This reminds me of when BB's would start to criticize something, and a whole bunch of supporters (the production employees) would show up to provide "balanced views" (maybe they had to to keep their jobs). The other laughable example is when a new film, a really crappy one, gets great reviews on IMDB...by the people who made the film. Occasionally they are stupid enough to include details that no mere viewer could know. Or give 4 stars, from user DVanOwen, for a film directed by Ralph Van Owen. I wish they would announce updates in advance, and give us their reasons, so that we can pick them apart before they start ruining our games. We know none of the junior devs would dare to question the judgment or intelligence of their bosses.

They removed it. Conform! Do not question Big Brother Tanki.

Uh, oh. (gnawing suspicion) Is it possible that people are being selectively *driven* to Unity by these server glitches??
-
It's back again. It was gone for awhile, mostly, then 4 times today on RU2, the ping spikes, spinning, and disconnection from the battle.

By the time you become a Gizmo, you should have SUBSTANTIAL tactical and strategic knowledge about how to use Isida properly. - If you have the wrong paint, don't try to stick it out. Attack some big enemy without a helping Isida. He will kill you, but you will weaken him and you can change your paint for no penalty on respawn. - I found myself in some games today where I had to CHASE DOWN a victim because he just ran away from my beam! Well, it means I needed to use a faster hull, even if it means less protection. The next time I caught him. - If you are in a Deathmatch, and your teammate is being attacked by another Isida, DO NOT TRY TO SAVE HIM by giving him health. If he could dispatch the other Isida, he would have already done so. KILL THE OTHER ISIDA. This will be a "wash" and eliminate the enemy Isida. *** Here's what happens if you use the "aid" method: your energy goes to him, and the other Isida takes it from him, and he gains nothing except a second or two of time. Then once the enemy kills him, he kills you. This happened to me twice today against other Isidas, and in BOTH cases my fellow Isidas (BOTH GIZMOS) did the wrong thing and got us both killed! Must have been my days for running into incompetents: 4 straight battles the leading team in CTF battles gave up the victory because they were too stupid to know it was happening or how to stop it. Most of the time they were trying to increase their own kills when they could have easily stopped the flag grabbers. I wish I could YELL IN RUSSIAN : Do you jerks not see that you are about to lose??? Or maybe I should create battles where I can just kill them with friendly fire because they are completely clueless. Random battle teams must have cost me thousands of crystals. Maybe all we need is a "team awareness test" that melts down the tanks of the players who fail it.

I finally confirmed what I suspected: not only Freeze impairs Shaft -- when Vulcan is hitting Shaft, you can't fire your Arcade shot as rapidly as you should. This is a probably an ugly programming flaw rather than an intended feature.

They like buyers. They also like converting non-buyers into buyers. There are very few things being done to help non-buyers who don't want to become buyers. Unfortunately, many of the things they do will encourage buyers to become non-buyers...and they overlook that completely. Even smart guys can do stupid things, especially when they get hideously bad advice. "When you find yourself thinking that all of your detractors are wrong and stupid, you are already on the road to ruin."

Yes, you only see your own. It means you missed out on a PA bonus. About as subtle as a slap in the head.
-
I sincerely doubt it. The problem they are going to face is that Premium is a "cheaper alternative" to the frustration of ranking up without buying crystals. We know there are less people (lower percentage of players) buying crystals now: the decline was unavoidable. This latest move to PA seems almost desperate, giving players all sorts of perks to squeeze regular income from some of them. This may, also, be the long-rumored "alternative funding" (i.e. paid membership) that is planned to sustain Tanki Online when a huge chunk of its player base moves to Unity.
-
No, wait, you are obligated. They just said it. You can't just say you don't like it - you have to explain why, so that they can refute your illogical bias in posts that you will never read. Or maybe if you make a valid undeniable point, you will get lost on pages of flame wars that nobody wants to read.

So there was a poll, but you don't like polls, so you merge polls, then there is no poll, and nobody voted, so nobody didn't like it. That is almost as ridiculous and self-serving as anything Orwell ever thought up. Do staff spend their time coming up with creative ways to stifle dissent and make themselves look good to the untrained eye? REALLY??
-
Would you rather we just become socialist and nobody spends any money here? If you don't respond to the the criticism of your PAYING MEMBERS, you will very soon be on welfare...

Even some of the people who LIKED this change did not even press the LIKE button on the original post! This is an insidious and self-serving change. What's next? Ban anyone who doesn't like your updates? Users have always had to toe the line between constructive criticism and just saying something sucked the mop. If you really want opinions, replace the LIKE button with this: (___) I strongly agree with this change (___) I liked this change (___) I don't think this change was helpful (_x_) I think this change was a really bad idea Then you would get a sense of whether the DISLIKE was "You guys blew it again" or just "I don't like or need any changes like this." Just a little aside here: I was providing FREE assistance to another site that finally had enough of my criticism of its management. So they restricted me. Lo and behold, 9 months later they were begging for me to come back after they fired their whole paid staff. If I were your staff, I would praise every one of the commenters that tell you the unvarnished truth and vote DISLIKE. Listen to them while you still have a job.

