100% OVERLOOKED: Isida can heal your teammates. Ya left that tiny detail out of your analysis.
-
And yet despite the construction of words, since the update I have encountered many excellent players who absolutely kicked ass with their Isidas. Seems some players know how to use the weapon.
-
I am sure the devs fully intend to drive down the number of Isidas in play. The people who buy the Isida are the people who like the healing role, who like team battles, who enjoy evaluating the battlefield and rushing to the point that need reinforcement.
-
BlavkWasp777 I've been thinking about this and I believe you are right.
-
Reports of Isida's death are greatly exaggerated. Claims Isida can't be used in the DM format are exploded. I've run into many since the change who know what the dickens they are doing. And these players were doing just fine. Modestly prevents me form using "we". What they cannot do any more is, Isida's just can't kill single-handily digest 4 enemies before they are at long-lest taken down. You know. Just like every other turret.

This is pure nonsense. I have used Smoky the most. And it shoots a lot faster than Rail under an version of Rail. And this notion that "ha ha ha I missed a shot that doesn't mater because I reload fast ha ha ha" is so much malarkey its ROFL material. When I am in a battle I realize I have to make every single shot land or else the other guy will probably kill me. This is certainly true of a Rail opponent. As for your format battles Tanki has said 92$ of the time the target will be destroyed in 2 shots.
-
I would not say Rail was overpowered before but making its damage less variable certainly does not ruin Rail. Every other hull and turret was adjusted too. Over time players will suss out the new winning tactics. As for not seeing Rail much in non-format battles ... I do not know what it is like at Gizmo level but for those of us raising through the ranks I see Rails in every battle that has more than a handful of players. It is one of the most used turrets out there... We aren't Giznos but we are players too.

Pray... tell us what nuanced tactics are celebrated n the Poly CP slaughterhouse?
-
I've made this argument from a different angle. Currently you log on and see the vast majority of games are tanks slaughterhouse games like Poly CP. (Noise, Sandbox, etc) That means the data the devs have collected is dominated by data from these sort of games. So the "fixes" are heavily influenced by the conditions of the slaughterhouse ... which as yo say do not reflect condition when playing on tactical maps.
-
Polugon CP battles are by definition boring.

You can do the same thing in response. It is no different from today except the timeframe is different. Think things through. ;)
-
Looks like there is a random element built into damage then. (perhaps)
-
Those are the missions you click [CHANGE]. You get one freebie every day. What you probably do not realize is my build is pretty weak on DM missions too. So I almost always change out of them.
-
You are correct.
-
Small variations in distance probably.
-
I think the term "overpowered" is used far too easily. I try to avoid using it. The Freeze turret is now overpowered.
-
The old Isida on or off drugs was vastly over-powered compared to other hulls. You are in denial of something quite obvious.
-
It doesn't bother me that these formats exist. As a newer player it is just curious to me that such a thing came about. Thanks for the feedback.
-
Great perspective. :) (I am out of thumbs-up votes for today.)

So far the changes to Smoky have not been so bad that I cannot play the role I've learned so far. I know Isida players are upset. But in my limited use so far I ha no problem killing when I had to. I just couldn't take on a string of enemy and keep going. But the changes to the hulls seem more dramatic. I am not sure evening the hit points will prove wise. But so far Viking was not the horrible thing I found on the (laggy/drug-mad) test server. Titan is quite nimble. It sort of handles like the old Viking wen on a speed-up. My Titan/Thunky alternate account looks like it will be even more fun. So so far, I am encouraged compared to a week ago. But I really want to hear that all kits will be for sale during the Halloween sale period.
-
Thanks for that info. I tried the alteration on the test server. But that thing was so laggy and people were so drug-mad that you could not draw any conclusions.
-
I experienced an invisible player before the update. I saw on-map supply boxes floating up into the air just before I myself tried picking them up. And my tank kept dying to dameage i cole neither see nor hear.
-
To be fair, they announced Oct 20th in VLOG 110.
-
I was nowhere near as good as that but I am quite relieved at first playing. I'm more worried about which medium hull is the one for me now. But I so far Smoky sems OK. the turret speed changes haven't been as bad as I thought ... so far. Heh, I forgot to mention ... yeah I beat up a m3 Islda with my m1/m1 smokey/viking so that much has been a big change I reckon.

Posted this in the other thread but I think this is important. My understanding from veteran players is there will be a sale on Halloween. I really hope Tanki makes ALL kits available for sale in the garage during this sale. There are substantial changes to this update and many players need a specific kit to adapt to said changes. That is why this sale is special. It is indefensible that some of those lucky players will be able to buy their needed kits right away and at an even better price, while other equally-needy players will have to wait one or two more weeks and then pay full price. Meanwhile all those two weeks they will be playing with unwanted equipment and cursing Tanki Company. All for no fault on the players' parts. Just because of luck on what happens to be available after the update goes through. (I've counted on my fingers and toes and I am pretty sure I am in the wait-two-more-weeks group.) Why would Tanki Company want to make this sort of public relations blunder, when all they have to do is make all kits available in the garage during the next sale?
