Okay I've noticed a A LOT of people have found ways to curse and be extremely rude by making abbreviations of... you know:

f*** you

you b******

Son ** * ****

that stuff but finding abbreviations is REALLY ticking my parents off and i can't play much when they're around. Is it possible for the admins to block that stuff?

There is a auto block feature, but you must understand this for example.

You can turn off the chat in battle and arrange you're window where you can not see server chat if you wish.

No, it's not as simple as that, because people would just find a way around the auto-ban system by using spaces hypens or symbols to make the swear.

 

If your parents hate seeing the swears, then merely turn off the battle chat in the Options.

It's easier said than done. Clearly you aren't a programmer otherwise you would understand this.

 

Like SilentShadow said, there are many ways for people to get round the auto-ban system. Imagine how big the code would need to be to block absolutely every variation of a swear word, let alone every swear word.

 

Eg. I did a 2 minute Google of laughing abbreviations and these are what i found in those 2 minutes. I would say for 2 minutes searching of this there is a lot and then think about all of the variations of each one with spaces and random symbols.

I've started to notice stuff like "fu" which is obvious what it is. But what about if this letter arrangement was part of a normal pleasant word.

 

 

 

To be honest, i think the only solution is to get more chat moderators. It's just a case are they willing to take on more people? I would love to become one myself as i hate seeing all of the foul language used in chat even though it doesn't offend me.

We have a lack of mods because most who apply either don't make it, or are rejected, and we may not have enough mature people applying.

If you want to avoid curses, block the people who curse, or ask them to stop. If you want, go to the German server, where there at least people curse in German.

simple. Go to the administrator and ask if they could make an auto band for all types of curses like *'s and then make...well i can't curse... Example: Pretend heyis a curse. make HEy,hEY,H-ey,etc. all appear to the computer as curses. And allow 1 word before ban so if it is a one time thing then nothing bad happens. Hope this helped! I have coded java and I can say this will be near impossible people the amount of variations this will take wayyyy to long. Not too mention it would constantly need updating, just turn off your chat or learn to "IGNORE/BLOCK" people. And if they made a script it would be faulty.
