Bring this part, and maybe even the rest of the argument, to PMs, it is of no use here.

And I wonder how staff members are incapable of producing a counter-argument to the posts they voted down, assuming it wasn't because they were simply too proud to accept criticism.

Well, some suggestions were given, however they were downvoted by many moderators seemingly without reason. It seems like those moderators don't care enough to explain why they're opinion stands. I personally haven't seen a single post from a moderators in this topic that was satisfactory.

I suppose they aren't required to, but it would help both sides come to an agreement if they did.

    [Issue 17] How to Jump

Jumping. Every tanker does it. Whether it be jumping off the blue team’s base in Silence in attempt to escape with the flag, or falling to a small platform in Abyss when playing hide-and-seek. But how can a player properly execute a jump and guarantee that they won’t flip or land on their side? Here in this guide I’ll describe the different methods you can use to jump without flipping your tank. How to jump when using a weapon with recoil: Jumping can be quite simple if one uses a weapon with recoil. The recoil weapons listed in order of amount of recoil in a single shot are: Twins, Smoky, Shaft, Thunder, Ricochet, and Railgun. To safely drop from heights when using a weapon with recoil, simply fire your weapon while falling through the air to cause the falling end of the tank to rise up and cause the tank to land on its tracks. This method is shown in the following video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8i37_9Ct2Ww Difficulty: 2/10 Effectiveness: 6/10 This method is useful in many situations, however it receives a 6/10 because it can be rather easy to shoot a falling tank causing it to flip. One doesn’t have to drive and fire straight all the time to perform this technique successfully. To land successfully when driving off a high ledge at an angle, aim your turret in the direction that the tank is dropping in. Another way is to fire in the opposite direction if using a weapon with enough recoil. These methods are also relatively easy to execute, they just need a little more practice and timing. They are shown in the following video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FLeGKMpTF_Y Difficulty: 5/10 Effectiveness: 7/10 This method is also pretty simple to execute, and it gives more protection against other players shooting at you while you fall, as it is possible for a shot’s recoil to help you right your tank. How to jump when using a weapon without recoil: Well that’s all nice and easy, but what if someone uses either Isida, Firebird, or Freeze? These weapons don’t have recoil, and therefore the previous methods cannot be applied. Well, first of all, do NOT just drive straight off the platform and hold down the up arrow or w key hoping your tank will be able to right itself once it hits the ground. Many times it does not work, and when it does, it wastes valuable time. The proper way to complete this jump is to either drive straight and then suddenly stop going forward while turning your tank to the side. If completed properly, the tank should rotate approximately 360 degrees before landing upright on the ground below. This method can be incredibly effective, but can only be executed well when dropping from relatively high platforms, such as the blue base in Silence. It will not work for lower platforms such as the bridge on Kungur, as shown in the following video, in which I used hornet due to it being one of the most common hulls used with short-ranged weapons at the lower, often less skilled ranks: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WAg-Vzhh_rk&feature=youtu.be Difficulty: 6/10 Effectiveness: 8/10 This was my favorite method to use for a long time, and often it worked very well, on Silence at least. The main downside of this method and the reason that it doesn’t receive a higher score is that it can only be used on certain platforms that aren’t too high or too low. The final method I will be elaborating on in this article is what I like to call the “helicopter maneuver.” To execute this method, place your tank close to perpendicular with the ledge that you will be jumping off of. Then, start driving forward while turning sideways toward the ledge. Your tank should spin around a bit before landing on its tracks. This method is the most difficult to perfect out of all of the methods described in this guide, mainly because most players simply don’t know how to start it. They often start turning while driving straight towards the ledge instead of turning towards the ledge while facing away. It is also possible to execute this maneuver successfully from many different heights, as shown in the following video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WbBDDHtWebI&feature=youtu.be Difficulty: 8/10 Effectiveness: 10/10 This method is incredibly useful. It receives full marks in its effectiveness because, if done correctly, it can safely land your tank after jumping from a ledge of any height without interference. Hopefully you all learned much from this guide, and will soon be able to use all of these methods effectively in your battles while all of those Russian and German players stand still in awe of what you just did! ;) Good Luck and See You on the Battlefield! [Issue 17] New Clan Rules; Decoded

