No. Do you think that anyone who is conscientious about their feedback that they want to give within the context of other players thoughts would read a couple pages? Yes, people should read a few but not the whole thing. When you force all those players who would have voted negatively to the post on the subject you have to question the potential quality. You suspect knowing their opinion is better than a number but In my past reading of announcements, a good portion of them had less than mediocre responses. Are there any other announcement topics with highly constructive messages? Yes I get that you can find a lot of great ones but there are also not very good ones as well. I don't read through them all, again by my prior knowledge of quality. I'd like to see them at their best. The part of my response that you quoted was in response to an ignorant comment. Later in that I explained my side. In no way did I imply that this is a "great" update, I explained how it might not work as intended. And If you think I am speaking for it because I have an avi, you're sadly mistaken. I have a fair share of updates I dislike, as do you. But simply stating a suspicion should be taken with open minds. Again, like I mentioned to creeperskelly, take all those negative 100+ votes and see what they would comment. I'm struggling to get through this opening statement. You're trying to equate the fact that people are not particularly skilled at a certain turret to format battles, which as I understand were in existence before added to the game. Alright, moving on. Railgun requires some of the most strategic timing in the game, unparalelled to others. It is unfortunate that some players think that you have to be good at Rail, but that doesn't make them a "dimwit" or any other derogatory noun. It reminds me of the stereotype of weapons like Firebird, Freeze and Twins, and that it doesn't take much skill to operate. Doesn't that make people who have that opinion dimwits? This seems like a more isolated occurrence. The ignorance of the accusers is your reasoning for insulting XP players. I think I got it. You've not convinced me I'm a dimwit, nor should your arguments convince anyone else.

Clearly you didn't read their reasoning. Had you not seen the number of dislikes on the update topics? Yes it tells you that people disliked them but it doesn't tell you why. Do you not have any sympathy? Like if you're told you can't have an ice cream cone without being told why. My only concern with this move is whether the quality feedback you seek, that otherwise would have been done with a negative click, is of any substance. You may be forcing people to voice negative opinions, but that doesn't mean its going to bring any overwhelming vindication to the majorities disliking of updates. Splitter: Great! thank you. It wouldn't be a Behind the Tank interview if I didn't ask; can you tell us about yourself? Yo, I'm from The Netherlands. I'm 20 years old and currently living on a farm. I do help here and there, but it's not my intention to take over the entire business in the near future. I currently study Water and environmental management at the NHL in Leeuwarden. final year. ( :o) so I'm pretty busy with school at the moment. Outside school and other obligations, I spend my time playing the bass, doing photography, and yes... Tanki! In the summer, I'm working at the water treatment facility nearby, and monitoring the insect-diversity of various natural parks; in the region for a research. It's a pilot year for some areas, so I'm the first one there that's studying the insects. Of course always with the camera. Always interesting to get to know those with farming blood. What factors played in a role in your decision to pursue an environmental role instead of an agricultural role? Well being a farmer has always been a hard but honest job. It takes some endurance to keep up with the working load. This is why I respect my dad and my uncles so much, and of course any farmer out there; doesn't matter if you're growing crops and/or having livestock, it's a tough and stressful job... definitely not as easy as many people think. Not even mentioning the administration part, as it's you that's running the entire farm yourself. I personally don't mind a bit of hard working from time to time, it strangely releases stress for me. And being outside in wide open field doing honest work is really nice, but to do it everyday and make a living out of it... nah. I try to combine my interests a bit. I've always loved the countryside and the nature, the water treatment aspect came with school... technology is pretty cool too you know, especially when it come to computerized systems. I definitely want to learn how to write specific programs in the near future. Technology has its ways of captivating us. If you do take over the farming business, eventually, what would you seek to improve and what would you keep the same? Improving... hmm. Well the administration part is being done by my uncle. My other uncle maintains contacts with cattle and forage dealers. He also maintains the robots; keeping them in good shape. And that's very important since they operate 24/7 to milk 150 cows. My dad runs the machinery and maintains contacts with wildlife organizations. Hmm... Heh, I believe everything is pretty organized already. Fair enough. Being a lover of the rural grind, what is your view of the urban culture? I couldn't survive in the city. :P The buildings and everything it's cramped and rushed. Totally different compared to the countryside. city slickers are very active people. They live a fast-paced life. They're more responsive you know? More assertive and generally speak more fluently as well. Whereas people on the countryside tend to observe more and become thoughtful. They're pretty stubborn too haha. That pretty much fits my attitude. :lol: But hey I've met some great people in the city as well. A lot of my friends live in a city. Definitely agree with you there. Social interaction in cities can be cool but the solidarity of the countryside is so appeasing. Since you've almost completed your secondary studies, what is your best piece of advice for those who are, or are soon to be students at that level? Definitely, both have their good and bad things. The best advice I could give other people is to plan ahead :P It sounds so logical, the study gives you plenty of freedom, but some can't handle that. I have to include myself in this. Fortunately I saw it coming and made drastic changes; this fixed my grades in time. I'm not the perfect student by far, but aslong as there's motivation, you can achieve so much more than you think. Amen! How long have you been playing bass? Who inspired you to pick it up and give it a try? 6 years. My sister and nephew were about to start a band for a village festival. They still needed a bass player back then. Both my nephew and sister play longer than me (guitar and drums), so it was quite hard to just play along with them at first :lol: But I'm very lucky to play with other musicians right from the start. I quickly learned the basics and started to do more advanced stuff after a year. I play some drums too, rhythm is so important. Bass and drums together are the core of the band. If you don't have a decent bass and/or drum player, the whole band sounds bad. Okay and lets be honest, bass guitars are the best looking instruments. B) Some people just look great with the bass in their hands, and you are one of those people. In your eyes, what are things that you would see in the "perfect photo"? Anything you specifically like to take photos of? I need to correct myself here, there's nothing like a perfect photo, at least... well I'm still searching for that moment! But there are really good ones especially if you capture rare or sudden happenings. Most of the stuff I do is macro photography and a bit of portraiture. Plants are not that hard to capture, insects are quite a bit harder. Portraiture is currently my favorite kind of photography. Shifting to the world of Tanki; what are some moments/events you're proud of? The privilege of owning a spectator function is also something I'm very proud of. I use it to make all kinds of videos to upload to the channel. From my view, people are pretty interested in my uploads :P That same audience is what keeps me maintaining the channel, much love towards them. I've won a few contests which I'm proud of, especially the best of contest back in 2012 as a WO3. You were there aswell, with Shaft I believe... ahh great days. Mmm. You must not read into my posts deeply then. I've not done it cumulatively like this, but I will whenever I leave. Have to agree with all your points. I commend the fact that you posted these opinions on the current game because it shows people that staff can be like ordinary players who wants the game to be better. Its quite easy for staff to become 'pro-every-update' and not see certain things through the eyes of a normal player. Of course, this is easier to do when you've resigned; however, having controversial opinions shown transparently by staff (current or former) further accentuates the fact that we are helpers that play crucial roles all in the community's best interest.

