@ @Imok-Urok. If you remember the 10 crystal blue boxes, then you remember when the losing team got zero, zilch, nada for their efforts. At least now they get something.

Some darn good names on here. But I'm having a hard enough time keeping up with the ones I have. now if only someone would organize this thing.

If the enemy is on their back, then usually I let them be, unless they are blocking a ramp I need to get up and they don't look like they will do me the favor and self-destruct. But if the enemy tank is on their side, then yes I will do the decent thing and kill them. They can turn the turret and kill me or my teammates or right themselves and go about their merry way. If a teammate is on their back and there is a chance I can help them by sliding them up or down a ramp, then I will give it the ol' college try. If they are on their side and trying to right themselves, I'll try to get them in a better position to do so. If they are on their side with no recoil weapon and I don't have a weapon with power, such as Firebird, then I'll try to push them as if they were on their back. But then, sometimes it depends on what is happening in the immediate area. If helping a teammate means we both may get killed, then I'll save my own neck. If I'm on my back, I will self-destruct. If I'm on my side and there are teammates close by, I'll wait to see if any will help me. If they all pass me by I'll call them a few names through my monitor and self destruct.

It's darn embarrassing when you get taken out by a Firebird/Wasp while reloading. A tank with full health can survive one shot and then come up to you and wait until you try to kill them. They know if you fire you will commit suicide and reduce your team's points. While using Striker, a mammoth was coming at me while trying to reload. I encountered him before and knew he could survive a full load without DA. By the time I got a full load, he was very close to me. I let go with all four rockets. He survived, I did not. My Dictator M1 disintegrated. If you had a Striker module on, would that also protect you from your own shots?

Wait...when you sign in, you use Nickname and Password. If the two don't coincide, the account can't be accessed. Let me get this right....You typed in Delta_Rail and your password and got an account with a different Nickname? Sounds fishy to me.

I'm not talking about capping one more flag than the other team. I'm saying that once they get one flag, they quit trying. If they manage to get one cap at the beginning of the battle, then they spend the rest of the time at the base and don't try for another. I call it "Defending something they ain't got." 'Which is capture points. Today, I saw another example of loser mentality. I think it was Barda. A Wasp came into our base (red and the losing team) stole the flag, loaded speed and sped away. While he was grabbing the flag, a railgun /dictator wounded the Wasp. The route the Wasp took made him an open target for the railgun and the Dictator could have easily killed him. But he made no attempt to stop the Wasp. Instead, he just sat there behind a building looking for another tank to shoot at. I was nearby in my Firebird/Hornet. Had the railgun killed the Wasp, I could have loaded speed and saved the flag. The Wasp made the cap. Later, the same Wasp was headed for our base. I saw him take a hit. I loaded speed in hopes of meeting the Wasp. But he was faster than I was, but I did block his escape route. Instead of tangling with me, he went around the same Railgun/Dictator, even crossed his line of sight. The Railgun made no attempt to shoot at the Wasp. Instead, he shot at a Mammoth on the other side of the map. He was playing TDM and not CTF...as is my point. But he wasn't the only one. The entire team was at or close to our base. I think other team mates could have gotten that Wasp. Blue team was spread around the map and had all the routes covered. After seeing how easily the Wasp got through, Blue raided our base and Red quit.

With full health, I've survived 4 rockets from striker (but just barely), have enough time to go for the kill. Striker, at my level, is waaay too easy to kill. I suppose the rockets I've survived were from M0s. On one of my other accounts, I have Striker M0. After shooting my load, I'm an east target, unless I can load speed and get the hell out of Dodge. (Yuck, that phrase ages me). The problem I'm having with Stiker, is when I shoot a single shot, I don't know if to aim with the left or right side, since the rocket seems to go where the tank is pointed. If you are facing the enemy tank head on, the single rocket will mess its intended target. I've seen the homing device in action. But it takes so long for the rocket to make its turn, the intended target has time to move to the opposite direction. At close range, the homing device is useless.

I understand Camp map. The opposing team's flag is in your base. If you are holding the flag and make some kills you get a few extra points, while the one that kills the flag bearer will get extra points. It's difficult to cap a flag without the help of your team. Usually 3 or 4 members will try to out flank the opposing team and take off with the flag. That's different strategy from, say, Noise, Silence, Parma or any of the other maps. Game mechanics are different. I'm talking about the other maps. such as mentioned above. In my given example: This happened a few days ago. When the battle started, we were blue, I immediately went up to grab the flag. Almost made it. Got as far as the long fall and was killed just before jumping. That's when I realized my entire team was still camping. I camped awhile, waiting for my team to make a move, they never did. The other two times were similar to the first try. Killed just before making the jump. With the comment the team mate made, I knew my team was not interested in winning the battle. So, I left. That's what I don't understand. Why wouldn't a team be interested in winning? Why are they satisfied with losing? Is <100 crystals really worth the effort? Makes me wonder if these very players are the ones on other maps with other teams, are the ones who camp at the base without sniper weapons and lets the others do all the work, while they do the bare minimum or nothing at all. They don't even defend the flag. They sit there and wait for the enemy to come to them. It's as if they don't understand the concept of the battle mode.

