Game suggestions

Sorry, but I didn't see a "game suggestions" topic. I think there should be one, and it be "stickeyd" with a stick pin to keep it on top.

 

Suggestions:

1) A friends list, if it hasn't already been suggested. Something/somehow you can contact your friends to see when they are playing and on what server. Currently, the closest thing that comes to that is a listing of the members under "Member Listing," but there is no search function to find a member. And I'm not sure all the members there are members of the game. I.e. the member listing stops at 4/2012 and I joined after that.

 

A) For the friends list, something that if you find someone in a battle you want to be friends with, click on their name and hold (for example, alt, or shift) as a special function to add them to your friends list. Similar to the current click+ctrl for copying a name.

 

2) THIS NEEDS TO BE IMPLEMENTED ASAP: Sorry for the all caps, not yelling, just wanted to bring you attention to this very important issue. There needs to be a key combination to cancel self-destruct. Many times I've been in battle and have turned over and hit the delete key, and just as a did it a teammate pushed me and turned me right side up. I still self-destructed. So it would be EXTREMELY helpful if there were a key combination to cancel the self-destruct.

Good idea, thanks. The search feature turned up little when I entered "friends list" but it turned up about a 1,000 topics for cancelling the self-destruct. Apparently I'm not the only one who thinks it's a good idea. :)

I have another suggestion:

When creating a battle, let there be a check box to EXCLUDE the railgun as a weapon. Sometimes that thing is excessively annoying for those of us who like a traditional face to face close quarters battle.

MOSTFA, with all due respect, I have to whole-heartedly disagree. Sometimes there are weird situations that happen in the game that put your tank right side up. I was recently in a battle where I flipped upside down. I pressed the del key to self-destruct, and someone shot me off the edge of an upper level and I ended up flipping in mid-air and landed on a lower level right-side up. Then I was left with having to wait to self-destruct. There are times when I've had tanks land on the edge of mine and flipped me on my side. Then I was able to shoot the ground and right myself. I'm just saying there are times when it would be nice to cancel the self-destruct.

 

Is it necessary? Probably not. It just would be nice.

Change the link of "forum.tankionline.com" of the upper left tankionline logo to "tankionline.com" so a player can easily get back to the tankionline home screen from visiting the forums.

 

Currently, if you click the logo at the upper left, you just go back to the forums. This should be an easy fix to implement.

Suggestion:

On Member Listing page, have a search capability. That way you don't have to scroll through page by page. You can search on username or part of username. It would also be nice to add a column to show rank, in case of 2 or more usernames that are similar to each other. And you should be able to search on rank as well. Last, be able to sort the columns at the top (maybe that might be beneficial).

 

Also, I wouldn't mind putting in an email address (disposable) so that other players could contact me. But I don't want to use the email address I used to bind my account, for spam purposes. I think there should be a way to enter an additional email address on your account to make visible on the member listing page.

You should blame the inventor of INTERNET for that,

 

as for that visible friends list, its good... really good. I always have to let the whole lobby notice: ''are you there? *name* when I'm searching for just one player.

a player list would be great, the high rankers should be on top of the list... the lowest ranks at the bottom to make you finding the player easier.

But just showing friends is a bit useless... why not highlight them and show the whole lobby population aswell?

I was actually talking about both. The very first post, suggestion, was concerning a tankionline friends list that you could add friends to and see who was online.

 

The last post(?) was dealing with a searchable function for the Member Listing page in the forums. If the headers of the Member Listing could be sorted, upper to lower, or lower to upper, and that would result in what you suggested. But it would definitely be nice to search for a particular friend.

 

As far as your last idea goes, I think that's a good one too. In the game, tankionline, show who all is online, everyone, and then you could have a friends tab that just showed your friends. So if you wanted to search for someone you just meet in a battle they're not going to be on your friends list, you could search for them in the "all players" tab, find them, and add them as a friend. Really Good Idea.