In a google search, I see that there are programs for mac that run Windows programs. I can't vouch for them in this circumstance so you'd be trying them at your own risk. Maybe and external USB keyboard would work? MapMaking isn't always contingent on using TTT. Its simply a tool to test your final product and make sure you didn't miss anything. You could still submit a map if possible.

There should be a flash player in the folder you received titled Win_Standalone_Debugger_date_EN, however I think its still likely that it will work on any other flash. You'll have to find out if it makes a difference using mac. In regards to...what? What do you mean?

Flash player and AIR are different. There is a link under the first spoiler to get AIR. It is installed so you can open and install AlternativaEditor because it came as a .air file. You just quoted the instructions on how to test a map so you're going to have to be more specific on what you don't understand.

Nice to see an older face come back around, however I feel the opposite. I'd like to point out that TO (or Alternativa Platform) wants their game to be played on mobile devices. I've used the term at least once in regards to types of players: Casuals. I imagine the everyday device user that plays a game or two isn't going to embrace the game. Much like how anyone find it on Miniclip. although a lot of people say they found the game through it, and thats fine. Good choice Unfortunately, you need mini goals for those with a one track mind, casuals, and their best friend would be the Daily Missions. I do give credit to casuals on how smart they are by going for power. Simply completing the missions everyday, without spending more time than needed, which may be just as profitable than spending hours in a battle like we all used to. It is entirely possible that it would become like Clash of Clans or any visit daily game. I definitely said this before, I didn't stick around this long to play with casuals who do their 3 jobs and are out.

No there is not, however, this prop library is not meant to extend very high up. There is a folder within the TTT called "library"

^ Don't edit your post to make it look like I missed it the first time. Read rule #3. I get it if you use a camera or a monitor once, but if you use more than a handful that are not in the library, your map will be marked down for it. The idea is to get you to use the resources I specifically told you to use.
