I'd like to seem them have more options for MM battles, kind of bridge the gap between PRO and MM. For example: I want there to be options to choose to only battle people from your own rank, or have a certain rank range, as in PRO battles for rank requirements.
The main thing I want, is a change in the way MM battles are made -- I'd like it to be less "let's just throw them all in" and more calculated. Maybe some mix of GS, K/D overall, W/L overall, and recent K/D and W/L ratios. I'm not sure -- I'm just rambling at this point. Of course, there's a lot more, but all of that is going to be 85% of the posts in this topic, so why repeat it?

No, they are not obsolete. Good rewards if you save them, and they're useful in lower ranks.

Not much gets on my nerves, but that might because I rarely play, and when I do, it's with low ranked players

That's what happens when you try to do parkour stunts you don't know how to do. You'll break something.

How to Prosper (in the Discord Server, duh)
In this section, Venerable and I will both be giving our opinions and thoughts on how exactly you prosper in the Tanki Online Discord. Lose's (my) text will be in orange. Venerable's text will be in Pink.
Alright. So, if you want to prosper, the two most important things to do are this: read the rules, and have common sense. Don't make insensitive remarks, follow the rules, don't participate in arguments that you know probably will escalate. Just stay in the clear and you should be good.
Also, don't try to force yourself into the community. Just start talking there -- eventually someone will respond back. The best friendships are the ones that came naturally. You're always free to ping me or if you have nobody else to -- I usually will respond as I have nobody else to talk to either ().
Bonus cool kid points if you say you came from this guideDiscord is a weird platform when you use it for the first time. But if you realize what it is - a highly advanced instant messenger - you'll begin to feel more comfortable. If you wish to leave an impression on all those players you interact with, you need to be different - that doesn't mean that you purposely change your behavior and attitude just to be loved and respected. You need to be original. You got to be yourself.
One thing you've got to remember is that you must go through #information, #rules, and #faq, however boring it may seem. There's tons of information in those three channels alone. Nearly all of your doubts will get clarified.
As you chat more and more in the TO server, you rank up; your MEE6 rank keeps increasing (see MEE6 again in the "Bots" section). On the basis of your MEE6 rank, you get access to certain permissions. For example, once you reach Level 5, you can post images in the #tanki-images channel or #offtopic-images channel. Most major rank-milestones have a certain "perm" attached to them. If your karma is clean, you can request for the rank-specific perm. For instance, when you reach level 50, you can request Discord Moderators to give you the ImagePerm role, which allows you to post images in #general!
We've tried our best to cover most of the points, but we haven't told you everything. There's a LOT to Discord than what meets the eye. There's no better way prosper than to learn through experimenting and interacting. If you follow all rules and promise to enjoy the international experience, you'll surely be remembered by the next generation of tankers as a true legend...
And there you have it! My first collaboration with the one and only @Venerable: The Beginner's Guide to the Tanki Online Discord! We hope that you enjoyed reading this, as we worked quite hard on this. Huge shoutout to Venerable for writing this with me, and I hope that I can do more collaborations in the future!
~Lose + Venerable
This was a blast to make -- hopefully there will be more like this in the future! Also, I hope that my sections weren't too bad (even though you don't know which were mine.) - Lose
Wait what? The guide isn't over yet? Aaaargh I'm dead already after all those text-walls!! (NO we don't care)
We have something fun for you! ;)
SpoilerBLOOPERS
Yep, you read that right! We wrote most of this guide in a private Discord server and couldn't help having some fun. Enjoy!
Bloopero Uno
Spoiler
In this picture, Venerable and Lose wanted to get a pic of Zackery typing, but Zack rarely types. So they decided to change their nicknames in their private server and get the pic. Venerable told Lose to keep typing, and he followed Venerable's instructions a bit too well...
The pic of Zackery typing is no longer in the guide because that section got scrapped.
Bloopero Dos
Spoiler
Here we see in the humble beginnings of this guide, Venerable asking Lose what should be after the intro. Lose, of course, answered in the only correct way.
Bloopero Tres
Spoiler
A spooky incident of Lose witnessing time travel. As you can see, Venerable (Beginner_Discord) comments at 1:47 AM, and then comments again, theoretically later, at 1:30 AM. How this is possible, I'm not sure (must have something to do with reporters and robots
), but nonetheless, it is quite spooky.
OK that's all we have. We couldn't find any more bloopers, which goes on to show how epic we are.

