Spectator Mode

I've been thinking about the Spectator Mode and I thought that maybe to make it more safe for tanki to let anybody use it is to maybe:

1) Only let spectators chat with eachother

2) Perhaps put a rank limit on spectators in certain battles

3) Only put it in effect for clan battles

Just my suggestions that I'd like you guys to look over.

this is one of two threads about spectators, i think it would be a good idea so that new players can see the game played at higher ranks. also a chance for them to see the different turrents in action. don't know about viewing clans ( not in one ) but don't they make those private battles anyways?

If both teams could do this, the advantage is evened out. It's a bit like using drugs in a battle. People could say that using drugs would give a team an advantage. But if both teams drug, then both teams get the advantage and there then is no advantage as both teams' "advantages" are cancelled out. It's the same here. If both teams can do it, it just gives an added dimension to gameplay. I also think that:

-Only moderators on spectator mode should be able to view the health of players and mines. Normal players should be able to view just the nicknames and the ranks.

-A game creator can choose an option whether to allow spectator mode or not. (But even if spectator mode is turned off, moderators can still be spectators of the game anyway, like how they can see private battles)

It wouldn't be a disaster. How would you know. Not everyone in the game could conference with their friends, and give away info on the opposing team...Two modes, Moderator spectator mode , and Player spectator mode

You can still talk by skype. Tanki couldn't do anything to stop that.

Im the first person who want to see high level battles in real time, but certainly it will be a disaster the spectator mode. To much advantage, even if you can't see the mines and life, one team could have the best possible intel, where are the players, who's coming to attack, how many defenders, etc. It's extremally unfair for the team without friends "scouting". In the other hand, how many spectators per game? because the lagging will be huge.

Thanks nick +10, i have a new out look on this subject. spectators could use a third party communication program to inform friends of the mine placement, where shafts are campped, any which way a team is making a run for the flag. leave this option to the mods and admins to use.

I personally like the spectator mode available to the public.

Like skitee said, maybe the public may have limited sight on in spectating, like you can't see Health Bars and Mines.

I am bumping this because i have an idea for it. Have any of you ever played WOT? You know how when you die, you can watch other people on your team play until the end of the battle? Well, I think it would be cool if you could have a spectate button over each join battle button for each team. Then, when you press it, it would bring you to the battle behind someone playing, as if you were the person playing as them. Then, you could use the Left/right or A/D buttons to switch between what player you are watching behind. Once you were on spectator mode for one team on a certain battle, you could not be in spectator mode for the other team until the battle ends. I think that would be kinda cool. You could watch cool battles if they are full and other things like that. What do you guys think?

i played WOT nice game but lot lot alot of lag

 

anyway it's better if we only able to use this mod in battles (i mean i must get in the battle) and only able to watch your team

so then we can spec on hackers O.O and then we will have awesome proofs for hackers

for spectator mode the person could be on a view of a player e.g lets say i am playing a battlle and someone goes into spetator mode (spectotr for a red tea or blue) that person who is spector can choose a player form thta team and be in the same view at tha tank so he watches 1 tank and he ca chage to any tank on the team
