2 . black holes have been observed they have some very unusual properties in that everything is drawn into a black hole except light and this is the lynch pin of cutting edge astro physics at the moment why is not light drawn into them we just don't know, this "reflectivity" of a black hole is called albedo libration it is thought that very close to the edge of a black hole very tiny particles of matter one + charged one - charged are created at the same time as they are attracted to each other they collide giving off a tiny amount of heat and light then they disappear. this light emission from a black hole is how we are able to observe them. It is also thought that the solid matter that gets drawn into a black hole becomes super condensed, and if you could take a sample the size of a normal match box it would weigh about the same as the planet earth

3.we don't know if black holes could be used for space travel I expect you would be crushed within pico seconds along with all the other matter, how ever it is thought that worm holes in time and space do exist but this goes into the realms of string theory and multiverse theory

4.well the universe is quite large the light generated from the big bang 13.7 billion years ago is still expanding and its also increasing in speed in its expansion so light travels at approximately 186,000 miles per second simple example 60x 60 x 24 gives us 86400 seconds in a day 86400 x 186,000 = 1.60704 to the power of 10 miles light could travel in 1 day assuming it did not bend around any planets stars ,if you would like to carry on with the calculation be my guest

6 we have many replacements for oil at the moment the holy grail is nuclear fission but its requires incredible science to achieve it, in the mean time engines that run on water are already in existence and some boffins are manufacturing artificial petrol / gasoline, electric cars that run on photo voltaic cells have already crossed the whole of Australia

7 i assume this is a question about resources and quite simply our own population of the planet will become self regulating if we cannot feed everyone we know what that means and eventually no matter how many people are born a stable population will indeed prevale, for those that remain who knows what life will be like

14 Sentience can be somewhat over stated the illusion of true AI ( artifical inteligence) is very difficult to achieve. some types of robot can perform tasks such as the ASIMO robot can actually run but how was it developed, the brain for it ran billions of simulations over 4-5 years until it finally found the right match so that it didn't not just fall over like a drunk, it can be argued that it taught itself but I think we all know that self awareness is something completely different. Will a computer ever say "I think therefore I am" and know what it means I don't know. There is however some research being undertaken into bio computers which use living tissues to store information, weather these ever become wide spread or powerful or sentient or even self sustaining who know ...

16 Quantum Physics thats a whole nother ball of wax the key is how do we merge the theories of the very large and the very small if we knew this we would be able to work out how gravity works near to a black hole. Quantum physics is just the study of the smallest particles in the universe and how they interact with each other... and if you wish a more detailed answer of which I am sure you are cable of finding apply for a phd in physics. :D

lightning can indeed hit the same place twice if you go to the guinness book of records there is one person who has been hit 7-8 times by lightning. Lightning can also be induced scientists shot a wire up into a storm on a rocket when it hits the sweet spot lightning is discharged google induced lightning to watch a you tube unfortunately the quality is very poor but still spectacular

there are four possible answers to this: The heavist element can be given in terms of the number of atoms or its atomic weight this is ununoctium but this is man made, the heaviest naturally occuring element is uranium

osmium and iridium are the heaviest elements in terms of mass per unit volume they are both approx twice as dense as lead there is no clear answer for which one has the greatest density

Well, actually, it may happen that a new element is discovered by a collision made inside one of the Particellar Accelerator at CERN (Geneve) or any of the other Accelerators.

Right now, Ununoctyo was made in the same was as written above.

Why does a boomerang come back if thrown correctly?

it is all to do with the shape of the boomerang in very simple terms a boomerang is a double wing. One wing or half is carved normally and the other 1/2 is carved inverted to the other one. Normal wings derive lift as air flows over the curved top surface which takes longer to go around the wing then the flat bottom surface, as it take longer it has to move faster over this surface and reduces air pressure on top with the disparity in pressure the greater forces from below the wing forces it upwards. The other half of a boomerang with its inverted wing surface means the greater force is above and forces the wing down. As both of these forces come into play together one side of the boomerang goes down and the other side goes up which means it naturally turns in the air forming the classic arced flighted we see in returning boomerangs. There are other factors which come into play such as the size of the boomerang, its weight and how hard it is thrown. If any of these factors are mismatched or not sufficient just like if you make a paper aeroplane badly the boomerang will also fall out of the air
