Looks like a Lightning Ball. Maybe you hold the spacebar down to use it somewhat akin to an Isida and then release the spacebar to fire the energy ball and it has the ability to damage anyone (within the range of its spherical diameter) in it's flight path.

Mammoth's OD (just like Dictator's OD) is essentially a free repair kit when activated. No other hulls can claim this ability.

At the low ranks it is annoying, I agree. But at the higher ranks (Mk5+) you get that satisfying whrrrrrrrrrrr.

For Shaft, turret movement should count as activity because it is in the game mechanic to lock the hull movement in scope mode.

I don't know if this just affects the lower levels, but I would enter a battle and do no damage while hitting the target. My ping is below 60. What's worse, sometimes I do damage early in the battle and take the top spot more than 2 minutes in. Then all of a sudden I do no damage. I recycle the browser and sometimes it take more than a minute before I am back in battle and I lost several spots on the killboard. I thought this was just a once-in-a-blue-moon glitch, but it is happening more frequently.

Personally, I would go with Rapid-Fire Mode. Combined with Hornet OD and DD, there's really nothing on the battlefield that would survive the insane damage caused by that 3-shot salvo, except maybe a Juggernaut with full health.
