This update also seems to include a bunch of undocumented changes to MM maps. These have been mainly cosmetic; more detail has been added to portions of maps outside of the playable area. Aleksandrovsk: Archiapelago: Barda: Brest: Chernobyl: Cologne has had some rather dramatic changes that will affect gameplay, though: Some of these changes are rather questionable. I'm not entirely sure what these enormous, empty stretches of land contribute to Highways and Industrial Zone. Some barriers have been added around camping spots on Massacre, perhaps for better visibility. A bunch of destroyed tanks in Year 2042: On the one hand, some of these changes bump up the visual quality of the game. On the other hand, they could diminish performance on lower end PCs. And for me it's a pain to keep track of all these different map versions. I'm already behind. Another thing I've noticed is that shadows now fade out at a certain distance, though this may already have been a feature. I'm not sure since I usually have shadows off.

I believe they improved the particle effects (added dust to the point of impact) of bullets hitting objects.
-
White icons look better in the HTML5 version, they only look out of place in Flash.

This is how it should be. Magnum is a long ranged turret. It should NOT be able to perform well at close range, especially given that it can one-shot medium hulls. Hornet Magnums with RGC playing at short ranges were one of the most rage-inducing combos to fight against.

Particle effects for Vulcan and augment and skin icons look great. Bushes, not so much.
-
To make stock Magnum easier to use for mobile players, apparently.
-
How exactly will this work? Will using Magnum require four keys now?
-
This would be a really nice update if it weren't for the Magnum changes . . . I am very concerned about those.

By the way, you can get the raw player count (at 15 minute intervals) at https://tankionline.com/s/statistics.txt

Reminds me of the recycler charge from Prey:

Did Tanki X require a decent computer (with at least 8g RAM)? If so, what is it because of the graphics detail?

Terrible. -
Also cannot open HTML5 client. Browser version works, but is very slow.

I find that a high percentage of the Firebirds that I encounter in battles have compact tanks. So I reckon it's probably a worthwhile alteration, and from my experience on the receiving end, it's pretty powerful.

The first post of this topic tells you how. Only works on Flash client.
-
I re-installed the client and this was fixed.

Not sure if this is a problem with Windows or with Tanki, but I'm posting it here anyway. I've set the HTML5 client to run with my discrete Nvidia GPU in both the Nvidia control panel and in Windows 10's display settings. When in the lobby, everything is fine - Task Manager shows that it is running on the discrete GPU. But if I enter a battle, the client switches to using the integrated GPU.

Hm. -
Fantastically fair match. Over in less than two minutes. Guess who the top scorers on the enemy team were? That's right, Hornet + Magnum RGC.

For fun and the possibility of catching some of your own golds. It also makes it easier to complete the Lucky mission. If you have 25 golds then there isn't much of a reason not to do it.

Next update: "After careful analysis and discussion, we have decided to increase experience to 6x and remove all crystal earnings."
-
I believe one of the impediments to adding new maps into the game has to do with some technical problems related to Flash. It is possible that those issues are fixed in HTML5, allowing the developers to add new maps once Flash is discontinued. That page is very misleading though.

I don't see what is enjoyable about having to use a paint you don't like just because it offers protection that you need.
