Yesterday MU'ing one of my three turret protections cost 45,000 Xtals. Today each one of them now costs 45,000 Xtals to MU. I bought that protection with a kit so i paid real money for it. Is that even legal? Matchmucking, drones for druggers and now making us pay three times for the thing I've already paid for!

So, the reason MM was forced upon us was for the mobile game. Anyone played it yet? I've seen some screenshots but can't find any feedback. has the testing started? Simplify the management of battles for a smaller screen with MM, then add new overdrives, a module builder, drones, and who knows what else to make it more complicated. Do the devs/owners pull these update ideas out of a hat? Are they planning to take tanki to a purely mobile platform perhaps? On the plus side there are a lot more drug free pro games going on so I'm playing just as much but "paying" less!

I played for a couple of hours today just to make sure I don't like matchmaking ( I don't ) and to see the effect on pro matches ( not much, still limited to mostly small slaughter fest maps full of druggers ). What I don't understand is that not only doesn't it tell you where you are going but it doesn't tell you when you are there. I'm not a fan of the small cramped maps and I've only played some a couple of times so it would be good if the system could at least let you know where you are. Now that we can't see the available maps does anyone know how many are in use? 2 hours play and all I got where the small maps. I think I'll continue to complete the mission chain (but only one a day instead of all 3) and see if it gets better in the next week or two. By better I mean no MM! As for spending any more money on this game. . . . . . not until things improve. Vote with your wallets guys and gals! A week or two of no income might see a change around.

Now I know why the missions have gotten so easy of late. I could complete all 3 in a battle and a half unless I got one of the 1000 experience battles. I had 30 minutes to play today. Midweek lunchtime not really a high point in the battle day I would have thought. Waited for 30 seconds to be dumped into a whitewash silence rugby with a few minutes to go match with unplayable lag. I don't normally get any lag. Died a lot. Waited 3 minutes for the server to kick me out Waited 3 more minutes for the server to kick me out. Read this thread while the progress bar sat immobile for 5 minutes then the server kicked me out, Finally got into a game by just hitting the random battle button (main mission was for rugby mode but I already waited longer than it would have taken me to complete it) multed around collecting double armor boxes foe a while before getting into the game. I know it's going to take a while to get this system sorted out and I imagine it's been implemented to conserve server space and therefore money, but if it makes the game unplayable or really annoying to play then I can't see much of a future for it or Tanki. I can't just drop in for 10 minutes, roam around Massacre in a big tank and kill people. which was most of what I liked about the game. I wonder If I can get a refund on purchases now that the game is broken?

Cure for the general blues? Tanki is boring the crap out of me at the moment. I'm outgunned and out hulled in every battle. Sick to death of M4 twins, finger jammed on the space bar hitting 12345 as fast as possible. Spending hundreds if not thousands of Xtals per game in drugs to get maybe 40 back because the team I'm on seems to be made up entirely of chimps at the zoo or drunkards mashing the keys with their foreheads. BORED BORED BORED Someone tell me the secret of having all the drugs active all the time. I swear I've seen players self destruct when the drugs run out so they can respawn with a fresh set and go all over again. Is there light at the end of the tunnel or is it a railgun on drugs just about to do 4000 points of damage to my 3500 hp tank? Oh and a little reminder to the 5 year olds. If the whole team goes tear-arsing off towards the opposition's flag it leaves ours undefended, idiots. Help, anyone?
-
Thanks for explaining. I'm getting fed up of constantly getting creamed by M3+ players with my M2 equipment when they are a rank or two ahead of me.
-
How the hell does a player like Nubiru for instance, get to lieutenant general rank in 20 hours of play manage to unlock M3 equipment 2 ranks early and have legacy modules for protection? Anyone?
-
Yes it was when hot but not glowing red. Sometimes it works no problem heading into trouble, firing and hitting 1 and a full heal. Next time sat behind cover miles from the action and just the first 1000hp then nothing. There doesn't seem to be any constancy to it.
-
I'm having a problem with repair kits and vulcan. I get the initial 1000 hp heal but then nothing. I'm not getting hit during the heal and it only happens about half the time. Anyone come across this? I posted in the glitch section and got ignored so I'm back here. Oh did the instant heat up glitch get solved too 'cause Er read above.
-
Help needed. I'm suffering from the Vulcan heat glitch (which I thought had been sorted) and repair kits that don't repair me. M2 Vulcan and Titan heats up as soon as I hit the trigger but only sometimes and repair kits don't even repair the 1000hp they are supposed to and won't repair for 3 seconds even though I'm not taking damage. Any ideas?

