    Bugs and Glitches Reports [Closed]

I forgot the infamous error plague I've got within the last week. Every time they popped up, 1) my screen would freeze or, more likely, 2) my turret would go limp during battle and not damage anything. And this is on top of the crashes (I posted screenshots of these instances on page 229) I experienced when waiting for a battle. On any browser or the official client, when the Matchmaker finds a battle and sends me there, the loading screen for the battle would not pop up, and after a few seconds, I get disconnected from the server. Using the Flash Player Debugger, I am able to see some error text elaborating what went wrong while I was being sent to a battle, specifically mentions of missing stuff or "null object references". Personally, I'd like to think the newly added paints are partially responsible for some of my crashes, but I don't know for certain. So far today, using the official client, I've had a smoother, crash-free experience. Hopefully it pans out later today. Edit: I've been on a mid-2014 MacBook with a 2.5 GHz Intel Core, 16 GB of memory, and two graphics cards (NVIDIA GeForce GT 750M and an Intel Iris Pro) for almost 4 years.

New Day / New Ways to Play: Drones I & II

While I am attracted by the Mechanic and Supplier drones, which both share boosts (i.e. health and supplies respectively) with allies, I still feel hopeful for the potential of the Trooper drone. While Trooper is more suited for solo, isolation gameplay and only lasts at least 10 seconds, Trooper imo is the best drone for quick rebounding from a well-organized assault. Unlike other drones, Trooper gives you a pseudo-Overdrive boost straight from spawning that can help swiftly push back against the likes of spawn-killing squads as well as prepare one against drugged enemy infiltrator squads. However, I believe that Trooper can also be used offensively for Lightning-Quick attacks, especially once Trooper is fully MU'd to last 20 seconds. In that case, from spawn, it'll take a Trooper-donning tank 5-10 seconds more or less to reach the enemy base, leaving the remaining 10-15 seconds up to the player's accord (i.e. breaking down enemy defenses, swiftly stealing the enemy flag or returning your team's stolen flag). Even better, Trooper tanks can catch up to and partner with Mechanic and Supplier teammates on the frontline, which only opens up more avenues for plays.

    Bugs and Glitches Reports [Closed]

So I've been playing Tanki Online on Flash Player for the last two days, and lately I've been getting these error messages. Seems to me that each message is pointing to some object the game couldn't successfully fetch as well as some stuff about Premium, Tank Protections, etc.

    XT-Skins, Drones, Balance Update

At least the Isida nerfs help make Isida-healed infiltrators a bit more manageable. Paired with the new buffs, Freeze will be able to slow down flag thiefs better, as even with Isida healing, the frozen tanks will still be sluggish enough for reinforcements to come and finish them off.

Of course not. Dem Magnums gotta get their 2000+ kills somehow.

    XT-Skins, Drones, Balance Update

Hmm... "Assault drone. After destroying enemy tanks, prolongs the effect on all active supplies." Is it just me or is Supplier an upgrade to Assault? I mean with Assault, one has to destroy at least one enemy tank to prolong supply effects. With Supplier, on the other hand, one simply needs to wait for a drone to reload to prolong supply effects. Not to mention Supplier spreads supply effects to nearby ally tanks, which Assault can't. Still, I'm a bit confused. What does it mean for Supplier to trigger "after a drone's reload"? Does that mean Supplier has to be activated after using a different drone?
  8. For some odd reason, I'm not seeing as many Magnums dominating as I anticipated. Around two weeks ago, fresh off MMS' release, in a Bridge Rugby match, my team was being dominated by my opponents, who had two to four Magnums that quickly obliterated and weakened our defenses. Now, during the birthday sales, I had bought the Magnum M3 module thinking that there would be similar Magnum-fests in the future. Since purchasing the module, however, I've never been in a match where two to four Magnums on the same team were creating the same degree of havoc. And this happens regardless of whether I have Magnum protection equipped or not. Either it was one Magnum racking some kills or two Magnums playing a bit passively (i.e. not kamikaze-ing into the enemy base and subsequently creating havoc with explosive Magnum shots). Maybe I'm just lucky to not have been in Magnum-fests, though given the spread of Magnum protection use thanks to the custom protection modules update, I'm sure I'm not the only one experiencing the gradual but steady decline of Magnum Domination.