What To Know
Channels
Alrighty! Now that you have some knowledge of some of the miscellaneous things Discord has to offer, we can begin looking at the server itself. Let's begin with the channels.
I should clarify that the Discord is split in two ways: categories, and channels. Categories are a wider way of organizing things, such as having a category called "Information". In that category, you can have channels. The channels could be things such as announcements or rules. Now that we have that clarified, we can actually begin the guide.
Just kidding. If we explained all of the channels, it would take forever. Instead, we'll go to the #information channel, which explains all the channels for us! (If you still want to read through my explanation for most of the channels, it's in the spoiler.)
Spoiler
Category One: News & Announcements. Channels you'll find there are #tanki-news, #game-status, #discord-news, and #tanki-announcements.
#tanki-news is for any news about the Tanki Online game, such as if there are sales or contests.#game-status is a useful channel which tells you the status of the game, ratings page, wiki, help site, forum, test servers, and more. They'll update you on when they are down, and when they get back up.
#discord-news is a pretty self explanatory channel; it's a channel for any news that's relating to the Discord. Some common thing is the announcement for Special Battles. These are battles organized on the Discord where only people in the Discord server get the battle link! You should join the Discord server to play them - they're really fun!
#tanki-announcements is similar to #tanki-news, but it's for any other announcement; such as the TO Newspaper, eSports news, contests, and anything else. There are special pingable roles (roles that can "ping" you, i.e. notify you) that are used to announce these, which we'll get into.
Category Two: Info. Channels in this category are #welcome, #rules, #information, #faq, #roles, and #colours.
#welcome has most of the general information about the server. It tells you the important links, like the forum and wiki, and also shows you where you can contact Tanki.
#rules is pretty self-explanatory -- it's where the rules are. There isn't much more to add on to that, other than the fact that you should follow the rules here. That will be pretty important to being active in the server, as it's quite difficult to be active if you're banned.
#information is the channel that does what I'm doing right now, but better. It's a basic rundown of all of the channels; however, it is slightly outdated. It also shows you the important roles, who the staff team is, and provides invite links for if someone wants to join the server.
#faq is they answer the most commonly asked questions, such as "How do I control the music bot?", or "How do I participate in giveaways?". This channel also tells you the benefits you gain per level you level up.

#roles is where you go if you want roles. Want to be pinged whenever there's a giveaway? Head on over to #roles. Want to be pinged whenever there is news about Tanki? Head on over to #roles.
#colours image is where you can gain colored roles. As you level up using MEE6, every few levels you unlock a new colored role. You do not have to equip it, and you can swap them out! They look very nice.

