    The War Begins

So how do you vote on the site...I can't find anything where I can vote...I just bought the paint an hour ago. So I need to wait until the next turn?
  2. ByeByeBye

    The War Begins

What time UTC does the new turn begin? Is it at the server restart?
  3. ByeByeBye

    The War Begins

So is everything running smoothly at this point or are there still problems?

    The War Begins

I have been waiting to join the War effort because I knew it was going to be a Cluster F just like everything Tanki does...or actually doesn't do I guess would be more appropriate. So other than containers not being delivered, is the site working OK? Can you vote effectively and are stars being credited properly yet?

    The War Begins

Hi...about how many full 10 minute TDM battles would it take to generate the 5 stars. I know there is no set answer, but an approximation for an average player that comes in 4th, 5th, or 6th most of the time.

    Bugs and Glitches Reports [Closed]

Is something wrong with the reward system today? I keep getting good scores but very poor pay-outs. Did the way rewards are tabulated get changed?
  7. Here's one from the historical archives for Smoky (and me too :) ) Production magic in the old days...they obviously pre-recorded this before the performance and that allowed them to do the TV gig...H I G H They are all blotto, but Stephen Stills seems to be speeding while Neil Young may have imbibed something darker and more debilitating...check his eyes and vacant stare. There were several bass players for Buffalo Springfield and it looks like the current one was either too whacked to stand or more likely, couldn't even make the gig, so they got some guy to sit with his back to the audience and wiggle the bass. Even trashed and lip-syncing, Neil Young is a rock-god.
  8. Mundane pop music factories churn out vapid pablum for the kiddies just like it has always been with pop music...only in the 10s and coming 20s the sheer tonnage of this type of product is, and will be staggering. The musical renaissance we are in the middle of right now has its Yin and its Yang. At the end of each video is the result, and each generates a very acceptable short nice sounding tune...the words are a bit goofy, but... Listen to the girl at the beginning of this video. If you are not interested in what Autotune and production does skip to 4:56 to hear what it did for the girl's very dicey singing...pretty amazing what can be done in the studio now-a-days. If you are not interested in the process, at least skip to 4:48 to hear the finished product...it may make you decide to go back and find out what he did to create the this result...mind boggling.
  9. One of my musical heroes, Tom Waits. Maybe not immediately accessible if you are only fed on pop-pablum, but his brilliant and diverse music is worth spending some time really listening...really listening. Waits is a creative genius and one of the most expressive singers of the last century...even though he doesn't fit the cookie-cutter singer mold. Waits is a poet warrior musician that has just never gotten the credit and appreciation he deserves. I picked "In the Neighborhood" as the first Waits song to listen to since it has a lovely and moving melody. The songs on Swordfishtrombones are are fresh and poignant as the day they were released. These songs may be jarring at first, but they are all brilliant if you take some time with them. Swordfishtrombones would also be one of my desert island discs. click this link to YouTube then click play all...the first song might put you off a bit so go the the next https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLr4qF_D6zoyHYHi_KZwEdtFalhNcUmZ3O
  10. Tasty blues. John Campbell was the real deal bluesman/songsmith. Voodoo Edge is one of his more pop blues arrangements. The link in the spoiler takes you to this marvelously crafted album...other songs show off his steel guitar and raspy voice better, but Voodoo Edge has a more broad base appeal IMO. One Believer would be one of my desert island discs.

    "Let's be Tanki Friends" Event

Tanki just can't seem to do anything good for players without inflicting some sort of pain along with it. These guys have to be the very worst at figuring out how to make players happy.

OK, you are right and I am wrong. so let me ask you a question. Why is there so much similarity between TO and TX. Maps, buildings, textures, etc.if code is not swapped or at least adapted between the two?

    War Herald #3

dumb question: Is one turn one day...21:00 UTC to 20:59 UTC? If not, what constitutes one turn?
  14. He's got very nice hair :) I like the tune a lot. Very crunchy ...and how can you pass up that guitar 360? Not to mention the twirly drum sticks :) What these guys fail to realize is that they will have to fling their guitar at every concert they ever do. Anyway, I like this so much I am putting it into my monthly rotation. Thanks for the post. ============================= New Post, but combining, like a good forum citizen :) ========================== WTH? ...It does sound good after he did some serious editing :) Make sure you watch the last part...funny. The comments on YT are great...I picked out a few of the best for you: Chainbrain Did it come with a capo? Gera Ballesteros Technically you're playing 2 guitars and 1 bass at the same time, now I'm sure... you're the devil. 41 Mhz This is the Pro model too. It comes with a pick despenser, a built in drum machine, its own fiddle bow that stores inside the neck, a barometric gauge and a propane engine powered carrying case. Chainbrain, it does not come with a capo. Bre Solomon i’m sorry a pick dispenser? SOLD thamudi This is by far the Dragon slayer of Guitars Jamie G. Flying to Chernobyl this week to acquire all the fingers needed to play this. Special K People are asking WHAT this thing is, but I want to know WHY this thing is. Cole Lutz When a bass and a guitar love each other very much... Eric G can you add a whammy bar musicguy Would I be able to play Smoke On The Water on it? Austin J. Trevathan A good rule of thumb is to not have a guitar with a neck thicker than your thighs
  15. Berklee College covers Dirty Loops ....OMG...OMG, how these incredibly talented muscians handle these already mondo dynamic Dirty Loops tunes is astounding. The intensity just never lets up. I've said it before, but the wolrd has never seen the likes of music from the 10s...I believe that history will show the 10s and 20s to be the most creative and possibly prolific period in all of music history since we stated banging sticks on the ground and clicking rocks together.
  16. This is very very nice. I've only played it once so far, but I'm putting it in my monthly rotation to listen to more. Without understanding the words, it gets a tad repetitive in the full seven minutes, but half of it is lovely. Thanks for the post....I love finding new stuff.
  17. These Korean kids play so squeaky clean it's amazing. Their name is Dream Session and from what I can tell, I guess some of the personnel changes from time to time for some Korean reason. I think it may be a university band and players graduate and newbies join. From what I could get out of the google translation, they are auditioning a drummer in this video...maybe? (the candidate is in the split screen) Even if you don't like jazz, spend just minute with these superb musical technicians. I guess I really like this because they already act like real session players. There is a beautiful short bass solo at 2:09 to 2:49. It's not improvisational for sure, but she executes it wonderfully. Great things are happening with music in the 10s...the world has never seen the like...and it promises to only get even better in the future! Bonus badass K-Baby bass player (only for the bassoids out there)
  18. It's a early 80s value pack! ...with The Verve 90s cherry on top! These songs make me feel like I should find my gnarly Walkman, Moonwalk down to the club and imbibe a few Long Island Ice Teas and a couple of Slippery Nipples. :) Totally tubular!
  19. In a way it's kind of a shame that "Born to be Wild" gets so much air time and has in the 70s 80s 90s 00s and now even the 10s. Even though it is a rock anthem now and an icon of the late 60s early 70s, the raw aspect of it, which was its original attraction, seems a bit jaded...still a good tune, but, to me, much of it's mojo has been sucked out over the years. Here is another from the same album. All of these Steppenwolf songs were "heavy" in the dawn of heavy rock. Sookie Sookie
  20. I LOVE STEVE MILLER BAND! I've been hooked on Steve Miller from the Boz Scaggs days on Children of the Future and Sailor. Great stuff...now I gotta go listen to Space Cowboy...bet you weren't ready for that :)