Things TO has improved on since 2014

No worries. Here's an improvement: Distribution of battle crystals in non-Pro battles following the MMS update. Although in my opinion, this improvement should have been implemented many months agos. It's nice to finally earn crystals based more on your performance as opposed to just winning the battle (Edited), and at least losing teams get greater consolation prizes for performing well. Too bad the community's still reeling from both the removal of non-Pro battles from the Battle List and the persisting unbalanced battles post-MMS.

Don't forget about Striker. Pretty much what everyone says Striker can be summed up as follows: 1) "underpowered" and underutilized due to its quirky firing mechanic 2) not OP (dare I say, genuinely balanced!?), especially when players are busy getting mauled by cheeky griefer Magnums and other meta turrets. 3) a force to be reckoned in the hands of a player that knows what they're doing

Vulcan texture - Used to have a Hexagonal prism for a barrel. Now it's noticeably rounder and more akin to a real-life gatling gun.

    Let's Discuss Striker!

Nearly 10 hours in with Striker on my alt. So far, looking good. I'm definitely getting the hang of "throwing" my solo rockets. Of course, as a Smoky main, I still gotta break the habit of firing Striker as if it were a Smoky (i.e. looking down the center of my turret and firing once the center is pointing at an enemy), especially whenever a flag thief flashes by right in front of me. For the most part, I've paired Striker with Viking for a nice balance of speed & health. I tried Striker-Mammoth, and it's a bit underwhelming. Despite its shore of health, Mammoth's slowness really leaves me more vulnerable to awkward close quarter encounters with speedy tanks. Nevertheless, I have enjoyed several occasions of full salvos. While a couple of my targets did avoid the full salvo just in time, I nailed the full salvo a few times against enemies who were left exposed (one of them was actually a flag thief blocked by their bumbling teammates, and I gleefully prepped and fired the full salvo to quickly recover the flag).

    Let's Discuss Striker!

Actually, now that I think about it, I think Striker's more about throwing explosive baseball rockets, whereas Railgun's about throwing a high-damage javelin.

    Let's Discuss Striker!

Thanks for your advice guys! Just played like 2 hours with Striker. While I did struggle with its aiming at first, I soon adjusted by making light, subtle turret adjustments. Basically, I quickly turn my Striker slightly to the left to nail an enemy with a Right Barrel Rocket and fire afterwards. And for firing a Left Barrel Rocket, I turn my Striker slightly to the right. It really makes me feel like I'm "throwing" these rockets with my left or right arm like baseballs or javelins. Heh...and it sure feels satisfying throwing these javelins at tanks and weakening enemy infiltrators. Looking forward to more Striker practice in CTF. Wish me luck!

    Let's Discuss Striker!

Hey guys! So I've been itching to give the underutilized Striker a try, maybe get a hang of it, and use it to surprise unsuspecting teams. Now, I'm aware that Striker WILL take time to get used to given that its Rockets are fired from the left and right barrels like Twins. Not to mention the splash damage that can go against me in Close-range skirmishes. I've also heard that Full Salvo mode is too situational particularly when facing fast targets. I'm planning to try out M1 Striker on an alt first. Any other warnings and tips I need to know firsthand? How much of a pain is Striker's firing mechanic on certain maps? Thanks for your help!