Category Three: Ideas & Suggestions. In this category, you will only find two channels: #server-suggestions, and #suggestions-reply.
#server-suggestions is the channel where you can suggest things for the server! You can do this by using the command !suggest [idea]. REMEMBER: THIS CHANNEL IS ONLY FOR SUGGESTIONS ABOUT THE SERVER, NOT THE GAME ITSELF.
#suggestions-reply is the channel where our wonderful admins, mainly kaisdf, replies to.
Category Four: Tanki General. The channels you will find here are #general, #support, #bot-spam, #tanki-bot, and #tanki-bot-faq.
#general is probably the most important channel here. It's literally the home of most talking that goes on in the Discord. If you want to say a funny joke, you can put it here! If you want to make new friends, go in here! You will also occasionally see me or Venerable in chat!
#support you is where you would go if you have any questions about anything related to the server or the game! It's full of amazing people who are always willing to help you solve your problem!
#bot-spam where is where you use the bots we were talking about earlier. Want to know your rank? Go to #bot-spam and say "!rank". Want to request a new nickname? Feel free to do it here!
#tanki-bot is where you can play with the aforementioned Tanki Bot. Feel free to use the fun commands the creator has made!
#tanki-bot-faq is where you can ask any questions related to the Tanki Bot. Make sure to check pins before you ask questions, to see if it's been answered!
Category Five: LATAM. Portuguese or Spanish text channels will be found here. The channels are #latam-announcements, #general-br, and #general-es.
#latam-announcements is where you'll find all announcements for the Spanish and Portuguese speaking community.
#general-br is similar to #general, but it's for anybody who speaks Portuguese!
#general-br is like the one above, but this time it's for Spanish speakers!
Category Six: Content. In this category you will find the channels #tanki-images, #offtopic-images, #tanki-videos, #offtopic-videos, and #music-sharing-and-discussion!
#tanki-images is where you can post any image related to Tanki Online. It's sort of like the Tanki Picture of the Day - Have Any? of the Discord.
#offtopic-images is where you can post any images that are not related to Tanki Online.
#tanki-videos is similar to #tanki-images, but instead of images it's for videos.
#offtopic-videos same story as above, but with offtopic videos instead of Tanki videos.
#music-sharing-and-discussion is where you can post about any cool song you've found! You can also discuss other people's songs and have a great time discovering new music!
Category Seven: Discussion. In this category you will find the #clan-recruiting, #updates, #events, and #what-to-buy channels. Let's begin!
#clan-recruiting is where you can go
begask people to let you into their clan! Whether you've just ranked up to Warrant Officer 1, or you've just left another clan as a Marshal, you're all welcome here.#updates is where you can discuss the most recent updates, and suggest new updates for the developers to add!
#events is where people discuss all things events! You can see the calendar there, discuss how to win with others, and more!
#what-to-buy as essentially the Discord equal to the "What to Buy- Which is Better?" topic, this is pretty similar. You ask people what to buy for your next upgrade.
Category Eight: LF Battles. In here we have #special-battle-voting, and #mm-format.
#special-battle-voting is where the fancy staff people ask you all what settings you want for the Special Battles! This is also where they post the links. Don't share them!
#mm-format is the place to discuss everything matchmaking related.
Category Nine: Fun N Games. The important channels here are #giveaways, #community-giveaways, #promocode-trivia, and #tanki-jeopardy.
#giveaways is where the admins host special giveaways for the community!
#community-giveaways is like above channel, but instead of the admins, they're hosted by the community!
#tanki-jeopardy is where the lovely Pythor hosts his Tanki Jeopardy games.
#promocode-trivia is where occasionally the epic moderators host trivia! They ask you questions, the quickest to answer correctly get promocodes!
Events
Special Battles
These are, quite literally, special battles. The Discord team decide one day on which they'll organize the special battle, and server members will get a chance to help decide the map, battle-parameters, game mode, etc. Usually, you get to choose your preferred timings by reacting to the announcement in #discord-news.
So, what's so special about these battles? Well, they're Discord-exclusive! The battle link is posted only on Discord, in a special channel called #special-battle-voting.Spoiler

If you wish to get pinged (i.e. notified) for such epic battles, you have to get the @Special-Battles role by reacting with the appropriate emoji in #roles channel (
INFO category --> #roles).
Spoiler
Tip: This is another use of reactions!
Tanki Jeopardy
Even though this is a "beginners' guide", we thought introduce an amazing Discord event to you - Tanki Jeopardy.
"Jeopardy!" is a game show in real life, in which questions based on general knowledge are asked - each contestant has a buzzer, and the fastest one to press their buzzer gets a chance to answer the question before the others. If a contestant get an answer wrong, they lose some money, and the next-fastest contestant to press their buzzer is allowed to answer. Answers are given in a specific format: if your answer is "Tesla", you have to say "What is Tesla".However, buzzers are an impossibility on Discord. But our dear Reporter and Discord Moderator @Pythor found a way around that - contestants of Tanki Jeopardy have to type "J" in the chat, and the fastest one to post "J" gets to answer first. Instead of real money, there are points. Contestants have to answer in a particular format: "What is _____" (same as the actual Jeopardy).
What kind of questions are asked, you say?
Anything and everything under the Kungur sun.Anything related to Tanki Online can be asked - from Matchmaking to PRO battles, from Forum to Discord, from eSports to Community Managers (had to mention CMs somewhere...)! We'd highly recommend you all to pay the #tanki-jeopardy channel a visit, and scroll right to the top - it'll be a long but highly entertaining read, we guarantee.Giveaways
If you go over to the #giveaways channel, occasionally there will be giveaways hosted! You can go to the #roles channel and react to the according reaction to be pinged when they're hosted. Also, even if you don't win, that doesn't mean they're rigged. I think.
Make sure you react to the actual giveaway in order to participate!
Spoiler
Promocode Trivia
Occasionally, in the #promocode-trivia channel, the Discord Moderators will host a trivia game. In this game, it's quite simple: they will ask you a question, and you have to answer not only correctly, but be the first to do so. If you do that successfully, then congratulations! You will win a promocode.
Occasionally they do a variation of this where they write down two sentences of the lyrics of a popular song, and the first to guess the song wins! These events are really fun, you should participate in them!