A little over a month ago, the new rules for clans were released. They were received with varied reactions. Some were sad to have to leave their former teams or clans, others think the new rules will benefit cybersport, whereas some are just interested in the removal of official rank limits and the new formats for clan wars. But how have the new rules affected cybersport already? In this article the new rules will be explained, as well as the impacts they have had. Creation Rules: What it means, and its effects: This just means that to create a clan, one must obtain a clan license. To receive a license a must either create a team first and win team tournaments to win a clan license, or they need to gather at least ten players who have participated in at least one official clan tournament within the past six months and PM a moderator. If the proof is valid of the players' participation, then the moderator would create the clan topic, after which the members are required to confirm their membership within 24 hours. Rule 1: What it means, and its effects: This rule means that a clan's license can be revoked if it does not take part in two tournaments in a row, or if it isn't strong enough to win a single battle in two consecutive tournaments. A clan's license may also be revoked or suspended if the clan or its members break any rules, criticize the administration unreasonably, or refuse to comply with clan rules. Rule 2: What it means, and its effects: Because of this rule clans are not allowed to give or sell their clan licenses to others. Also, large clans are no longer able to make academies of their clan or other satellite clans and teams. A clan also isn't allowed to use the name of top or legendary clans that have been closed, and once a clan has been closed, it can't be re-opened. A clan topic cannot be recreated and a clan cannot change its name without a leader change, in which the clan leader should refer to moderators for instructions. The avatars of administrators and their helpers cannot be used in a clan topic. Players are unable to be in two clans at the same time, even on alternate accounts, and the rules also state that players can't be in both a clan and a team at one time. Banner codes of a member are no longer allowed to be posted in a clan topic without the consent of said player. Now when I clan member publicly announces that they are leaving from a clan, the clan leader must remove their name from the topic in the next transfer window, which happens every month, if the player leaves during a transfer window, then they must be removed during the same transfer window. Also, to join a different clan, you must first wait until your previous clan acknowledges your departure, and then post an official message in the topic of your new clan announcing your arrival (provided they accepted you of course). You become an official member the moment it is said in the transfer window topic, and can begin playing for your new clan a day after the transfer window ends. However, a player cannot join another clan for three months if they left their previous clan for non-clan cybersport events, such as joining a team, participating in a non-clan tournament, etc. Rule 3: What it means, and its effects: Basically this rule just states that a clan can only be created in one community in the respective language and cannot be re-opened in a different community if they were closed in another community. Also, English and German clans can now participate in Russian cybersport events, while Russian clans cannot participate in English and German cybersport. Rule 4: What it means, and its effects: Simply put, this rule prevents clans from playing in more than one tournament at a time as well as making them unable to play in non-clan tournaments such as the non-sport categories of TOF. For a clan member to participate in a non-clan tournament he/she must leave their clan first, and cannot join a clan again for the next three months. Rule 5: What it means, and its effects: Now if it is discovered after a check that players in clans were sharing accounts, the said players can be kicked from cybersport and receive a fine on their garages of up to 25%, it is also possible in this case that the clan can be banned from tournaments or have its license revoked. The same applies to the clan using third party software to cheat in battles. For obtaining a clan license by gathering 10 players who have played in clan tournaments recently, a leader cannot use anyone's alternate accounts, and players that shortly joined a clan just to participate in a tournament can be banned for fraud. Trolling is officially not allowed in clan topics, and moderators are now able to refuse or reactivate a license, or change the name or leader of a clan without needing to provide a reason. Rule 6: What it means, and its effects: This simply means that a curator of the clans section can break any of the rules stated above and give or remove a clan's license if they feel the want or need to do so. Rules for Clan Wars: What it means, and its effects: Clan "wars" outside of tournaments are no longer to be considered as wars, just trainings. For these trainings there are no true terms and conditions, as long as both clans agree upon the equipment use and limitations, the date and time of the battle, etc. In tournaments however, there are now set modes that will often be used and potentially modified based on the tournament, one example being the amount of players on each team being increased to 7 for the Lucky 7 tournament. To schedule a clan war now, there are two options. A clan leader can either join the Round Table of Clans by sending a PM to a moderator and arrange clan wars there, or they can contact the leader of another clan using Skype to arrange the battle. Now clan wars cannot be scheduled by posting a challenge in another clan's topic or by having the leader of the clan posting their Skype in another clan's topic and waiting for a reply. All clans wars are voluntary, and can be refused without reason. Clan War Formats: Medium Mode: Light Mode: What this means, and its effects: One of the biggest changes coming with the implementation of these modes is that now, mammoth and titan can no longer be used in tournaments! The rules and regulations have also become much more strict. In medium mode, Smoky, Freeze, and Isida are now completely useless, with Shaft a little less useless due to its possible use on 4v4 maps, such as Sandbox. On 6v6 maps, Thunder and Twins can only be used on light hulls, while on 4v4 maps Thunder can also be used on a medium hull, them being Viking, Hunter, and Dictator. Both sides can use only one medium hull in the war. Another huge change is that clans can use any paint in this mode excluding special award paints, some examples being Acid, Champion, and Lucky 7. Light mode is even more strict than medium mode. As the name suggests, only light hulls, them being Wasp and Hornet, can be used. Also on 6v6 maps, only Railgun and Smoky can be used, with a maximum of one Smoky user per team; and in 4v4 maps, only Railgun can be used. Paint restrictions are also stricter in light mode. On 6v6 maps, there can be two players using paints with protection from Railgun of more than 20%, and the rest of the team can use paints with Railgun protection less than or equal to 20%. There is no restriction on protection from Smoky however, so there could be two players on a team using Prodigi (46% protection from Railgun, 0% protection from Smoky), and the other four players could use Savanna (40% protection from Smoky, 20% protection from Railgun. On 4v4 maps, players using Hornets can use no protection paints whatsoever, while Wasp users can use paints with Railgun protection being less than or equal to 10%. Hopefully this article has benefited your knowledge of the new clan rules, and has shown and explained any changes that may have been unclear. Feel free to post any comments/suggestions below!