CTF RGB and ASL if I'm in a camping mood as targets come to me and become Viking fodder. CPT and TDM if I want to drive around. DM only when I have to I get tired of the spawn/shoot tank in front while being shot from behind/die/repeat.
-
Yeah Viking is an ideal camping turret and I do, quite a lot in fact! But there is something very satisfying about thundering up the map, albeit slowly, gunning tanks down and getting the whole opposition focussed on me while the wasp nicks the flag and belts off with it :D

Maybe not for noobs but there are a couple of turrets that Vulcan can go one to one with. Those being Shaft and Striker! If you shoot the tank at it's extremities then you can turn the tank enough to put them off aim, particularly striker as it takes a while to lock on. Double armor also protects against the heating effect. Vulcan is good for locating hiding tanks as it shows constant HP when you hit a tank. spray bullets into trees and foliage and wait for a hit. It's also vey good at shooting through small gaps that are not possible for other turrets. The clever Vulcan can shoot at tanks that can't shoot back! The turret rotation alt is pants,as you say, but the modified firing rate alt speeds up spin up and down and lets you shoot for 50% longer before you start generating heat. The 25% decrease in damage is more than made up for by the longer firing rate and faster attack. I played most of the 12 Day War with Titan Vulcan at M2 and kicked ass maintaining nearly 3 to 1 K/D over the period.

I had some long missions today so I played in about 14 different games, every single one a blowout. Reasons- Drugs, overdrive, crap players. Drugs, it's gotten to the point where if you don't constantly drug it's not worth playing unless you enjoy getting one shotted by just about any turret or freeze/firebird/isidia touch you for a second. It used to be that you could get shot by twins all day and not loose any life. M3+ twins DD = a three shot kill on an unprotected titan. Overdrive, like drugs but worse not only does it give you all the drugs for 30 seconds but in that 30 seconds the drugs have cooled down so you can go straight back on them. getting killed doesn't get you an overdrive killing does and enables players to be on overdrive practically permanently. Crap players. this is the one I have a hard time figuring. I'm now playing with the top ranking players in the game and I still see tankers who can't turn their turret, Have an overdrive star but drive around teammates on the brink of death, take supply drops even if they are on full health or DD already. Charge off towards the flag without thought of defending their own, and abandon a game to try and collect a box with 1000 crystals in it when winning the game would give them a decent chunk of that anyway. I would have thought by now that the game would have weeded out these players so that the games would be more enjoyable, have an element of strategy and tactics to them. I think I can see why so many people have low ranking accounts.
-
Yeah, I can't see what all the fuss is about either. My stats say I've caught 24 gold boxes, funnily enough that's exactly how many I have dropped. Gotta love those 1 player private battles :D

