If you mean that mines disappear automatically after two minutes, no, they do not until the person who laid those mines dies or they are blown.

Page(s) Updated Updates (Added the August 18 Patch Update #477)

Hello, first of all, please tell us whether you face this problem often or just as a one-off happening? If you face this problem a lot, try clearing your cache (click here if you play on browser, and here if you use the client). If it was a one-off happening, it could be due to a sudden disconnection of your Internet connection. Secondly, some bug exactly like this (Brown/Black screen with no error) surfaced some time ago when Mouse Controls were released. However, that one was fixed on Sep 3rd.

Hello, just wanted to ask a couple of questions: Can multiple teams cross the last challenge and permanently get the Sky paint? Or will the challenges continue until only one team remains? Secondly, how many challenges will there be? Will it be made afterwards so that only the best entries (entries involving complex parkour tricks) survive the challenge and not those who keep it simple but still do the job? For example, if my team makes the jump using mines, Hammer-Dictator and Thunder-Wasp, will it survive alongside entries who have complex turrets in them such as Striker, Magnum or Shaft?

It was hidden, the results are going to be out soon I guess, PM @Zenyth about that. -
The helper who laid the mines is careful not to flip or cause unnecessary difficulties.

I believe you're trying to say what is the aim of this Project? Well, simply put, it is a contest where you have to choose one option to write about, submit it and hopefully win the listed rewards. Keep in mind that you're only allowed to go for one option, not more. Hope that answers your question.

