WRONG INFO DISPLAYED ON VULCAN UPGRADE On the "new total upgrades" menu, it shows the RELOAD TIME GOING UP, not down! :wacko:

I tried to say that, but I kept choking myself. :unsure: Change sucks. Take it from someone who has seen it kill sites like strychnine poisoning. In trying to attract new players, you alienate your existing players and screw up your programs.

Amen. Of course, the new Unity version will be far worse because the raiders/mults/trolls have already figured out ways to beat the system, so it will start off bad. After a fannish rush into the game, the owners will quickly sell it for a profit before it rather rapidly "tanks" (fails)...I give it six months, tops. I mean, all the bells and whistles in the world can't keep paying players when they discover that they are getting "gamed" by devs and other players. I trust you mean that "thrusting your hands through the screen" means you want to THROTTLE someone who deserves it. a ) the cheaters and mults b ) the trolls on your team c ) the clueless update writers

Server RU2 is on the fritz...again. When a certain battle has increases in player numbers, it can take TWO OR THREE MINUTES to connect a new player in the middle of a battle, and half the time the new player gets an empty screen instead of the battle. Problem with the server connection program, obviously. UPDATE, 0500 UTC Now I'm trying to leave the garage and display the battles on RU2, and the stupid server is trying to add me to some battle! Serious issues with the routing there!

They have reduced this, but apparently can't fix it, or it would take too much brainpower. Been better recently, but still bad. It's a problem with the stupid "mouse controls" that misreads inputs from earlier and causes the Shaft zoom aim to malfunction, or the turret to spin. This happens on at least 20% of the respawns, and I doubt anybody is even working on it anymore. Yeah, that is stupid, to leave it that way.

I came across a Gold Box on Madness CTF (upper level spot Right 2, F on the CP map) http://en.tankiforum.com/index.php?showtopic=234421 because the 4 players were too busy killing each other to go look for it. :o It had been out on the ground at least 45 seconds, and if anyone had self-destructed, they could have seen it.

FILED UNDER SHAFT STRATEGY: SMART OR STUPID Here's a tip for Shafts playing Monte Carlo, since I found not one, not two, but THREE of these players with their heads up their butts. When there is a loose enemy flag, stop trying to pad your kills score and RECOVER it. You might get the capture, you might not. But someone went to the trouble of getting it to help YOU win. Letting it go back because you don't want to leave your "spot" is just incredibly insipid. When I see this happen, I switch to the other team, and kill that Shaft as many times as I can, until he gets the message.

Don't mince words. If you don't like it, just say so. :rolleyes: You must not have gotten anything out of it. I probably got less than a lot of folks. But the upgrades left for me are not much more than I was willing to pay for just a couple of things.

I was wondering why some tanks appeared stronger. In effect, they got free upgrades if they raised just one. Of course, I benefited from this where I had one parameter way up (like damage) and will get the speed and impact "free."

For only my second time, I got 2 gold in a day, out of 6 that I saw. The second time, it was mostly enemy team members fighting for the gold. But there is a tactic you might want to try: shoot the guy one-away from the drop point. If he dies, no one can get past him immediately, and you just have to get to the point yourself. Someone else will likely shoot the player directly under the box. ;) By killing the "second closest" it was just me and the dead guy when the box touched down.

Except that on low-scoring, large-team CTF games, that can be the ball game: you get 1000 points, and your team collectively loses 1500 or more in reduced rewards. If someone does not understand the concept of TEAM play, they should play strictly DM. It's not just mults that can sink a team, it's not knowing what the concept of teamwork is.

This happened (briefly) to me on Polygon DM. I would hit other tanks, but if I shot them or they shot me, nothing happened. After about a minute, we had a ping reset and someone killed me. But he's right: the other tanks don't know what to think when they shoot a guy a hundred times with no damage.

How about we just assume that anyone who doesn't post that they liked the update actually hated it. Oversimplified, but logical, and probably very close to the truth. I don't hate premium accounts. I just disagree with everything about them, and they are obviously just a new money scheme.

You mean COULDN'T RESPAWN? I've seen that happen a couple of times, where the battle reappears but I'm not there. I refresh, though, and it works. Not so the glitch where you respawn and the "Banner Box" gets stuck in the battle window (entry pending).

