  1. Doesn't look like there'll be Black Friday increased gold rates...but I don't mind as I lack the decisiveness and experience of other gold hunters. We don't need another Black Friday 2017.

    Let's Discuss Matchmaking

-Sigh- I don't know about you folks, but playing some Assault battles today made me realize how unbalanced Assault mode can be. For maps like Massacre and Barda, Blue team can just camp on the point and keep killing Red team. Why not move the point closer to the middle of the map!? Have Blue actually fight its way to the point as opposed to just strolling to the point seconds from spawning. Come on! Edit: But back to Matchmaking...I don't like how we don't get to choose which team on ASL we get to be on. Sure, it's good to be well-versed in battle types, I guess. But I really don't want to re-queue for ASL because I keep being put on Red team on Massacre, Barda, or any maps where the ASL point is bizarrely near Blue's spawn.
  3. Hmm...I have several paints specialized for Camouflage in different battle environments. Nano's description claims that Nano "has been the most successful attempt at adapting nanotechnology to tanks", which sounds like Nano is a prototype for cool nanotechnology developments for tanks. As for Dragon: "Each scale is drawn by hand on a reinforced piece of titanium plate armor". I initially thought it meant that the Dragon paint had some extra titanium armor, but it actually says that the scales were drawn on the armor, so I'm guessing Dragon is purely aesthetic. Ultimately, I guess Nano's my deadliest paint.

    Smoky, the new OP turret?

I definitely agree. Facing Smoky at mid-long range is never easy thanks to its steady firing rate, consistent damage, recoil punch, and critical hits/alteration effects that may throw players off. Beating Smoky typically means getting the jump on them (which applies for any enemy encounter) and/or attacking them from a far enough distance that would minimize Smoky's damage

    Let's Discuss Vulcan!

Definitely agree about its usefulness. Even though the devs made the new Vulcan overheat later than before (yay?), I feel that they also it more unwieldy to rev up and fire. I mean seriously. 2.5 seconds just to rev up an M3+ Vulcan! Why not make it 2 seconds? Devs really should have ironed out Vulcan's overheating and only make minor stat changes at most.

    Let's Discuss Vulcan!

I feel you there. I took a break from Tanki in early August and came back around Halloween only to be shocked by the dev's tinkering with Vulcan. While the devs buffed Vulcan's damage, the devs "balanced" things out by prolonging Vulcan's rev up time. Now, rev up time is two to three times longer than before, depending on your Vulcan's modification and micro-upgrades. Personally, I did get a bit used to the longer rev-up time and made sure to be more deliberate with my rev ups. However, the longer rev-up time still nags me from time to time since I've devoted at least 85 to 90 hours using pre-tinkered Vulcan on my account. And if you rev up at the wrong time, you waste time reorienting yourself, which only gets worse when there's an approaching enemy. Besides the rev-up time, though, the new Vulcan still has that awesome machine gun feeling you get as you pour your innumerous bullets into enemy tanks.

    Smoky, the new OP turret?

D'oh! I didn't even realize my math mistake! My bad... I forgot to mention that the other big annoying factor of facing Autocannon is having see the smoky explosions every second. As I'm being bombarded with fast-firing Autocannon shells, the explosions obscure where my turret is pointed, causing me to panic a bit with my aiming. But beyond that, I see now that Autocannon Smokies are nothing more than mosquitoes. As long as they're alive, Autocannons revel in pestering enemy tanks with their rapid fire. But once you get their pattern down, they're just puny Smokies waiting to be swatted in no time. Thanks for pointing out my mistake!

    Smoky, the new OP turret?

Are you saying that every 0.27 seconds, enemies get 320 Impact force from M3+ Twins? Edit: I mean, I've never seen Twins' stats that way. I always thought they were for each individual shot. So to me, it takes 0.27 seconds for M3+ Twins to fire another shot and that each M3+ Twins shot can deal a maximum of 220 damage. Anyways, I'm not saying Twins is any less annoying than Autocannon Smoky. Far from it. I'm saying Autocannon Smoky for me is the most annoying Smoky iteration thus far.

    Smoky, the new OP turret?

I wish the -66% nerf kept the Autocannon in check, but I'm afraid it ain't so in practice. Per the official Tanki Wiki: Stock M3+ Twins Impact Force = 160 Stock M3+ Smoky Impact Force = 330 Autocannon M3+ Smoky Impact Force = 330 * 2/3 = 220 Welp. Even with Autocannon, Smoky STILL has more impact force than Twins! Sure, Twins' Stable Plasma slightly bumps up impact force, but only by 10%, not enough to surpass Smoky's impact force. And while we're comparing Twins and Smoky, let's look at their reload speeds! Stock M3+ Twins Reload time = 0.27 seconds Stock M3+ Smoky Reload time = 1.5 seconds Autocannon M3+ Smoky Reload time = 0.5 seconds Okay, Twins reloads faster than Autocannon Smoky, but this still doesn't change the fact that being hit by 220 Impact Force rounds every half-second is enough to jostle tanks around to the point of aggravation. Certainly enough to consistently throw off the aim of anyone facing this ugly alteration.

    Smoky, the new OP turret?