Discord Features
Reactions
Venerable:
The first thing you must know about is Reactions. Reactions on Discord are quite similar to the reactions on the Forum, just that you can react with pretty much any emoji.
Reactions have many uses:- They can be used to give you roles (see YAGPDB bot). You simply have to react to the bot's post with an appropriate emoji, and you get the role!
- They can be used to literally show your reaction to a post. So if you find someone's post funny, you can react to it with one of the many laughing emojis.
-
They are used during giveaways, where you have to react with
in order to enter the giveaway.
- They're used by bots like Tatsumaki to help you toggle pages of the bot's many features, etc.
Lose:
Let's start with reactions. So, I assume everybody knows what an emoji is. If you don't, here's an example of an emoji:
. It's just like drawings in text. Reactions are sort of like mini-emojis you can add below messages. You can use these in many different ways, from conveying emotions to spelling out sentences.
This is what a reaction looks like:
Spoiler
Roles

The typical roles of a tanker...
Roles are an important feature of Discord: they're used to organize members of a server and assign permissions. Instead of tagging everyone by using the @everyone role, members with higher authority (moderators, admins, etc.) simply tag a specific role to notify certain members about any updates. We'll try and explain roles using three examples:
1. The @Announcements role: This role is used to notify only those members who want to get notified for announcements. To get this role, you have to react with the appropriate emoji in #roles (
INFO --> #roles).
SpoilerAs you can see below, Person_Random has pinged the @Announcements role to notify members having that role. Members that do not have this role do not get notified.

2. The @NickPerm role: This is a permission role. Members with this role have the permission to change their display nicknames (in the server) at will, without having to use the !nick command!
3. The Tanki-rank roles: You can get a rank role by reacting with your rank in #roles. The role will be displayed in your profile, and other players won't need to ask you your in-game rank every time they wish to play with you.
Nitro

Lose:
You might be wondering, how do you get an animated emoji, or an animated reaction, or want to show an emoji from one server to your friends in a different server? Well this is where Discord Nitro comes in. Nitro allows you to use animated emojis and emojis from other servers (if you have permission to). And with Nitro, you can do something special: server boosting.
Server boosting is where you basically use your nitro to, well, boost the server and give it perks. From giving it a custom Discord URL to giving it animated PFPs (Profile Pictures) and banners, boosting is a great benefit to a server. You also get fancy pink special roles whenever you do boost, and sometimes that comes with special perks... (and sometimes even a special channel!
)
Boosting with nitro can give you a special pink role!

Venerable:
Then we have Discord Nitro. Nitro in Discord is like Premium pass in Tanki - it is a premium service which gives you access to some exclusive perks.

You can post animated emojis, and also emojis from other servers. However, you need the @EmotePerm role to post other servers' emojis in the Tanki server. Till you get the role at Level 15, you can use the Tanki server's animated emojis.
You can boost the server using "server boosts", a couple of which come free with the subscription of Nitro. Boosting the Tanki server gives you the Booster role, and you receive monthly promocodes.

NOTE: Nitro and Nitro Classic are two different types of Discord's premium service, though both are referred to as "Nitro" in daily banter. Nitro Classic has lesser perks.
Bots
You might have noticed that there are certain users in your servers that might have a "bot" tag besides their name. That's because they're, well, bots. Bots are useful assets to any server that can help with moderation, role sorting, and so much more! Venerable and I have categorized the main bots in the Tanki Online server to 6 bots, and we're each going to go over three. Enjoy!

MEE6
MEE6 is an extremely popular ranking bot that is used in many servers. The way it works is that every minute you speak, you will gain between 15-25 EXP.

