  1. Why have one barrel? Why not let it shoot one missile out of the first of 4 barrels it currently has? This would be a decent buff. Given the context of this thread, is that what you're going for, or just a rework?
  2. You'll see flocks of players coming to the Forum complaining about Hornet's Overdrive being useless or made useless, especially the ones that use it with Railgun, Firebird and Thunder. You listed nerfs for the other Overdrive but this one sounds like a really big buff for the melee turrets.

    Let's Discuss Railgun!

When it was implemented, it originally had a 50% maximum damage increase. Then 2 days later, it was announced that the maximum damage increase would be +90%. Four months of sketchy damage distribution later, it was reduced to 70%. I believe some people are just too lucky with the RNG, and some are just completely unlucky with it and alternatives would be better for them. I can only imagine the player feedback if it were changed to +50%, like it was when it was implemented. I do believe Railgun's newest alterations were meant to appease the Stock Railgun players that had trouble dealing with protection modules in the higher ranks. I can't comprehend "Death Herald" Compulsator and Hyperspace Rounds' current existence.
  4. This might just be from perspective, but is it really hard-earned? On the account I'm trying to get back on track, it didn't have much supplies, and now I'm close to 1,000 in everything except repair kits, despite using supplies every battle. I don't play excessively on it. Just do the missions, maybe a few more MM battles for fun, and then that's it.

    Zekrom's RTL

So your name did have something to do with Pokemon. All those Pokemon commercials with Zekrom and that other white dragon Pokemon come back to mind now.

Tanki Picture of the Day - Have any?

But that would be inconvenient to him (assuming that he didn't have much time), since it would take time for Forumers to respond, especially if it's around this time. You should have lowballed it with 3 golds, but as long as you're happy that you're now a . :)

    Let's Discuss Viking!

Yup, different turret mechanics make different turrets better/worse than each other when you apply fixed parameters to them. Railgun with Viking's Overdrive is much better than Vulcan with Viking's Overdrive, because that massive chunk of damage is held within one shot, while Vulcan has to keep the bullets trained on the enemy to even reach that damage. And when you combine that with the increased firing rate that Railgun has, it dishes out much more damage than Vulcan. Was playing Vulcan + Viking M0 just now on a lower account and it took me close to 3 seconds of my Overdrive to take down a Wasp with double armour. I had Viking's Overdrive and double damage enabled. The Wasp was moving and I had to move my Vulcan with it, which took out a few ticks.

    Let's Discuss Shaft!

Ok, what you're describing there may just be Shaft's arcade damage range. Your Shaft is M3, and I'm willing to believe that it has maybe 4 upgrades on it. Your Shaft's arcade damage range would be about 66 metres, and the maximum damage range would be 55 metres. The weak damage on Shaft's arcade shot is 25%, meaning that if your arcade shot deals 400 damage up close, after 66 metres, it will deal 100 damage. When enemies are at a particular distance away from you, you are unable to see their names and supplies. For me, this range is usually farther than my Shaft's arcade shot range, except when I'm around a corner. Normal damage should be the damage you deal up close. If your Shaft (assuming that it's Stock M3) deals 145-167 damage "Normally", then get closer. Now, you've been using Shaft on that account for 60+ hours, so you've played almost 3 days straight with it. The fact that you've played it for so long and only now reported this issue, would lead me to believe that it is not you being out of range, but a genuine bug. While playing it (Rapid-Fire Mode and Stock Shaft) this morning, I noticed no such bug. I will play a bit to see if I notice this.
  9. If you're using a non-splash damage turret, yeah. If the enemies are packed together, like defenders, a splash damage turret can focus on one (preferably the heavy hull) and wipe out another next to it. I see this with Thunders and Magnums all the time.
  10. Well allowing it to see enemy mines and not changing any other parameter technically is a buff. Now, since I use Hornet mostly on this account these days, I have a dislike for mines, since they always seem to damage me on the lucky end of the spectrum, while my mines always seem to get on the average damage or below (it's really infuriating). My Hornet is just above 1,800 Hp, which is around the average damage for a mine. If I had 2,000 HP, I'd have more leeway to survive, but that is still 400 potential damage the mine could have to kill me. If the Hornet just spawned and wants to use its Overdrive, it would use double damage. ANd if it's driving around to get to enemies, then mines can kill it. I've had instances where a random mine stopped me from massacring 4 players. If I see where the mines are, I can avoid it and massacre those players because I was able to survive when I wouldn't have been able to. If this was to be implemented, leave it as a Hornet-only mechanic, and not for the entire team.
  11. Then there would be less kills, less enjoyment coming from kills, and less stars for the people who pray to Hazel for good luck in their kill-stealing abilities. To quote the V-Log #200 when they were discussing the big Isida change back in January, "It's very hard to destroy a tank when it's constantly being repaired by Isida. Even if it's just sitting still and firing. That's just not fun. Fun is when everyone blows up." I'm willing to bet that the low survival rate of hulls in general is what fuels the current balance: fast-paced, easy-to-die gameplay. Part of the enjoyment is that the easy-to-die experience doesn't only apply to you, it applies to your enemies as well. And while you'd be glad that you have more survivability, you'd be upset that you just as equally can't kill them and enjoy a nice score in battles. It might even fuel frustration at this one guy who always gets away from you when you're about to kill him.

