***For those that already know this game and don't want to read the long post: Someone posts a picture, other people must caption it and the funniest one gets put up on the front page***

The game has two different roles

The poster and the caption makers

 

The game is simple, one person posts a picture, any picture! As long as it follows the rules of tankionline. This means no offensive content, nudity, etc, etc you can read the rest here.

The picture must have NO words on it.

 

An example of a good picture:

 

Now that someone has posted a picture, we need someone ELSE to caption it.

 

If you don't know what is a caption, this game is probably not for you, since you will need good understanding, creativity and humour to be successful in this game.

But if you insist, here is the definition:

 

cap·tion/ˈkapSHən/

Noun: A title or brief explanation appended to an article, illustration, or poster.

Verb: Provide (an illustration) with a title or explanation: "the drawings were captioned with humorous texts".

Synonyms: heading - title - headline

 

What the caption maker does, is simple, firstly, you must quote the picture that you want to caption.

When you are writting the message, you will see something like this:

[img=http://www.freewebs.com/dapatman/hammer.jpg]

This is only an example, the actual URL will be different for different picture.

What you do is remove the so all you have left is the URL

http://www.freewebs.com/dapatman/hammer.jpg

 

Now under the picture, write what you want to caption it with. Make sure to put quotation marks around your phrase: "like this" so people don't get confused.

After a while, I will pick the funniest caption and put it up on the front page of the forum.

 

It will look something like this:

 

Tip: Make sure you keep the cycle flowing! Always post new pictures and give your best try even if you can't think of a funny caption. Remember that captioning is more important than posting pictures, so try to keep a higher ratio of caption makers to posters.

 

Important rules and tips

• You can't caption your own picture

• Make sure captions are appropriate, humorous, and keep swearing at its minimum

• No inappropriate pictures

• Follow the regular tanki rules as usual

• You may discuss, but captions must be in quotation marks: "like this"

• Don't post too many pictures, there should be more captions than pictures

• Don't repost any pictures or captions that were already used

• When quoting a picture, remove the so it is reduced to a link to prevent flood

• No oversized images

• The image can be tanki related or not, but it must be something interesting and captionable

P.S. Can we add things to be captioned ourselves, or do we need your permission? I think the latter would be a better option, otherwise this thread will get spammed.

 

You can add your own photos that you want others to caption, but for the sake of the game don't add too many so that other photos get captioned too! And you are not allowed to make a captioned version of the photo, that is my job :lol:

And if you post a photo, you can't caption your own, caption someone else's.

If this is really what the public wants, I am ok with it. I am trying to do what is best so the public can have most fun. I will think about it, for now continue captioning Patrick :lol:

 

Keep up the captions, I see some really funny ones there, and you can submit more than one caption if you want. Funniest one after 24 hours wins! 8)