Every once and a while, you gain enough EXP to level up. The amount of EXP it takes to level up does slowly increase, but eventually with enough time you'll reach levels that you're able to brag about. In most servers, the level you are at is directly correlated to what you can do, and what roles you can get. Some servers even have a level requirement for moderator and such.
The prefix for most servers and for the Tanki Online server is !. Some useful commands to know include (but are not limited to):
!rank - This command is used to check your rank and what position you are on the leaderboard.
!levels - Gives you a link to the leaderboards to get specifics on how many messages/EXP you are behind or ahead of others. While there aren't many common commands, this bot is extremely popular and can be found in most servers.

Tanki Bot
Tanki Bot is a fan-made bot made by the wonderful @gb_factory, made specifically for the Tanki Online server. With this bot the main goal is to have fun, but you also can earn crystals, earn tankoins, and level up through the ranks. The optimal way to do this is to open containers repeatedly, sell the items you got, and buy more containers (classic LoseTM advice). The bot's prefix is >.
Some useful commands:
>profile - Shows you your profile, which includes your name, rank, amount of crystals, amount of tankoins, amount of EXP, and your Hull+Turret combination.
>shop - Opens the shop, which is useful as that's how you buy pretty much everything.
>buy [quantity] - Allows you to buy containers in any amount you want.
>daily - Gives you your daily container.
>weekly - Gives you your weekly container.
>open c - Opens a container, giving you randomized items from common to legendary rarity.
>sell all - Sells all of your items (supplies, paints, skins).Give it a try!

YAGPDB.xyz
YAGPDB is a great all-round functionality bot, but where it is really useful is when it comes to roles. Using YAGPDB, you can make role tables which assign people roles by clicking on reactions! The bot's prefix varies from server-to-server and doesn't usually have a common prefix. For the examples, we will be using ;
Some fun (but not exactly useful) commands:
;wyr - Starts a would you rather game. Most of the commands are technical or practical, but that's boring so we won't use those.

Tatsumaki
This bot is mainly in the fun & games category, and has no direct use as such in the Tanki server. You can do stuff like playing slots, "fishing", checking your rank (though the Tatsu rank is not considered by Tanki server; the rank assigned by MEE6 is considered.), getting "credits" which are used in the various other features of the bot like the shop and fishing, etc.
The prefix for Tatsu is t!.
The easiest bot commands of Tatsumaki are-
1. t!fish (the bot let's you catch objects in a virtual ocean; you may or may not catch a fish)
2. t!help (conjures up a help menu showing the various bot commands and their proper usage)
3. t!daily (add a certain number of "credits" to your account virtually, which can be used in other Tatsu features like fishing)
4. t!slots (play slots and lose your credits!)
5. t!rank (displays your Tatsumaki rank-card, which has only aesthetic value)
Keep in mind though, that the Tatsumaki rank isn't considered by the Tanki server for various perms like EmotePerm (permission to use emojis from other servers), ImagePerm (Permission to post images and GIFs), etc. For that we have the MEE6 bot.
The best way to learn more about this bot is actually trying out various bot commands with the t! prefix in the #bot-spam channel and reaching out to friends in the server in case you need help.
AuttajaAuttaja is a bot used for changing nicknames in the Tanki server. When you join the server, your Discord username is displayed as your nickname. In case the nickname is inappropriate or has non-pingable characters (some fonts that cannot be typed normally, or too many special characters), the Discord Moderators change it to "RandomNick1234" (the last four digits needn't necessarily be "1234"). Don't worry, your Discord username remains as it is; your display name is the only thing that gets changed. In such cases, you might feel like changing your nickname, at least in the server. If you don't, then I don't know you. (That's supposed to hurt you, so you better cry.)
Or, if you want to be known by your Tanki nickname in the server, you'd really want to change your display name while keeping your Discord username intact. That brings us to THE question:
How to change your nickname?
Well, it's pretty easy*. All you have to do is type "!nick" followed by your desired nickname. For example: Your Discord username is "Alphonso", but you want to be known as "Alphonso Mango" in the Tanki server (and not change your Discord username at the same time). You have to type this in the chat bar -