Ya know, you're right. When I first started playing (on my main) it was around 2008, I think. When you signed up, there was a box that had to be checked stating you were over 13 years old. But of course we all know that didn't stop anyone under 13 from checking the box. It was either in the game rules or the EULA which stated that the game concept was too complicated for younger children. I think TO was right then and is still right. You have to be flexible. Strategy can change from moment to moment and you have to be ready to change with it. Prioritizing is a must. Which is more important? Covering your team mate's 6 to make sure the enemy flag makes back to your base or veering off course to pick up a speed box when the one you are following is a lumbering Titan or Mammoth with little health left? Younger kids don't have the ability to problem solve on a larger scale at short notice. Yes, this is a game. But games can be teachers, too, but only if you have the foundation to build on. For instance, team work. Does an 8 year old have the ability to conceive the concept of team work? If you sit back and watch how a losing team works, all you can say is...It's no wonder they are losing. It's every man for himself. They are individuals who happen to be on a team, but are working as individuals. So often I see the mentality of, "Me, me, me. Not you...ME. It's all about Me. The solar system revolves around ME. I'm the only one that counts around here. I'M the important one." Yes, the game has changed and so has the mentality.

Why is it many battles start out as TDM, end up as TDM but is not a TDM battle? CP: Players will go right by a control point belonging to the enemy and not stop to change its color. Instead, they go after an enemy tank that's no where near a control point. CTF: A team will capture one flag and never try for another. Why is that? I've also seen teams not ever leave the base and never try for a flag. They must know that its the team with the most flags or the most control points that wins the battle and the most crystals. They can't all have kill missions. Sometimes, in team chat, I'll ask if this is (CTF/CP) or TDM? They come back with the right answer. In one recent CTF battle on Noise, no one had tried for the flag. I tried several times to grab the flag. Three times I was successful and almost made it out of their base each time. Had I had help, we would have made those 3 flags. I mentioned that in team chat. One of my team mates said, "Good for you. Keep trying, you may get one." I left. I checked on the score and our team was slaughtered. Top scorer didn't have very many kills, I doubt that he even got 100 crystals. So, tell me, why do teams do that? What is wrong with the team mentality?

On my old computer, my fps and ping were all over the place. Some days it was good, other days it was impossible to play at all. It was a very basic computer, unable to keep up , but never got the rubberbanding effect. It finally gave up before the second update of the client. Last week, I bought a gaming computer with a few bells and whistles. Now, my fps and ping are steady and well within playing range, but now have rubberbanding. My computer should be able to keep up without any problems. It's designed to play high end mmorpg's. So it should be able to keep up with TO without any problems. That's why I was wondering if the rubberbanding I'm experiencing is because some are playing through the client and I am not.
-
It seems since the downloadable game client came into existence, players are rubberbanding all over the place. I haven't downloaded the game client, yet. Is that the reason? A few days ago, I was playing on Brest. I was going up the ramp in our base where the snipers are. Everyone up there was standing still, which isn't unusual. I got into my sniping position, then the whole map just went crazy. Everyone was running around like angry ants, explosions all over the the place. Some of the rubberbanding affects are very illogical. For example: I come up behind someone and start engulfing him in flames. Suddenly, he's behind me with Twins attacking me. Then he's several feet in front of me and I have no health left. How is it at all possible, that I would initiate the attack from behind, but then he's way in back of me, attacking me from behind and I'm the one that dies. Yesterday, again on Brest, I had respawned on the upper deck where the snipers are. (Except in that battle all the snipers were spread around outside). I started going down the ramp when an enemy tank came around the back entrance, started up the ramp I was on. He had Rico and I had Railgun. I fired at him, direct close range hit. My Railgun was about to discharge again and he disappeared. I realized I was being attacked from behind and the tank I shot was suddenly up on the top landing where the health pack respawn is, firing at me from that position. Is it possible some players are exploiting the rubberband effect and have developed a hack imitating the rubberband effect?

Funny bits and things that don't make sense in Tanki
Mentosis replied to Epic_Space_Mango18 in Archive
On Industrial Zone: If you get on top of the barn near the red flag, you tank sinks into the tin like it was a cloud. On Noise: If you land on top of the dummy tank in blue area, there's about 3-4 inches between the dummy tank and yours. Occasionally, a FireBird will attack me, but nothing is coming out of his barrel. I can't help imagine the tank stopping, a crew member gets out, pulls out his lighter, opens a little door and lights the pilot light. -
Aaahhh. You do have a point. Don't use the pause button. How many times can one be killed in 2 minutes 30 seconds? So, not only do I have to anticipate having to go to the bathroom in 5 minutes, so I wait in the lobby for 5 more minutes, just in case. But now, in TDM, I can be reported as a multi (videos may verify that) and in DM I'm a prime target. I know TO will not reverse this timer. It's not because they can't, but rather because they know they are in full control and they relish that. I just don't like some human telling me that if I have to go to the bathroom or do something else that may or may take 2 minutes or less, then I will have to under go some type of punishment. TO used to claim, "Take a break, your tank will be waiting for you when you get back." At one time, they also suggested the player has time to eat. But that one didn't last long. This suggestion, they did eliminate.