    Let's Discuss Overdrives

Yes, all allies affected by Dictator's Overdrive will receive an instant 50% Overdrive charge. This is why having at least one Dictator on the team is important. As you have used Viking for a long time and still using it, it i most beneficial to Viking and Titan, as they have the slowest Overdrive charge times, and 50% Overdrive charge on the spot is deducting ~2 minutes off of your Viking's Overdrive charge.

    Let's Discuss Shaft!

I gotta upgrade my Hornet real bad. I'm like a glass cannon when using it with Shaft and 200 more HP would help drastically. Hornet gain a large boost in statistics from M2 to M3. Didn't expect to be put with those ranks but I made it work. And in this one, I had to do the majority of the defending and flag returning from halfway across the map. But it was somewhat easy as only 3 of the enemies were attacking (during the entire battle) while the others were either in the middle or being killed. It was funny watching Chriis, TOT-KEKC and a Hunter Freeze try to assassinate me every time they attack. One of them would always deviate their attention from the flag and go towards me. Held it at 0 - 0 to draw it. The first one was RFM, the second one was Stock Shaft. Hornet's Overdrive with Shaft allows you to postpone your usage of double damage until after the effect is gone, which is when it is needed the most, I've seen.

    Let's Discuss Augments

Alright, something is up. I'm seeing an increase in the number of Subcalibre Rounds users down in the ranks of - . Is it suddenly viable down there or something? Was it always viable but people were afraid to lose their splash damage?

What to buy? Which is better?

I'd recommend a kit with Dictator or Titan, preferably Dictator. Both Stormbringer and Maestro are great kits. I have experience with Vulcan, so I lean heavily towards Stormbringer. You'd need some experience with Vulcan to know how to handle. And when you do, you can pair it almost perfectly with Dictator's maneuverability when steering to keep the train of bullets on the target.

Anyone out there willing to write a Wasp Vulcan x Freeze Hunter fanfiction?

    Teamwork in MM

Have you ever had an experience where you and a random player were instantly in sync, and pulled off tactics to make your team win, or make your loss less burdensome? Share it! Here's mine. Cologne CTF. I was one of the first to spawn. I moved the camera vertically and saw the Overdrive box was one of the first boxes to fall at the start of the game. While heading for it, a Freeze shot from behind me. Now, knowing that Vulcan will not benefit as much from a very early Wasp Overdrive, than say, if it were on Dictator or Titan, I decided that the Overdrive box would go to the player if they weren't using Wasp. I turn around near the box and it was on a Hunter. I then let him take the box and went after the flag. I stole it and the Hunter zapped the 3 enemies going after me. I then capture the flag, and went back to the middle to defend said Hunter when he took the flag next. An immediate 2-0 lead in the first minute. Everyone then spawned in from both teams but we had better players. At the last flag to end the battle, this happened: The enemy team came in right after the 2nd picture and almost killed us. The 2nd onslaught kill M_E_D_O and returned the flag. We then just as easily waltzed into their base, took it and captured it immediately. GG 5-0.

    Complaint Book

I understand perfectly. There doesn't seem to be creole in what you're saying. If the player that you saw as the hacker is the white Firebird + Hunter, then your footage does not show us any jump hacking or speed hacking. I reviewed the first 10 seconds repeatedly and very clearly. The player doesn't seem to be hacking to me. The way their Hunter turned looked suspicious, but that's it.
  21. This was the case every time I went on the Test Server, which was in the HTML version. People who play in HTML seem to have this advantage.

    "My Flag" -complainers

That was the most alpha thing you could have done in that scenario. But sometimes, you just have to wonder if they have a "Capture x flags" mission they need to be done. It's the most understandable excuse for the player's actions, but that isn't to say that it's a good one.

    Let's Discuss Railgun!

So many different Railguns, with different damages, and different firing rates. it's hard to know how to react when one shoots you out of nowhere. It could have been an RD Railgun that go unlucky with its damage, who knows if the next one would be on the lucky end of the damage distribution. It could have been a RD Railgun or Scout, but you'll never know until the 2nd shot, which may come swiftly and kill you, if it's a Scout. It's the unpredictability that gets you. And when there are many on one team, you have all these different damages and firing rates to look out for. Falcon is a must.

Episode 222 of the V-LOG is live!

I'd enjoy it more if the players that I have to latch onto weren't mostly Vikings. I hate having my beam disconnected because of the height difference of my Hunter to their Vikings, especially when driving and healing. Didn't get good scores the past few times I've used it. My allies were all spread out. Absolutely cannot relate to this 100%. Although it is nice the couple of times where Twins would continuously shoot a light hull that is very clearly being healed by me and not go after the healer, but the majority immediately switch focus when they see the beam. And not much effort on average it put into trying to keep me alive. I really admire those brave Viking users that actually block the shots from hitting me though.