IMO, stock Smoky has been a solid underdog turret. Not as damaging as Rail or Thunder, besides Critical Hits. Not as effective at long-range as Rail or Shaft. Not as fast at firing as Ricochet or Twins. Not as deadly at close quarters as Firebird or Freeze. Yet, despite these shortcomings, Smoky's nice damage output, good firing rate, and reasonable range make Smoky a hardy, versatile turret that no enemy should take for granted in medium-long ranged battles. Then there's the new alterations. The incendiary and cryo shells are annoying in their own right, but Autocannon takes annoying up to eleven. With Autocannon, Smoky suddenly becomes a Twins-wannabe, firing rounds at a faster rate to keep rocking enemies' hulls around, annoying them to frustration, and capitalizing on their frustration. Sure, there are fans of Autocannon for its "fun" factor, but I am adamantly not one of those fans since the "fun" is largely one-sided, regardless of whoever wins or lose. In other words, Smoky's "OPness" for me is due to the Autocannon alteration getting under players' skins.

    New Missions, Drones Update

I feel you Hall_of_Famer. I got those exact three weekly missions when I logged in last Friday. Since then, I've put in some time into these missions, and, due to my playstyle, I'm not even halfway done with the Destroy Enemies mission. Despite this, I've been able to complete daily missions and am now 1 daily mission away from receiving 2 containers and 1 weekly container. Nonetheless, I agree with the general sentiment on this topic that the new missions system is more taxing and less convenient than before.

    Let's Discuss Vulcan!

After my hiatus, I really want to use my stock Vulcan again, but I feel that the "Sulfur Rain" alteration (y'know the one that turns the bullets into burning bullets) has forever stigmatized Vulcan, perhaps to the point of angering players to harass Vulcan users. Before, even with Vulcan's issues like the overheating bug, Vulcan for me was a great underdog turret to fight with as I would surprise unsuspecting foes with a barrage of bullets and really tear through the opposition from time to time. Personally, I hate that the devs released a new Vulcan alteration that lacked a substantial enough downside, but I won't go any further than that lest I go on ranting off-topic. Anyways, *deep sigh* how is the alteration now, if it has change at all?
  13. I got Lumberjack, Electra, Brazil, and Sweater. Out of the four, Lumberjack's my personal favorite for it's simple design. Electra's a cool paint, but I find it too show-offish for me.

    The War Ends

Well, the Lions met the victory condition first: win 300 Victory Points. Lions consistently held most of their territories, including a good share of 3 VP territories, allowing the Lions to keep winning plenty of VP's and surpassing the Bears and Wolves. Here's the "War Begins" topic, which explains the War's rules in verbose manner http://en.tankiforum.com/index.php?showtopic=375273&p=6572147

    War: Domination. Turn Summary

How did the Bears score 43(!?) additional victory points despite losing the most territories on Turn 6???!!! Seems counter-intuitive to me.
  16. I checked the profile of ASTT1956, and I noticed they were assigned to Team Lions as evidenced by their Lion paint. Yet, despite placing 1st on the winning team, they earned 0 stars. Unless the Battle Score screen was glitching and showing the wrong rewards, it is possible that ASTT1956 didn't vote and confirm on the War site before entering battle. Looking back on the FAQ for the War, Nives especially made it clear to follow the sequence of voting, confirming, and then earning stars.

    The War Begins

Hmm... I don't think Turn 1 is over yet. I believe Turn 1 ends at 07:00 UTC, which is 1-2 hours away, and yet people are saying that they lost their earned stars already. Please Tanki: this better not be another technical difficulty.
  18. Based on the majority of feedback highlighting Freeze users rendering Juggernaut woefully helpless, maybe Juggernaut should be immune to afterburn and afterfreeze, just like Godmode_ON was in the past.

    "Let's be Tanki Friends" Event

Well, I know that I absolutely confirmed my e-mail address linked to my new Tanki X account. I even recorded myself doing the confirmation and receiving Tanki X's 500 crystal confirmation bonus as a result. Edit: Of course, I also fulfilled the other requirements yet I received no promo code. Not in my inbox. Not in my spam folder.

    "Let's be Tanki Friends" Event

Looks like I'm not the only one who didn't get a promo code yet as of writing this. Fortunately, I documented the steps I took to partake in the "Let's be Tanki Friends" event and even recorded screenshots of my battles. Maybe with such evidence, I will perhaps be able to convince the TO Help desk that my case is worth looking into. I may still get the "Oh you still did something wrong" retort, but I'll give it a shot.

    War Herald #2

Yep. 07:00 UTC does indeed translate to 02:00 UTC-5 (or 2:00 AM). Here's a handy site to refer back to in case you are unsure about times. https://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/converter.html

    War Herald #3

Well! My predicted rewards for earning 5 stars managed to be in the ballpark of the official rewards! Which is good: playing 5 battles for 5 stars in one turn and earning 3 containers in return is a sweet deal. And the War is a 2-3 week affair, so I can pick any day to earn my 3 containers!

    War Herald #2

Maybe the reward for getting the minimum 5 stars will be at least 1 container or no more than 3-5 containers? Who knows at this point but the War organizers. As Nives said, We wait anxiously for the organizers' next move. That "Easy Pass" does raise eyebrows tho.
  24. I'm lucky to have caught one meteorite gold. It was on Highland CTF, and I actually saw the gold coming from the top left corner of my screen. I'm certain that seeing the gold blazing through the sky helped me calculate my big lunge. Every one of my 10-15 other nonconsecutive attempts simply failed, and I generally ignored the rest of the meteorite golds that happened to fall during my battles.

World UFO Day comes to Tanki!

Besides the persisting bugs that stop me from playing the game, the World UFO day festivities for me have been, well, okay at best. I'm no fan of the meteorite golds since catching them after impact is really a drag race to the gold. And given that drag races & speed are most natural to Wasps, the meteorite golds tend to benefit Goldbug Wasps the most. Oh well. At least those UFO buddies are nice (yippee...). The saving grace, of course, is the MU sales, and I'll take any chances at MUing my equipment for less than regular price.