Oh, I see. You know I never knew I was a freak of Nature. Thanks for pointing that out. Not only am I crippled, but I can't hold back Mother Nature for 10 minutes, either. Maybe my condition should be written down in the medical journals. I'll have to tell my Doctor about this abnormality.
-
You're not thinking logically. Have you ever gotten ready to go somewhere and just as you're about to walk out the door, you think to yourself, "Ooppss, guess I better go to the bathroom first." Now tell me, you knew you were leaving in about 5 minutes, so why didn't you go to the bathroom then, instead of waiting before walking out the door? Maybe because you didn't have to go 5 minutes ago? :(
-
i have a permanently crippled leg and have to walk with a cane. Consequently, I can't walk fast and certainly can't run. I just timed the potty break. I grabbed my cane, walked out of the den, down the hall, went into the bathroom, peed, wiped, washed my hands, dried them and came back to the desk using the same itinerary as mentioned above, sat down and looked at the timer. It took 2 minutes 30 seconds. If I had been in a battle, I would have been kicked out for answering the call of Mother Nature, using good hygiene and being crippled. I had read a few posts that suggested going to the bathroom before entering the battle. Yeah, right, nice try. Go to the bathroom and your bladder says, "Uh-huh. not yet." And my bowels say, "Nope nothing here either." Then you figure you are good to go. Five minutes into the battle, one or the other or both exit points say, "Sorry to have disappointed you, while ago, we now have the results you were looking for." You tell your bladder/bowels, "Nope, you didn't have to go five minutes ago, so now you're going to have to wait 10 more minutes. You see, I'm playing this game and if I stop now, I'll get kicked out. You do understand my position, here. Right?" So, here you are, in the heat of battle, arguing with Mother Nature. Guess who's going to win? And I'm not talking about red or blue teams. Well, I guess you could always insert a cork. I can see the headlines now: "Tanki Online player kills family with flying cork while running to the bathroom." I wonder if that would hit the "News and Announcements" section of the TO forum.

I read it to say that all non-pro battles will be 15 minutes and you have to have a premium or a pro pass to create 30 and 60 minute battles.
-
Non-Buyers will play in 60 minute battles to get a bunch of crystals. They play hard to get to the top of the list and stay there. Sure, 60 minute battles can be exhausting, but it can also be rewarding. Now, Non-Buyers can only create 15 minute battles which reduces the amount of crystals that can be earned and less chance to compete with Buyers. At that rate, Buyers will be swarming in on the 15 minute battles to decimate the Non-Buyers (because they know Non-Buyers won't be in 30 nor 60 minute battles). Well, Tanki, just keep up with these "wonderful" updates and you won't have to worry about Non-Buyers, because you will have made it impossible for them the play, thus, there won't be any left. This is a sneaky way of making this a P2P game without actually having to say so. The next generation of players will see how difficult it is to compete without spending RWM and they, in turn, will become buyers. I'm still wondering where the "Rebalance" is. If it's there, then it must be for the buyers, because, as a Non-Buyer, I don't see it. If you want a "Rebalance" that will work, why not make servers strictly for Non-Buyers only (with a decrease in cost of hulls, weapons, etc. since they don't make very much to begin with), Buyers only (with high priced weapons, hulls, etc), and servers where both can play. Nope, that will never happen. Tanki is out for the money (sure would like to know where those multi-millions of dollars are going...or is it more like multi-billions). Well keep up the "good" work, Tanki, and you're wish will come true. All the Old-Timers will be no more. Buyers Rule!!

Barely enough time to do "bodily functions", get a drink and snack and let the dog out. Guess you let the dog out when doing "functions" and let the dog in when you get a drink and snack. I'll have to time that myself.

If players are logged into a battle: They are jumping ghosts, does that mean they are having problems logging in? They are stationary ghosts, does that mean they have gone to the garage? Are nowhere to be seen, where are they?

Primary language is American English. I learned Latin in High School. My Great Grandparents on my Dad's side came from Germany and my Great Grandparents on my Mom's side came from Poland. My Grandparents on both sides spoke English and their Parent's Native Tongue. German and Polish were passed down to the other generations. When my Great Grandparents and Grandparents on my Mom's side got together, they spoke a combination of Polish and English with a smidgen of German tossed in for good measure. I'm sure they did that so we younger Kids couldn't understand the conversation. It worked very well.

I'll survive WW 3 with my dog's crate and dog in it, hand towel, small fan (my dog loves to lay in front of the fan), alarm clock, and backpack. Hummmm. Doesn't sound very promising.

How is this stealing? I've seen people drop pennies at the gas station, look to see what dropped and then drive off. Do you really think they will come back hours later or even minutes later to retrieve those coins? I hardly think so. I don't walk around specifically looking for money, but if I happen to look down and see one, I will pick it up. But if I see someone drop money, I will tell that person. If they don't want it, I'll wait until they walk away and then I'll pick it up. I see nothing wrong with claiming something that has been discarded and declared unwanted.
