My suggestion is go for viking straight away, yes you will have a hard time in the beginning at M1, but you will become stronger overtime. Viking is in my opinion good for every gun... It's fast and strong and has a good rotation speed which makes it good at all game modes. I would always suggest Thunder :D (don't assume I'm right) because it has good turning speed, good damage, and is the most cheapest tier 2 gun. You will have to practise a lot though, and watch out for splash damage... on the other hand; this splash damage could be good in TDM, as you can self destruct in the enemy's face.