What makes you Mad in Tanki? Things you hate/like in the game?
Matt_Black replied to Ditzy-Dip in Archive
Players not using mines around flags/cap points/goals. It's not rocket science FFS surround the area in mines and the enemy can't get to it. Druggers, obviously. Idiots bumping me for overdrive when I'm sat on the flag base playing gatekeeper. We'll need it for when they try to swarm us. -
The problem is you are the only one that thinks railgun needs a buff. Most people who use it think Its pretty good. I would like to see some alts that actually make it better though. Like all of the turrets it's how you use it that counts. Unlimited range (although the auto aim isn't unlimited) no drop off in shot power over distance and able to penetrate to hit multiple tanks. Not to mention high impact force to knock off opponents aim (even mammoth and titan) and flip smaller hulls. Thats quite a potent package, it's not all about what damage it'll cause to one tank in one shot. Rico + long rage alt is my second favorite turret. Great magnum hunter when you can shoot round corners!
-
It's a pity because it is the team play that I enjoy in tanki. When you do get a really matched pair of teams it's great fun but then everybody leaves after 1 match!
-
Re-old-railgun You need to unplug :D Limit the lower and upper elevations and power for Magnum and make it damage all tanks in the blast area. Magnum would do what it was intended for not be the best tool for capturing flags!
-
I go hunting Magnum with Rico and the long range alt. Funny as FK when you see then scurrying out of their little hidey hole cause I'm bouncing shells off of two walls or a pile of crates and they've nowhere to hide.
-
Heck, I really must get out more cause if I total it up it's more like 500 hours on rail alone! Rail is fine as it is, lots of people play it so lots of people have protection against it I get that. Drugs and overdrive spoil it for everyone and they aren't going away any time soon so no point complaining about it. Turrets have more effect than just taking off HP which is something I think gets either forgotten or overlooked. Is there an alt on any turret that significantly increases impact force? How about an alt that took 25% damage from rail for a 50% increase in impact force? I'd like to have a few battles with that, flipping tanks and spinning wasps around like a top! Might even knock vulcan off aim for a second!
-
I only play DM when it's mission with a big enough reward to endure spawn/shoot tank in front/die/repeat. I usually play goalkeeper or XP/BP, neither of which readily translate to DM!
-
I'll take an increase of 0.12 seconds in reload time for twice the range and ammo velocity any day. In practice it makes the turret awesome in the right hands. On some maps there is nowhere Magnum can hide from me! It was my opinion that the alts where trying to make turrets similar to others I was not trying to compare the turrets side by side. I'm afraid I'm one of the luddites that would like to see the game stripped of supplies/overdrive/alts and just have the devs concentrate on gameplay and fairness. I play to enjoy it not to be constantly worrying that i'm not drugged and am not going to win. That's not going to make them any money though. What does is selling protection from turrets, then selling alts to counteract the protection then selling supplies to counteract them both. I'm surprised that the hulls don't have alts.
-
Railgun doesn't need a buff. My point was that in a practical situation i.e. a not pro battle full of drugs being gatekeeper so everyone is drugged attacking flags/goals the very expensive alt makes little or no difference in damage to the average player on 25% protection and DA. But the 50% increase in reload time does. So the expensive alt makes the turret overall worse to use. In a no drugs battle there is still protection to deal with but now normal rail gan get off 3 shots in the time it takes the alt to get off 2 3 average shots = 2700 points or so. With the alt 2 shots = 2800 points or so (all figures are roughly worked out on the back of an envelope with M2 stats) But both take the same amount of time. Factor in impact which is unchanged with the alt and you can do more actual game influencing damage without the alt. Shooting isn't all about killing the opponent. If I can flip a tank then no matter how much protection or armor he has then he's ineffective. Same with knocking shaft and striker off aim. I don't have to kill with one shot to get them, just keep knocking them off aim while doing damage to them. Shaft Mammoth might get a couple of arcade hits on me but they rarely get time to lock on. I use thunder against rail in the same way. Wait for the railgun to light up then hit them on the side, turning the tank sending the shot wild. It takes little timing but really upsets people when my piddley little Hornet/thunder takes out their mammoth rail cause they can't hit me. So my point was that although on the face of it 40% increase in fire power for 2 seconds more reload time seems good, in practice the alt is counteracted by protection modules for damage and you have a decrease in turret effectiveness in game. 100,000 Xtals will buy a hell of a lot of DD for no penalty in reload time. And in no drugs I would rather shoot someone 3 times in an attempt to flip them or knock off their aim than twice. Not to mention if you miss (which no one ever does) that gives your opponent over 12seconds to do damage to you while you can't shoot back. Firebird/wasp+drugs can do the length of massacre in less time. You can hit him as he leaves their base, you miss him half way and he flames you before you get another shot off. I don't have an extensive garage in turrets to check but it seems that quite a few of these alts are trying to make the turret have the characteristics of another. Thunder alt gives armor piercing ammo no splash effect and no self damage. Faster shooting railgun? Hammer alt tightens up the shot spread making it more thunder like. Rico gets twice the range and a 100% increase in ammo speed for a reload penalty of 20% but that's on the whole clip I believe, So if you don't hold you finger on the space bar it shoots twice as fast twice as far for no penalty.