    Matchmaking is coming May 29th

Happened to me as well. The new MMS has been generous with battle rewards, though evidently it's not enough to stem ineffective gameplay from other players, whether deliberate or not. https://cubeupload.com/im/Sal90/ScreenShot20180608at.png

    Appreciation of New Updates

I think some people were more unhappy with the steep increase in protection prices. After all, 250000 crystals (before sales) only gets you one new protection module that you can mix with up to two other modules, unlike before when 250000 crystals got you a preset of three protections. And that's nothing once you factor in MU's for the M3 modules (450000 crystals per individual module). Yes, the 50% sales help mitigate the costs, but they're not enough to completely wash away the disappointment among players who were hoping to buy or upgrade protections at a manageable price. Heh. If the gold rate was increased over the birthday celebrations, some players would undoubtedly turn into mult-like goldbugs and end up throwing random battles into more unnecessary flux. Granted, Tanki's last birthday event did feature 2x gold box rates, so I'm betting players banking on increased gold rates (because free money is tantalizing) were sorely disappointed.

Premium Account - Daily bonus missing

Premium Daily Bonuses are automatically added to your account after you log in. You don't "claim" the Bonuses like you do with Daily Mission Rewards. For reference, this is what the Premium Daily Bonus looks like for me. Please note the "close" button as opposed to a "Claim Rewards" button.
  19. Huh...nice find, detective Issimo. Dem devs sure are being subtle about Overdrives. Also they love their Neon Genesis Evangelion references.

    Matchmaking is coming May 29th

So, I decided to try some TDM for a change, and I get this unfortunate result. Now, I could give my bottom five teammates the benefit of a doubt and say that my killer instinct opponents simply had the jump on my hapless teammates 90% of the time. However, I cannot understand why my bottom five teammates didn't quit the match despite getting mauled alot. Must be dat Double Battle Fundz incentive. Perhaps they're stubborn. Heaven knows, but I may as well get used to MM's risks before the dev's fix it weeks later (unless they have a fix nearly ready).

    Matchmaking is coming May 29th

So far, for me, the new MM has been underwhelming. The biggest positive for me was the reward distribution, which is a fairer way to reward players regardless of winning or losing. In spite of the crystal incentives to stay in battle, though, I still see the usual chaos in random battles like team collapses, random chokes, and players leaving matches. No doubt that the unpleasant feeling of getting slaughtered continues to outweigh the hopes for crystals proportional to your performance. In short, non-Pro battles are even more of a risk and gamble following the MM update. I could keep ranting on and on, but I'll conclude that featuring Double Battle Fundz only in risky non-Pro battles is a surefire way to breed unrest and discontent that'll spoil the fun of Tanki Online's 9th Birthday.
  22. I've been observing the prices for MU'ing the new modules, and as many tankers have no doubt already noticed, each individual module is priced as if it were a Triple M3 module. Now, I can understand making the protection modules more expensive to justify the ability to create any combination of three modules (i.e. Isida, Shaft, & Ricochet that wasn't possible until now) as opposed to buying modules with presets of three or two protections (i.e. Firebird, Twins, & Railgun for Kodiak T-G). While this means one can now switch between Rail-Thunder-Shaft & Rail-Thunder-Rico without worrying about 2 separate modules, one cannot deny the steep increase in price to upgrade protections following the update. Despite the flaws of the old system (i.e. making you pay for each protection combination you want), at least I could MU all three protections on my Triple M3 module for a single price. Now, you have to pay thrice as much!!! Ex: Previously, one could boost a Triple M3 module's protections from 44% to 45% for 38540 crystals. Now, assuming one has three modules at 44% protection, boosting all three to 45% would cost one 115620 crystals! I must say, what a way to celebrate 9 years of Tanki Online by making protections thrice as expensive as before. It sure does discourage players who had a flurry of modules with similar protections before the update, doesn't it?
  23. While LGC modules have sadly passed away, at least the devs didn't rob us of our highest protections. However, I reckon that this update still sucks particularly for players who invested significantly into modules with shared protection levels (i.e. a maxed out Prodigi LGC module and a maxed out M3 Kodiak T-G module). As far as I can tell, the devs did not compensate the loss of redundant modules with crystals, drugs, or drone batteries. Unless the devs have a change of heart, this update speaks volumes about the issues of investing significantly into TO.
  24. Better use that extra time for a smooth update release, if at all possible. Last thing the TO community needs is a couple of malfunctions pouring unneeded salt on their wounds.
