What Is Your Opinion About the Current State of Tanki Online?
ThirdOnion replied to Maf in Game Discussion
I think you should reword the poll options - MUs weren't removed, just disabled after a certain rank. I personally am in favor of removing MUs entirely - no waiting - but am strongly opposed to the latest MU update. -
I looked into this. Not too long ago Railgun's critical chance step was decreased from 40% to 10% (yet another unannounced change by the way), reducing its average critical hit rate from around 36% to 27%. That puts the Mk7+ damage distribution at about 39% critical and 61% standard damage. A 50% protection module in practice will reduce the total incoming damage by around 30%. Edit: incorrect information, see this post:

Goldboxes disrupt the flow of battles. I'm all for the notification being yet more discreet.

Not really a fan of the fact that the front side armour plates are now tapered. With each of these HD reworks the developers make changes which I don't really understand.

A random sequence of numbers is one where it is impossible to predict what the next number will be based on previously numbers. Computers can't generate truly random sequences - but often, we don't need true randomness. We only need a sequence that seems random - that is, a sequence for which it is very difficult to predict what the next number will be, and a sequence in which it is very difficult to find a pattern in. For example, suppose we wanted the numbers 0-9 in "random" order. We can generated such a "random" sequence with the relation an+1 = (an + 13) mod 10. We'll use an initial starting value a1 = 5. a2 = 18 mod 10 = 8 a3 = 21 mod 10 = 1 a4 = 14 mod 10 = 4 a5 = 17 mod 10 = 7 If you continue you will find that the first ten numbers in this sequence are 5, 8, 1, 4, 7, 0, 3, 6, 9, 2 (after that the sequence repeats). Suppose you only knew the first four numbers of this sequence. If you didn't know what the relation was which was used to generate these numbers, would you be able to predict what the fifth number would be? I wouldn't be able to. This sequence seems random to the average person, because it is difficult for the average person to find a pattern in the sequence, even though a pattern does exist. The algorithm I used was a very simple one, but much more sophisticated algorithms exist for producing such pseudo-random sequences. I mentioned earlier that computers can't generate truly random sequences. This is actually only half true. It possible for example to construct sequences based on measurements of fluctuations in background radiation. These are probably as close as we can get to true randomness.

I don't think anyone says that.

Reduces damage taken from critical hits.

A game doesn't need to have cutting-edge graphics to be visually appealing.
-
That is some very odd logic. For years there were no skins available for free players at all and yet many players reminiscence fondly on those times.
-
I don't understand how you came to this conclusion.

In my opinion Stadium RGB is OK. But in all other modes it is just terrible.

How are skins P2W?

Finally IB + HI fixed.

valid Decrease the number of mines in the game

Supplies have been in the game almost since its inception, and F2P players receive more than enough supplies from containers, challenges, and missions to compete with paying players in that regard. -

In the Flash client, cached file names are encoded as Base64 strings For example, aHR0cDovL3MuZXUudGFua2lvbmxpbmUuY29tLy8wLzIzMC8yMzYvNzMvMi9saWJyYXJ5LnRhcmE= decodes to . . . http://s.eu.tankionline.com//0/230/236/73/2/library.tara . . . which indicates a prop library archive. You can use this website to decode Base64 strings. In the HTML5 client, cached files are organized according to the caching system used by Chromium and Chromium-based browsers. As I mentioned before, you can use the ChromeCacheView utility to examine them.

What Is Your Opinion About the Current State of Tanki Online?
ThirdOnion replied to Maf in Game Discussion
The physics model used in TTT differs greatly from the one currently used in TO. -
If you are playing in a browser, cached files will be stored wherever the browser's cache is located. If you are playing via the client on Windows, cached files will be stored in C:\YOUR_USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\TankiOnline\Cache (replace YOUR_USERNAME with your PC username). You can examine them using the ChromeCacheView utility.

Yes. Although the text says “ultra super-duper tank” (an obvious placeholder). I am guessing that the Contracts system will allow for choosing the reward received for the final stage of a Challenge.

Hornet's OD now grants guaranteed crits for seven seconds. This is a big deal for Striker and Railgun which have high critical hit damage. Not so great for Shaft and Gauss, but neither of those turrets really need AP that much - Shaft already does a ridiculous 3.3k damage (seriously, time for a nerf). Some random camping Hornet sitting 300m away should not be able to completely disable Titan's dome. I highly disagree with your assertion that anything with range is being "attacked by the devs." In my opinion ranged turrets are extremely strong right now. Shaft, Gauss, and Magnum are arguably the best three turrets in the game right now, Railgun not far behind.
-
Given that Hornet now has seven seconds of Supercharge I think the range buff is reasonable.

I will echo mjmj5558 and ask how the type of client is related to the server.

Afterburn is brutal. Get at least Heat Resistance, it makes the game somewhat playable.