Then you hit <Enter> on your keyboard, and wait patiently. Your message will almost instantly vanish. You see, once you execute the !nick command, a nickname change request reaches the Discord Moderators in a secret, hidden channel. They check your nickname very carefully, and approve your desired nickname only if it follows certain conditions; your nickname should
- have less than 32 characters
- be appropriate (nothing profane or suggestive)
- not insult/provoke any user
- not be used to impersonate Helpers/the administration
- have at least 3 consecutive standard keyboard characters so that it can be easily mentioned.
Once the moderators deem your nickname appropriate, they'll approve it and your nickname will be changed. Auttaja personally sends you a message saying, "Your nick request has been accepted!" Oh, replace that exclamation mark with a dot, actually. The bot is never too excited to meet you.
*Terms and Conditions apply. You must have at least 32π IQ.
SpoilerFun Fact: The value of 32π is approximately 100.
Those were our reviews on the bots! And a little PSA: For all of the bots, mostly the Tanki Bot, we are not experts, and our knowledge may be outdated. The Tanki Online Discord Hub is great for looking at any information we may have missed, especially the Tanki Bot commands.___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Chatting with bots can raise questions on your sanity...Tip: In case you find yourself chatting with a bot, feel free to analyze your sanity on www.sanitycheck.com. It's a totally safe website supported by a non-profit charity. I think.

INTRODUCTION
Hello, and welcome to yet another guide! Today we have something quite special for you. We at the LoseTM Foundation have collaborated with the one and only @Venerable to make this guide! He will be writing some of the parts, and I will be writing some of the others. Now with all of the boring information out of the way, let us begin with the guide!Lose and Venerable present:
A Guide on The Tanki Discord!
_________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Getting Started
You need a Discord account first. To create one, click on the lovely Discord banner made by @Thiedes on the right-hand-side of the Forum homepage. And if you already have an account, then you shouldn't be here. Go away. This guide is for beginners. (LOL kidding see below)

See that handsome Smoky-Wasp on the right? That's where you click...
*In case you don't already have a Discord account:
SpoilerWhen you click on the banner (the GIF showing the Smoky-Wasp saying "Hey!"), you're led to another page, with this in the middle:

In case you already have a Discord account, click on the "Already have an account?" link. If not, enter a nickname in the text-box. It should preferably be your Tanki nickname for easier identification. Then hit <Continue>.
Then you'll be asked your date of birth, after which this will show up:
Now here you need to enter you email address, along with a strong password (which will be your new Discord account's password). After verifying your email address via email, you're set!
In case you have a Discord account already (or have created one before clicking on the banner):- Open Discord and log in first.
- Then click on the banner in the Forum.
- You'll be led to a webpage with this (see image below) in the centre. Click <Accept Invite>.

After clicking <Accept Invite>, you'll see this on your screen:

The right part of the screen shows the server-members. The middle part has all the content. The left part shows the channels, and at the extreme left you'll see your servers (the ones you're a member of). Clicking on that Discord logo on the top-left corner lets you access your friends list and your Direct Messages or DMs.
Scroll up (in the middle part with all the text) and read the English part (or whichever part you understand best), then type !agree in the chat, and hit <Enter>. You will then be verified, and will also be able to access the rest of the server.

Let's pretend that I'm contributing to my English group and not doing Newspaper work.*coughs* I'm glad to see a strong writer return with yet another great story. In my opinion, the theme and plotline are very clear and laid out and I really enjoy the repetition of the lines "I was broken" and "Maybe tomorrow will be better" for emphasis. However, I think it would be even stronger with even more emotion and description if you can add it in. Otherwise, it's a great story - a strong start to 2021 - and I hope to see even better works as the year progresses. Keep it up!Edits: minor grammar fixes.
Thanks for approving this! A strong start to 2021, and I'm only planning for things to go bigger and better from here.

Honestly ASL isn't that bad, but that might just be because I'm at a low rank since I'm bad at the game (:c). SGE, however, is by far my least favorite gamemode and it can go away -- it just seems like a worse, slower version of CP with repetitive gameplay that usually involves dying in many annoying ways. TDM or CTF might be my favorites just because I feel those are the gamemodes most based on actual player skill and not just being able to survive long enough to get a point. Not saying that TDM and CTF are based on player skill at all (they're still mostly based on if you get lucky), but I feel they are more dependent on that than the others.
I agree with what @sezze100 said about rotating the modes/maps -- I feel that might improve things, but I'd have to think about it.
I'm not sure if these opinions are unpopular or not, all I know is that they are mine.
