If you had the capability of reversing a single update, which would it be?
SporkZilla replied to cube3e in Archive
15 minutes battles were standard when I started playing four years ago and I didn't have a problem with them then and probably didn't support making them shorter (would need to search for my reaction) But the be-on-the-winning-team missions have changed that, like wasting an hour on four battles and getting top three or even first place on the losing team in all of them and ending up with no progress on those missions I think most players would be delighted if being on the winning team was no longer a requirement for any mission, and fewer players would quit battles Not many players can win battles on their own, and being on a good team in MM is down to luck instead of skill (battles should be 10 minutes) -
Hammer is the most common Can't take it anywhere and has a mouth like a sewer

15 minute battles Doesn't matter if you are winning, losing, or the battle is very close; after 10 minutes, the remaining minutes feel like torture Siege is especially annoying because it often becomes impossible for the losing team to win or draw in the remaining time -
I think @Dridrien has made a valid observation I've just had a CP battle where my team captured all five points as soon as they appeared, and most of the enemy team either moved to camping spots (stupid shafts etc.) or didn't leave their base The enemy on waiting on the flag point might be a sitting duck, but a decent team would have stopped them from getting to it

One of my objectives as not-entirely-f2p was to get at least two fully upgraded turrets and hulls (four in total) and decent protections and another drone to 20/20 before I got to Legend (have two Legend accounts with max Trickster, a Generalissimo with max Hyperion, and a Commander with max Blaster), but all four of my accounts were started in 2018 with the oldest having over 700 hours and the youngest having over 400 hours But I was forced to progress so slowly because the game has little separation between the newest players and the oldest players, putting me in a position where I can usually put up a good fight against mega buyers and their maxed garages, but also a nightmare opponent for all of the low GS Legends / close-to-Legends that are appearing And now the newest players are facing older players that have feasted on Shard Containers for most of a year, my Brigadier alt that I started when Shard Containers were introduced has only played for 90 hours but has enough crystals saved up to max another drone (and over 8000 batteries) I don't think I could recommend TO to any completely new players at the moment when I know that they will struggle to compete against the older players and that they will encounter them so soon

I don't think winning a battle should be a requirement of any mission I do play to win, and winning and / or top 3 is nice, but the biggest source of stress / anxiety in what should be a fun / casual game is having to win
-
I'm not short of batteries, my account that uses Hyperion has more than 20,000 from saving them up before I started using Hyperion full-time, but they will run out eventually now I'm not really bothered by that because I don't think players being able to hoard so many batteries and other supplies what was the devs wanted, but new players are never going to get enough batteries to compete with older players that have benefited from the old economy so much
-
Opponents with maxed Armadillo can be frustrating if you have a turret that uses critical damage a lot, so I can see the benefit But it's definitely something that you don't start spending every crystal that you earn on until you don't want to upgrade anything else
-
I haven't played many battles with the new thing because I've been busy with the awful DM mission, but in one CTF battle I was in (and won), myself and two other teammates were able to occupy the enemy base and run off with their flag as soon as it appeared
-
I've only done 5 battles on one account (I have five) and I don't think I can take any more of it. So boring. Would be nice if I ended up in a battle where everyone would be happy to just drive about and chat for 15 minutes.

With fully upgraded light hulls, or fully upgraded medium hulls with trickster (or crisis) it's not too bad, but that excludes a lot of players, especially at low ranks
-
There was a chance, but the Jumper team would have needed over 275 extra players earning the minimum 300 stars to bring them down to #2
-
I think it is something which is inevitable and I can't see the point of complaining about it I'm not going to stop shooting at an enemy tank because someone thinks they are the only player that is allowed to shoot at it

@DokanPerfect Most people on here (and Discord) know how much I dislike campers, but it might be worth cooling things a bit In SGE I nearly always equip protections against most long-range turrets if I have them because I know I'm going to be brawling with enemy players at the point (my favorite SGE combo is Hunter Isida with adrenaline) and being targeted by long-range turrets Usually it's only possible for entire teams to cap points in SGE if the other team is very weak / MM is unbalanced, so sometimes I will not go for the points and attack the enemy long-range turrets instead Having too many campers on your team in SGE is bad, but I don't expect there to be none I find camping more of a problem in other modes when it doesn't help the team, especially in ASL where daft magnum players think they can help me cap flags by sitting behind a building and firing shells at the enemy base for the entire battle, and in Cross CP where you need the entire team to try and hold five points
-
I've done this with Shaft (when I've needed long-range turret kills for special missions), just keep watching the point and hide your laser (and your tank) and pick off enemy players trying to cap the point I think it's a decent tactical use of Shaft as long as you move around and attack enemy players on every point instead of just one But a lot of players either can't or won't use long-range turrets tactically in not-TDM modes; Shaft and Magnum are the worst, but Rail and Gauss can be almost as useless in the wrong hands

Will be interesting to see what happens tomorrow when players have to claim 400 stars for the event missions Jumper would need 180 300-stars-only players to bring their average down to Waider's at the moment

@JoyRide This is a screenshot of a spreadsheet I use for containers, but it hasn't been updated for a while. The last container on it was opened in May 2021. Doesn't apply to the new containers obviously, but it does give you some data for the distribution of rewards within "rare" containers Don't think we'll ever get told the chances for specific rewards, but it doesn't surprise me and shouldn't surprise anyone that you are less likely to get an augment than 100 repair kits (rare supplies = 250 of all supplies, rare gold boxes = 10 gold boxes, rare batteries = 150 batteries, rare crystals = 10K crystals, rare premium = 10 days premium)

We defeated @fire_shoter and their Night City paint, but at great cost to my k/d

I've got too much invested in my accounts to delete them, but I sometimes stop playing for a bit when it is more stress than fun I might go back to just collecting daily shard containers for a bit when this event is over Fortunately, I have finished or nearly finished upgrading most of the things I want to upgrade

What Is Your Opinion About the Current State of Tanki Online?
SporkZilla replied to Maf in Game Discussion
I have Wasp and Hornet fully upgraded on one account and use Wasp as a main on an alt But if I didn't have the heavyweight construction augment for Wasp on both of those accounts or had it for Hornet, then I would rarely use Wasp because Hornet is just so much better and Wasp isn't slightly faster any more (and Wasp doesn't get any OD charge after capping or scoring any more, which was one of the reasons to use it) Not being to out run the hovering hulls is also really annoying It was a terrible update -
I also use Hunter with Isida often on my (vamp) Isida account, but usually only in TDM or CP, sometimes in ASL or CTF In Siege I like to support / heal teammates trying to capture points instead of kill campers, so I use adrenaline instead of vamp I don't have Trickster for that account sadly, two of my accounts already had Trickster and I wanted to try something else
