Why Mammoth, Dictator and Hornet are still worth using
ThirdOnion replied to TakeAShower in Writers' Corner
It is definitely harder to hit a Dictator than a Viking, but it makes almost no difference when comparing Hornet and Wasp. -
Why Mammoth, Dictator and Hornet are still worth using
ThirdOnion replied to TakeAShower in Writers' Corner
Being a bigger target barely matters in TO . . . and it's not like Wasp is that much faster. -
Anecdotal evidence.

A) How can you write an article about a kit you don't have? B) Are you sure you aren't confusing Hornet with Wasp? C) What is going to keep me from buying, say, Jackhammer over Legend?

Hornet is more stable. Wasp is like a fishing boat during a hurricane. Hornet also looks way better. -
Would A NVIDIA GeForce 940MX GPU Be Able To Display Full Graphics?
ThirdOnion replied to Intelligent in Archive
Dude, that's way overkill. If you want to buy it just to play Tanki on max settings (which don't even look that good) then TBH it's a waste of money. -
Umm . . . what? This is a flat out ridiculous buff.

If he's actually starving, by the time you teach him how to fish he'll probably be dead.

HTML5 is on test server right now. Some people have reported that when they log into the game they get the HTML5 version.
-
If you have lag it's most likely on your end. Use TO client, it is much better than browser.
-
Probably because it isn't high on the priority list.

Wasp's overdrive is basically a very large mine. You won't have to aim, and you won't take damage. (Also devs, please give the bomb impact force so we see tanks go flying when it explodes. Please.) I agree with you about Hunter, and given how slow it is, it's not even that practical. Perhaps disabling supplies for a certain amount of time would be better (but also induce more rage)? Mammoth will destroy all tanks in a nearby radius AND become invincible. If you drive into a CP point, you automatically win. If you drive into the enemy's base and engage overdrive, you wipe out their entire defense, which means easy flag cap for your teammates. And since you're going to be invincible for the same period of time that you are very slow during, what's the problem? Once overdrive finishes and you leave the wrecks of the entire enemy team in your wake, you can relocate. In my opinion it's ridiculously OP. Also, I highly doubt Mammoth will be able to pass on its overdrive to teammates.
-
It looks like devs realized how OP the current Overdrive is and gave it to the weakest medium hull. On one hand that is a good thing, on the other hand . . . I do not look forward to all these Overdrives all over the battlefield. And who's going to use Hornet? The ability to see enemies through walls is fairly useless compared with laying a bomb. Another problem: you are a Mammoth, and you drive into the enemy base or CP point on a map like Polygon CP. Boom, you take control of the point with a press of the Shift key. Fair and balanced . . . Also old graphics with better renderer pls semyon pls.

A meal in a restaurant is more of an indulgence than a primary need (you can always eat at home for less). So is spending money on a video game. Is it worth it? Not in my opinion. If you earn your own money, ask yourself "Is working X amount of time to earn X amount of money worth the enjoyment I will get from buying things in game?" For some people it is.

It's not like you're in a race with anyone to get crystals. Your main consideration should be whether you enjoy the game or not, rather than how you are doing currency wise.

General Info: Tanks Testing Tool LVK, or TLVK for short, is probably the most advanced modification of TTT out there created by the player ruslan_g02. It has a GUI, the best graphics out of all versions of TTT, and a huge amount of customization options, maps, and tools. However, since it is completely in Russian, it's not practical to use for the English player. This guide is intended to help you load in maps in TLVK and covers basic controls. Information about the other tools of TLVK will be added later. Download TLVK (with English map names) here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/1ty9lafcko159q4/TVKL.zip?dl=0 Once you've downloaded TVKL.zip, extract the folder (if you can't do this, download 7-zip here). Here is what it should look like: Launching Maps: Launch the "TLVK 1.1(Launcher).exe" application. Note that "TLVK 1.0(Launcher).exe" also works, but in my opinion 1.1 is more user-friendly. A window should open. We are interested in the box on the top left, circled in red: Click on this box. It will open a list of maps. Click on a map to view a preview image. Once you've chosen a map, click on the launch button (circled in red): The map should load in. TLVK contains many controls which you can find in the "readme.txt" file in the main TLVK folder, but I'll outline the most important ones here. Camera controls: Mouse to look around, WASDEQ to move, hold down Shift to move faster. Tank controls: Ins - insert a tank Del - delete a tank F - select/deselect a tank (snaps your camera to the tank and gives you control over it) N - if there are multiple tanks, selects the next tank WASD to move, X and Z to turn turret, E and Q to adjust camera angle. Numpad 1 and 3 - change the paint Numpad 4 and 6 - change the hull Numpad 7 and 9 - change the turret ] - change the firing animation (limited to Smoky, Twins, and Firebird) K - flip your tank (useful if your tank is upside down) L - blow up your tank B - toggle skybox If you want to go back to the main TLVK window, click the circled button: Changing the skybox: Click the circled box: This window should pop up. Press the arrow buttons to scroll through the skyboxes, and press "OK" to choose a skybox. After you have done this every map you launch will have that skybox until you change it. Adding your own maps: Although TLVK has a very large selection of maps (including some that were probably created by the author of the program), the point of TTT is to be able to test your own maps. To this go to the main TLVK folder and open the folder "Maps." Copy and paste your map into this folder. Make sure to give it a name that is NOT "map.xml." If you want your map to have a preview image, create a .jpg image and name it with the same name that your map file has. For example, if I made a map file called "containers.xml" I have to name the preview image as "containers.jpg." Note that if you are going to make a map with AlternativaEditor, be attentive to what libraries you use! TLVK has a vast collection of prop libraries, however, many of them are incompatible with other versions of TTT. Another note: TLVK has an option in the GUI to add your own map; however it's in Russian and in my opinion it's easier just to copy and paste files. Settings: Click the circled box: This window should pop up. I suggest you keep the "Open with" and "Debug mode" settings as they appear in the image. Feel free to play around with the tank settings though. To save your changes, click the check mark in the upper right of the screen. Note that this guide is still a work in progress. I plan to add instructions on how to create maps (great guide for mapmaking here) and use tara tools, but for now this is the end.

Well you can spend your money on stuff besides burgers and the game . . .

Then you're probably playing on a potato.

(poll) Do you think the numbers of isidas change the outcome of a battle?
ThirdOnion replied to I-Hate-Druggers in Archive
Too many "ifs." -
Because it is still in alpha and poorly optimized. Think of it this way: suppose you are translating a book into a different language. If you translate it literally word for word, it will sound really weird (especially if you are translating Chinese to English!). You have to add some more words and phrases if you want it to make sense. The same thing goes for converting Flash to HTML5. It's a rough, literally translated version of Flash so far. Note: If you set your graphics to the lowest possible setting in HTML5, you will get decent framerates.

You know you can quote posts?

Actually this is interesting. Someone else said they have HTML5 version as well.
-
No.

I'm pretty sure the "maybe" was confirmed in the V-log. When matchmaking test was live I could create and play custom battles for free.