Guide [Issue 68] Pro's Advice #6 - Isida
Hex replied to Hex in [Issue 68] Pro's Advice #6 - Isida Newspaper Archive
Pro's Advice #1: Swinging Your Hull Pro's Advice #2: Controlling your Hull in Format Battles Pro's Advice #3: Knocking Off the Enemy's Aim Pro's Advice #4: Railgun's Warmup Time Pro's Advice #5: Simple and Useful Techniques For Railgun We here at the Official Newspaper are proud to be bringing back a series which proved to be incredibly useful to not only beginners, but also to seasoned professionals looking forward to improve their skills, tactics and strategies. In this installment, we will be looking forward to NBAHbl4 - a Tanki Online tester - to tell us more about Isida. ______________________________________________________________________________________ The Basics Starting right off the bat, NBAHbl4 talks about Isida's angle of effect. It is the angle comprised of several horizontal degrees in which the turret you're using is able to shoot and damage an enemy right in front of you. The angle of effect - or 'cone angle' in official terminology for Isida is exactly 20°, and this value is true for both senses - damaging other tanks or healing teammates. NBAHbl4 mentions that Isida's cone angle is similar to those of Firebird and Freeze, both of which are 20° as well. As you might already have seen, people playing with these three turrets have to constantly move their turrets when moving or circling around a target. This is the first set of skill you'll need to develop to effectively play with Isida. To successfully master this technique, you'll first off need to make sure that the keyboard you're using doesn't ghost at all, and even if it does, it can register at least four keys without crossing out any of them. This is because with Isida, you'll need a minimum of four keys to circle around someone: Up Arrow for moving forward, Left/Right Arrow to move around in the direction you want, Spacebar to shoot and lastly, Z/X to move your turret. Secondly, you'll need to master the skill of moving around without looking in your direction - and this can easily be done by memorizing the surface area of the map you're playing in as well as looking for special landmarks on the map itself, such as a unique wall structure, a ditch, a bridge or just about any house. Now, since it's very important to constantly deal damage to your enemies while using energy-based turrets, it is imperative that you keep your enemy inside the cone angle of your Isida, which in simpler words, is about 10° on the either side of your turret. See the illustration below for more information. Essentially, your target should be inside 5° from the center, the so-called 'safe zone'. If you're successful in keeping the target inside this angle, you will take it out without facing even a single bit of energy loss - something that will be discussed at a later point in this article. In the illustration above, you can see Isida's cone angle, which is the whole of the gray area. The light gray area is the safe zone, while the line in the middle is just there to dissect the whole plane into two sides or parts. As I aforementioned, it is safer and more effective to keep an target inside the safe zone, or between the 5° markers in the diagram. However, doing this is not compulsory, and should only be done in most situations where the target wants to circle around or maneuver about you. If you keep your target either slightly towards the right or the left, you'll have to deal with energy loss. But what is energy loss? Let's talk about a scenario. You are sitting on the flag with Isida and Mammoth surrounded by three teammates and a couple of mines. An attacker comes towards your base, but you haven't spotted 'em quite yet because let's say you were facing in the other direction, healing someone. Suddenly, you hear a mine pop, and you immediately know some enemy is there. The enemy, helped by the pop of the mine, gets jerked into the air, circles around you, spends a couple of seconds killing off other tanks, unites with an Isida and leaves the area. Simultaneously, you were trying to move your turret along in the direction he was moving, but failed to do so because of three main reasons - the most important one being that you suffered energy loss. See, you did notice the attacker after they popped a mine, but since you began firing when they were over you, you already started draining energy. Next, when he circled around you, you also circled your turret in their direction, but failed to align your turret with his hull, therefore draining more useful energy. Lastly, when the attacker united with the Isida, you simply didn't have enough energy to finish them off. Those were the two types of energy draining or loss Isida users generally suffer - energy drained by firing when an enemy is above you and the energy drained due to the inability to follow the enemy's racing hull with your Isida. Next up, NBAHbl4 talks on the incredibly complex yet simple science of healing. Do note that the range and angle of effect, just like in damaging other tanks, is still the perfectly same, so you don't want to be too close to your teammates to regenerate their health as they hammer down the enemies in front of them. To expand, I'll continue with the following points: If you heal your teammates by standing or driving too close to them, you might disturb the direction where they are aiming to go. In the worst case, you might even completely block their path off.The best counter to this is obvious - to stay away at a distance where you can easily heal the teammate where at the same time, he/she can maneuver about and change his/her location. If you are healing a teammate who is just about to shoot his/her projectile, standing too close or bumping into them will risk in setting off their aim. This is pretty much self-explanatory. The point is, stay away from the shooting teammate - and this point becomes even more applicable if the teammate you're healing is using Striker, Railgun, Magnum or Shaft. As an example, here are two methods of healing with Isida: Last but not least, Isida can also be effectively used to counter damage inflicted onto a teammate by fire or ice. It can completely remove the burning or freezing effect from tanks, so use it wisely. Besides, it can bring in a lot of experience points too! What's Changed Since Isida has undergone many changes since the production of this Pro's Advice - and many of those have been radical changes that caused a permanent effect on it. The most notable one of these is the removal of the self-healing parameter. Isida, when under the influence of a Double Power, could literally take out any turret at that time, except for Firebird and Shaft. It was so strong that it could literally survive for minutes in a battle, even in the hottest of DMs. I tested out Isida versus other turrets along with a friend, and here are results: Firebird - T Freeze - W Isida - T Hammer - L Smoky - W Twins - W Ricochet - W Vulcan - W (Pre-pooled) and W (Non-pooled) Thunder - W Railgun - W Shaft - W (Arcade mode), W (Charged up) and L (Pre-charged) Magnum - W Striker - W (One-by-one) and W (Salvo) In A Nutshell In a nutshell, NBAHbl4 emphasizes on the following points: It is highly important to constantly deal damage to an enemy while shooting with Isida. To make sure you don't suffer energy loss, keep the target inside the cone angle of your turret at all times. Owing to this point, attack medium/light hulls from farther away, while make your circle as close as possible when dealing with heavy hulls. Heal teammates carefully! Use the range and cone angle of Isida to make sure you don't accidentally restrict their path or disturb their aim. Use Double Power, it still makes the turret incredibly powerful, since it's currently the highest damage inflicting turret in the game. Whenever you see a person being burned or frozen, use your Isida's abilities to get those effects off immediately. __________________________________________________________________________________________ So there it is, a complete breakdown and expansion of NBAHbl4's points on Isida. Hope you have found this article useful and handy. So, the next time you use Isida, focus on these points and you'll see your efficiency grow! Next month, we'll be focusing on the map Polygon - especially looking at some of the ways and techniques you can use to lead DMs in it. Looking forward to it? Stay tuned!- 16 replies

Hex replied to Hex in [Issue 68] Find Me If You Can! Newspaper Archive
Hello and welcome to yet another contest in the Newspaper! This contest is for those who have good eyes and a sensible knowledge of camouflage. Think you're up for it? ___________________________________________________________________________________________ Introduction: In this contest, five pictures will be provided to you below. Each one of these will have a tank hidden in them somewhere. Your job is to find that tank, highlight it using any image editing software, upload the final image and post it in the Google Form provided. The Pictures: Rules: The rules of this contest are: First of all, let me state that you're tasked to go for all five images in this contest. If you leave a blank empty or write something else in it, your entry will automatically be disqualified. You must highlight the tank using any drawing tool (square, rectangle, oval, circle and so on), and not by cropping it out of the picture or drawing graffiti by pointing a thousand arrows on it. This topic is open for discussion or queries, but DO NOT post the locations of the tanks here. Doing so automatically disqualify you from the contest. Prizes: The prize system for this contest will be based on time, unlike other contests. This makes the challenge even harder and interesting; so, players landing on positions... 1-3 will get a grand prize of 25 000 . 4-8 will be worthy enough of 15 000 . 9-15 will only get a smaller prize of 7 000 .
