've been a Wiki Editor since July of 2016, but have been a member of the EN Newspaper team since April of 2015 (after changing powers over to my new main, TheZigzagoonThatCan). 3•) I love both the Wiki and Reporter positions because they originally allowed me the opportunity to study the mechanics of the game from a quantitative and qualitative standpoint, plus express their benefits and deficits in an easy way for people to understand. I've grown quite fond of the Newspaper since I first involved myself with it, and I now currently administrate it as TheZigzagoonThatCan. 4•) My greatest motivation is simply my passion for the study of the game and having a desire to effectively inform others of how it works. Both the positions I hold are perfect for upholding and achieving this goal. Why I'm pushed to do my job the way I do is simply because I enjoy it and granting assistance to others involved with the project. I'm hoping the Newspaper and Wiki communities develop into something strong and worthwhile for many years to come! : 1•) I am currently a Wiki Editor. 2•) I have been a full Wiki editor since August 2015, so roughly a year and a half. 3•) I have loved the game since I started playing and have always been interested in coding, websites especially. My friend was checking through the forum and noticed that the Wiki Editor applications were open so I thought, why not put my love of coding and gaming to good use, so here I am today. 4•) As I previously stated, I love building things with code, from websites to bots. Creating, editing and designing pages in the wiki is just another way for me to do this. @Nikk: 1•) I am a Forum Moderator, Event's Administrator, and an eSports Broadcaster. 2•) I have first started with Forum Moderating over a year ago. Later, I have started to work on bringing back Daily Events to the English Community. I have been doing that since late January 2016. 3•) Well, I used to enjoy Events from the times when I was a normal player. As they became more and rarer, I thought of ways to make them "alive" again. I have been working as a German Event Helper in the meanwhile, which gave me a lot of knowledge to start with. That was my inspiration, basically, just a big inside wish to bring back something as enjoyable as events. 4•) Happy, satisfied players. In the end, no matter how we look at it, we do it for the players. Seeing your hard work pay off like that is definitely a nice motivation to continue working. @Sia: 1•) Help Site Consultant 2•) Since March 2016 3•) I enjoy helping people both in the game an in real life. I used to watch moderators doing their work in chat and spent hours reading the forum. And the time had come for me to start working as an "official helper", so I applied for the job 4•) Motivation - to help players find solutions to their problems, which also helps me develop both as a helper and a player. @SHOAIB.ZAFAR: 1•) Help Site Consultant & Facebook Moderator 2•) I have been working as a Help Site Consultant since June 2016 and joined the Facebook Moderators in October 2016. 3•) In my opinion, I feel that I can socialize and connect with players in different aspects. I love to read and gain knowledge, which I would like to share players in need. Helping players and solving queries is one of the aims of Tanki Helpers, which I would like to pursue. 4•) Interaction with my Tanki colleagues and a friendly environment with their genuine feedback motivate me and that’s what I enjoy the most... @DarkOperative: 1•) I serve as a forum, FB, and eSports helper 2•) I started my forum and FB helper journey in May 2014. A year later I got accepted as eSport helper and have been in these positions ever since. 3•) The only reason I even found out about TO forum was clans. At first, I used to remain in the teams and clans section posting and reading here and there, about 6 months of only focusing on the cybersport section I started visiting other sections of the forum. I had always been actively posting and reading in the TO forum, I enjoyed helping out players on the forum with issues of just about every type. One day, very indifferently, I thought I'd give forum helper position a shot. At the time there weren't too many mods around so I naturally considered helping them out. I like the position as it involves helping out on the forum, and since I spent a lot of time on the forum so thought why not. Yele was the forum admin at the time and was kind enough to take me in. One thing leads to another and from forum helper I also became an FB helper. My journey to eSports helper was pretty natural. As I've already established above, I was(and still am) a complete Cybersport maniac. I saw a topic by the CS admin at the time which stated the need of clan mods and applied for it. That's how I got into eSports moderation. 