We have never liked the aristocracy. ;) Off with their heads! Give their premiums to the poor! Melt down their golden hulls!

Ghost Rider said: "...maybe more powerful turrets and/or hulls for real money" ...which is exactly what you get when you have to spend $75 (an actual estimate) to fully upgrade a turret and hull by buying crystals. You can get 700,000 for $100 on a 2x sale. If they sell M3 turrets for a flat rate, they will lose money. ;)
-
Wrong. The crystals are still divided the same way from the Battle Fund, which you see in the Rewards. Then the premium players get a 50% bonus, like the 2x and 3x days, which is in the Rewards column. Really, you should be able to see that happening.
-
Grey crown means you missed out on a bonus, because although you have one of the other services (double score, pro pass), you have not paid for Premium.
-
It is an inappropriate use of development time if only a small minority of players (5% or less) spend $10 a month for it. To be worthwhile, you would need at least 1000 players to use it consistently. Otherwise, you spent more on it then you're getting back. I was not one of the folks who got it free, and then said "oh, gee, I'm missing out on this 50% bonus." Mainly because I already spent my cash becoming a Generalissimo (big kid on the block), and that's all they get. Sorry. :)
-
This is not correct: you just get no BONUS (the new final column). If you didn't get your REWARD (2nd column from right), something went wrong and you should inquire about getting restitution.

This change introduced a bad Glitch in my browser (Firefox) because it tried to open TWO FLASH PLAYER PLUG-INS at the same time (that's a Bozo No-no). I will try to work around it until Tanki stops trying to tell me that *I have a Premium account*, and that *My Premium account is about to expire* ... both at the same time.

Well, I couldn't save this group from a Raider clan, because they weren't aware enough that they were being outnumbered and outgunned. http://s1127.photobucket.com/user/dfoofnik/media/Playing%20Into%20Raiders%20Hands.png.html I saw the same thing happen in a legit battle I joined briefly: the leaders kept playing and finally lost. WHEN YOU ARE WAY AHEAD WITH 5 MINUTES LEFT IN A TDM, you can ALMOST ALWAYS WIN! But *everybody on your team* has to know what's happening and Pause. Don't think you can easily prevail, because some of your players might be zero mults. You will probably be playing 2 against 3. If the leading players are smart enough to Pause and wait it out, the Raiders will have fewer folks to shoot.

Still more raiders trying to steal battle funds
dfoofnik replied to dfoofnik in Still more raiders trying to steal battle funds Archive
If you want to see the definition of raiders, who planted dummy players in Blue so they could get all their players in, thinking that the big 15 score meant a big battle fund. They was fooled! http://s1127.photobucket.com/user/dfoofnik/media/Muslimman%20Raiders.png.html? -
I understand that the object of PAINTS is to SELL THEM and their upgrades. But when you have to spend millions of crystals to be competitive, it is obviously causing an attrition rate among higher ranks. You have a great deal of growth in the lower ranks, but those who don't want to buy crystals are just leaving, and I guess that's the idea: to keep the free players to a minimum. But it is really unpleasant for a lot of those players, and bad impressions spread by word-of-mouth will eventually destroy the recruiting potential for new players.

I think it you look at any upper-rank battle in Polygon DM, you can see that the Vulcans have far too much firepower. They fire off hundreds of shots nonstop. I think it would be a GOOD REDUCTION if either the rate of fire or the overheating tolerance were reduced. Make them fire less or fire for less time. It used to be the huge TWINS that would score every time they spawned, but now it is the Vulcans. Three of them in any one Polygon battle makes it nearly impossible to have actual tactical play among the other players, and I will leave the battle immediately. The last time Isida was increased in power and range, it made them OP, and they were cut back. The answer is not to RAISE up all the other turrets -- then you get a ridiculous up-spiral -- but to achieve some sort of parity among turrets of the same grade.

Practically all Capture The Flag battles will reward the WINNING TEAM with a higher number of crystals based on their scores. So unless you are shooting the lights out, you will benefit from a WIN by your TEAM. MASSACRE is a battle that has a particular scenario for success that is shared only by Polygon CTF -- the opponents' flag is right there where you spawn, and yours is in the enemy territory. Take a sufficient force and return your flag so that you can capture the enemy flag. Rarely, one player may dash to the flag by himself while the others distract and kill the opponents. TWO SIMPLE RULES: 1) If the enemy flag is at your base, DON'T LEAVE IT THERE, ever! This allows an enemy force to converge on a single place. If it is returned, someone has to pick it up again, before the enemy can capture. 2) If you have killed the enemy carrying your flag, DON'T RETURN IT unless it is about to be picked up by another enemy! Wait until your flag carrier is almost to the enemy base. Otherwise, an enemy will grab it there, and now you have to kill him to get it. Many clueless players will allow the enemy flag to sit on the base, or take it to the enemy base while their flag is nowhere to be found. It takes timing to kill the flag holder, then reach the base just as the flag is returned. Rule # 3 is the case for ALL team battles 3) Taking drop boxes you don't need makes your team weaker. Just don't do it!