I don't see how you can not see how the previous system was more complex. I think it had to have been more complex...you don't. Neither of us are game designers(I assume) so we are at an impasse until we get more information. As far as coding goes, both Unity and Flash use C++ ...so lots of the code from TO could be used in TX. That's why they are so similar; why reinvent the wheel once you have wheels.
  22. Tanki NEVER said that their desire was to create a 2nd DM mode. What they said was they were going to release a 2nd individual play mode...another mode that wasn't a team mode. An alternative to DM if you will. You get your facts messed up and then claim what you have misconstrued as Tanki's intent...and you do this frequently. I think that the reason so many people thought it would be Juggy against everyone else is because of what Tanki originally said. I, like many others, was under the impression that it would be everyone vs Juggy. Personally, I think this would be much more fun...they would have to beef up Juggy quite a bit from it's current parameters and make it truly OP if everyone and his dog were gunning for Juggy. I am disappointed in Juggernaut mode overall, but it is a slight variation on DM so it is OK. I believe that you are correct when you say just let it run for a few weeks. You are also spot on with Freeze...too much buff, but then Tanki's purpose has never been balance...sell those modules and get them MUed asap. "No crystals?...We can fix that!" Be the badboy beast on the block with Freeze but get it MUed asap. "No crystals?...$$$ can fix that!" This marketing strategy will go on as long as Tanki is run by AP. One turret will be the beast for X amount of time then it will switch to a different turret. The sweetheart turret will get nerfed and another will rise. Really a pretty clever marketing strategy for ongoing profits. And for us players, a great man on this very forum said, "Adapt or Die"...I paraphrase...the actual quote was, "New day, new way to play". ;)
  23. I really like this! It isn't as good or even as dramatic as the original, but it is interesting, well produced, and funny...fun metal...whoda thunkit ? Dire Straits - Sultans of Swing (one of my all time favorite songs) ...just in case you want a quick comparison or a ear cleanse ==================================================================================================== If this version of Africa doesn't appeal to you, at least skip ahead to 2:06 to sample the chorus. Then at 4:06 there is a different song where they promote their respective YouTube channels and Patreon. Very clever and well produced. Fun stuff. Toto - Africa (previously posted) original for referance

This is mind boggling to me. How soon we tend to forget. When we had the Battle List, we also had the Battle Button which almost no one used because it sucked. But the Battle Button put you into a random battle almost instantaneously...no queue time and narrower rank brackets...it was more efficient than MM, yet very few players used it because random battles where you can't pick team, duration, or map (just like MM is 100% of the time) are totally lame. Anyway, we are absolutely stuck with MM and it will never go away, so we learn to live with it like any other disability. You and all of us are better off forgetting the past TO because it is gone forever...we (I) need to move on. I did have another idea, but I don't think there is much evidence to back it up, but I'll toss it out there to see what you all think. Maybe AP is fluffing the product to sell one arm off. Bring TO in line with modern game standards, like many of you have said, then sell it off to another company. The big flaw there is how many players TO has lost over the last year and a half...a buyer would be mostly interested in how large the player base is, so putting TO up for sale after hemorrhaging 75% of it's player base is a long shot reason for MM.
  25. Sung in Gaelic, Dúlamán is my favorite song from Altan. Many of their songs are a little hard to get into, but Dúlamán is light, happy, and totally fun. It bounces between verse and chorus very quickly like much folk music. Remember, folk music is generally music you sing and play not nessessarly preformed, so it is usually fairly simple and straight forward with lovely melodies and harmonies. There is a nice little instrument bridge at about 1:50 that moves to a full chorus at 2:08 More Irish folk but in a totally different vein...a totally fun bawdy drinking song. This is a story song and each verse gets more and more far-fetched and exaggerated lyrically. It's kind of like a music joke, so if you don't listen to the whole thing you don't get the punch that would be in a punchline of a spoken joke. I also like this song because I got drunk with these guys back in the late 90's :)