Two serious "an error has occurred" hit me today, BOTH OF THEM in Tribute CTF on the notoriously buggy RU2...! In the first one, it took more than 3 minutes to return to the battle, and it had already ended. In the second one, it appears that either 1) the BATTLE DISAPPEARED 2) the battle ENDED EARLY, and did not restart, and my reward was lost, or 3) the battle became invisible and inaccessible to me on the RU2 battle list! I was playing normally when I received the disconnection (error has occurred) and when I attempted to return to the battle, it wasn't there, nor was a continuation, which might be expected if it had ended or ended early.

Hammer *can be* a good attacking turret, if you have Hunter or Viking and can use Double Damage to get one-shot kills. I often used DD or "FREE" red cubes to attack in Serpuhov CTF and Polygon DM. But I didn't realize how effective this could be against light M2 and M3 hulls until yesterday in a Forest DM battle. In just 9 minutes, I scored 51 kills : 30 one-shot kills and 21 two-shot kills. The reasons were: many Hornets, some already hit and weakened, and the lack of Double Armor use (wasteful if you are going to get killed every 15 seconds, with or without it, in a dense DM environment). My score could have been higher if not for two or three strong Freeze that tended to ambush me (not going to waste Repairs for the same reason I just gave: someone else will finish me off fairly quickly). But they took much longer to get a kill, whereas I might shoot one or two while approaching a skirmish, two more close-in, and someone trying to finish me off. The longest string was 6 kills in 30 seconds, which surprised even me, as I thought the last two attackers were going to get me! The trick was to kill the opponents with minimal damage to myself. My final D/L ratio was 2.75 for the battle. When going against tough Hammers (Premium accounts, well upgraded, Africa armor), it is frustrating how much damage you have to inflict to kill them. My only recourse sometimes was to use Shaft with DD (maximum kill power) and wait until a Firebird or Isida had already weakened them. The Africa paint affords no protection from any of these three turrets.

Note to team players: dropping the enemy flag to run get a gold box, and losing half your reward trying for 1000, is pretty inane. But I suppose the allure of a Gold Box makes all noobs goofy. It's partly Tanki's fault for encouraging immature, ego-driven individuals to forego their team's welfare and look out for themselves. In the long run, they're losers.

Hmm. Now the Battle Lists and Battle Openings are going gaga. I went to join a battle, and it put me in without the usual screens, then displayed the TANKIENONLINE square over my screen while I was in the battle. This was at 2100 UTC.

Yes, and irksome if two Isidas are together. If possible, I'll switch to Irbis paint and use Twins on both Isidas at once. But at a distance, as on Berlin and Solikamsk, a good shaft will kill both before they get anywhere nearby. :o Yeah, that extended range was a blatant money-raising scheme, and the possible distance is way too long.

ISIDA USERS: Please take note, because a lot of isida users are apparently unaware of how and when to use the turret to aid teammates. Many practice using the Isida offensively, and to aid those who have low health. But PLEASE learn when NOT to help players. 1) I posted earlier that isidas helping other Isidas in Isida-Isida battles should *NEVER* try to keep the teammate alive until AFTER the enemy is dead. Killing the enemy will eliminate the very real chance that BOTH of you will be killed! Well, here's a couple of other helpful hints: 2) Do NOT improve the health of a Shaft that is sitting with his "light on" (aiming at a target). You will spoil his aim. 3) Do NOT try to improve the health of a teammate who is moving rapidly ahead of you on a narrow path, such as on Skyscraper, or the middle of Forest. Today I was killed twice by my own Isida teammates who were trying to "HELP" me when I obviously did not need help. One knocked me off a building side and the other sent me into a ravine. Had they simply done nothing, TWO BATTLES would have been won and not lost! Know when to turn your stream off, or just play another turret!

Again, today, on RU2, Polygon DM, the battle locked up, and I could not even re-enter. Then the connection timed out and I lost my reward (thankfully not my 40 minutes of XP for Daily Missions). Why are the servers losing connection with players??? Notice that I said the servers. There is nothing wrong, mis-set, or lagging with my browser: this is a TANKI PROBLEM...!

Locked up my browser with a static image of the battle when I tried to reload the battle after the lag/freeze/spin glitch. Worst part: battle was about to end so I lost all my reward. :angry:

At 0105 UTC, server RU2 locked up on my battle and also locked up my browser (had to shut it down). Symptoms were similar to the recent "freeze/spin" glitch except that rebooting took me to a "static" image of the battle, and would not let Firefox function at all, to refresh or exit the game. -
You mean "mad druggers" -- mad draggers are Mammoths with no speed upgrades who take 4 minutes to get to the gold box spot. :P
