Friendly fire in CTF

I was playing CTF with friendly fire enabled (I should have known better).

 

It was a battle with a 4 man team. The team I was on had 2 players (including me) and the other team had 4 players. My team mate and I went after the flag. I kept the other team busy while he took the flag and remained, detaining them. This is team work and fair play.

 

Again, we went after the flag. We fought hard and my team mate died, but I was able to grab the flag. I was half way back to base with my turret pointing behind me when I noticed I was being shot at. I looked over and saw it was my own team mate. I died, he grabbed the flag for the score. He did that to me a second time and I left.

 

I see nothing in the rules about this type of play. So, am I to assume that what he was doing is fair play?

 

I can see some advantages to enabling friendly fire, such as: (1) If a team mate is obstructing fair play by blocking other team mates. (2) If a team mate grabs the flag, takes a dive and lands upside down (I've seen team mates grab the flag, dive, land upside down and refuses to relinquish the flag or self-destruct).

There is such a rule actually, see Rule 1.24.

If you have proof, you can post it here, and if it's enough and is showing the guy was sabotaging your team, he can get banned.