4•) It's more of a hobby than a job, to be honest. I do it because I enjoy doing it. That is my motivation to which I still stand by today. @Hny93: 1•) Tanki chat moderator 2•) 1 year plus 3•) I love and liked the way other mods used all their efforts in helping players and help them understand the rules of To and answer their questions whenever they need help concerning the game. That inspired me lots so I decided to join TO helpers team 4•) I love how I help players and in return they they give me a wonderful reply saying "thank you for helping me" I love how we interact with my colleagues in To all are friendly making me feel at home all times. @rommeltanki: 1•) I am a chat moderator for the EN Community. 2•) I have been a chat moderator since February of 2015, prior to that I was an EN consultant for about 6 months. 3•) I applied to be a helper in Tanki for 2 reasons. The first was that I wanted kids to be able to play Tanki without seeing inappropriate language. The second reason was that both my son and I had our accounts hacked when we were beginning players and Tanki really impressed me with how quickly they were able to return our accounts. I thought I could do something good for Tanki in return. 4•) I love helping players. It's a great feeling to help a player recover a stolen account, or see their gratitude when you teach them how to block a bothersome player in the chat. It is motivating when they come back and say thank you. It's a great feeling to be appreciated. : 1•) Forum moderator 2•) Got accepted a bit over 2 years ago - 28th December 2014. Haven't left it since then. 3•) To be honest, my initial motivation was that I just wanted to be an official helper. I thought about applying on RU forum, but their application process was very strict and they had plenty of mods anyway. So I went on the English forum and there I found that a lot of the players lack insightful gameplay knowledge and expertise, so I applied in hopes of helping the community with that. I tried to become a chat mod first, but Ostrica told me to go to the forum since I had a much better reputation there. I applied for forum and Yele (EN forum mod at the time) took me in. 4•) The job of a forum mod is interesting and often very challenging. I have to deal with complicated game and forum-related issues as well as settle disputed between players and manage violators. I'm currently in charge of the Ideas section with Cypher as my main associate. Working in this section feels particularly satisfying since I know that I'm doing an important job in maintaining feedback from players to developers and helping the two parties communicate. The job also requires me to analyze players' logic and thought the process to try and understand their motivation for submitting certain ideas. So, in turn, I have to make sure I treat everyone fairly and process every topic in the correct way possible to keep the section clean and organized. I also greatly appreciate the fact that most established forum users have come to respect and value my opinion, which is always a great motivator since it lets me know that I can always count on support from the community no matter what happens. @CooperO: 1•) My main position is a forum moderator, but I'm also a translator for the V-LOGs and a referee during eSports tournaments. 2•) I've been a forum moderator for about 9 months now. 3•) After playing for over 4 years, I wanted a new challenge in the game. I've always liked the forum, ever since I discovered it in 2012. I was told the forum moderator team could use some extra help, so I decided to apply. 4•) Not really sure, I just like working on the forum and I like trying to find solutions and answers to players' problems and questions. I think it also helps to be part of a great moderation team with nice people. @joostcool: 1•) I am currently working as a forum moderator and as an eSports Administrator 2•) I started working for eSports January 2014, at that time it came together with a position as a forum moderator since you'd be working for both positions on the forum. Nowadays that's not the case anymore. So I guess that makes 3 years of duty. I did leave for a couple of months but came back quickly enough: Couldn't miss eSports :D 3•) I totally love competitions! That showed when early 2012 I started as an eSports player. I made my career in eSports for 2 years before I was asked for a position as a Cybersport Moderator (that's what they were called back then). But besides competition, I also like to lead competitions, which I why I joined eSports. 4•) My biggest motivation is players happiness. That might seem controversial, I know players are not too happy with the current way our eSports works. However, I still feel motivated to bring eSports to a higher level. With my new position within the eSports organization, I have more opportunities for this and I'll try my utter best to satisfy our eSports community :) @SpaceCowboy18: 1•) eSports Moderator, Forum Moderator 2•) 2 years 3•) I applied for the eSports official as I have been associated with the clan for 3 years and thought of using my experience and helping out EN eSports team in building up eSports Tournaments and helping the newbie clans. 4•) The game itself motivates me. I started playing Tanki only because of clans and eSports, the players I have met and the friends I made all this motivates me to do my job well and help out others. Thanks for all answers, and once more, a hearty congratulations to all of the Helpers of the Year!
