Why do you have a green colored pencil in your Forum avatar?

It's not actually a green colour pencil. The outside is green but the lead is just a standard black pencil, not a colour pencil. It is green on the outside to go with my helmet and shirt.

Hello there,

how do you write your articles? Are you relying on moments of inspiration, or do you keep composing them piece by piece methodically? How many times do you reread/rewrite an article before it is ready for publishing? Are you writing them alone or is it a joint effort? How do you proofread them?

Hello there,

My articles are generally part of each. Most months, I will have 2/3 premeditated articles, things which I know which I will be doing, and then I try to write in those topics as best I can. I will then add to that articles written with "flashes of inspiration". The former tend to be better. In terms of articles for the newspaper, it normally is one or two reread/rewrites, sometimes even none as I trust Tommy60 and conanthedestroyer to point out my mistakes. I write my articles alone, although often I ask some people for information. I proofread articles by skim reading through the articles, marking out things which sound very awkward. Then I go thoroughly through it, reading and re-reading each sentence. If I see or feel anything is wrong I try to think of some way to correct it. If I cannot think of any way to correct it then I generally let it be - I am a practical person and I do not appreciate giving or receiving criticism where no improvement is suggested to be implemented.

On average how much of the material do you rewrite before it is finally ready for publishing 20%? 50%? 80%? Are your better articles the ones you rewrite more than the average? If you keep improving the article beyond some optimum ratio does its quality remain unchanged, or does the material lose its integrity and starts falling apart?

Also, what prompted your joining in back in 2010? What was the game like back then? What keeps you in this very game still (as opposed to other simulators)?

What is your motivation for remaining the moderator? Have you ever teamed up with MadDog21? Looks like he grew disillusioned over time, while you did not?

Am I the only one with the name Scrubby Scrubston?

Unlikely.

Am I the only one with blue hairs ?

Of course not, you ever seen the Cookie Monster?

woo, a lot of questions.

On average, in articles for the newspaper I rewrite around 20%. For everything else it is about 80%. The knowledge of having other editors makes a big difference.

My better articles are the ones I rewrite less (again in contrast to everything else I write) because I only rewrite those I'm not happy with.

If I keep adding to the article, I like to think that the quality is unchanged. I believe myself to be quite good at "patter" (irrelevant, pointless talk which has no purpose except for increasing the length of what you are writing)

I joined the game upon the invitation of the friend, back then the game was very simple. To be honest, not too much changed up till the rebalance in terms of the game, but there were far less buyers in the old days and a far less proportion of players could speak English.

I remain in the game because of the people. I have made friends here and that is the sole reason.

I am not a moderator, I have never teamed up with MadDog21, ever, and in terms of disillusionment and motivation I would have you know that I am starting to lose motivation and getting disillusioned in this game.

What was better, this old version of this game I had never played before, or the current version, and why?

It's tough. The old version of the game was far better to be a lower rank in and to start the game in. Pre-123 update, I would have said that the new version was better, because the rebalance made things far more interesting, but now I guess I would have to say the old version. Just.

If you found out that you were born out of a rare bread of porcupines what would be your immediate response?

Intrigue.

What is your dream college? What would you like to see youself when you reach your midlife crisis age?

When starting this thread did you expect more personal questions, more questions about the game mechanics, about the community as a whole or the newspaper in particular?

Do you expect the community to have more interest in you, rather than the other contributors to the project, or are you just the fist one to have come up with this Q&A idea?

What do you mean by friendship in the context of an online game project? Just somebody for making a quick win, or just a project for establishing long term relations?

As a member of staff are you kept better informed with the project plans, or do you find out all the news no faster than the rest of the game community?

Are the Russian and the English newspapers coordinated by one and the same editor(s) in chief, or are these two completely independent groups? Are you writing here just for the sake of fun with your friends, or for other reasons, purposes and goals? Do you think your publications are making the difference? What difference are they making and to whom?

Why all the vlog issues for the English speaking community always feature just Bruce, only Bruce and nobody but Bruce? Does anybody else write material for the videos? Would it be correct to assume that nobody among the developers speaks any English at all? Not even Maksim-Khusainov, the author of http://en.tankiforum...howtopic=168010 Are they just sitting there waiting to learn all the new tricks of the trade until the latest manual updates are translated into Russian [by e. g. the Marketing Department]?

What is your attitude towards http://3dtank.com/ is it the bright future or the dead end of the project?

Do you prefer answering simple questions, difficult questions or pointless questions and why?

Have you started this thread to learn more about yourself, the game, or the community?

What was your online gaming experience before you joined in this project? Which other online gaming projects are you taking active part in? For how long?

Have you had any famous rivalries in Tanki so far and why have you been deemed a super cow.

Why is your first name Micheal.

If you had one combo which you would dare troll with what would it be.

Do you like beer?

Yes. I got Grade 7 on the Piano. FYI, Grade 8 is the highest possible grade so that is pretty good, dare I say it myself.

Awesome, I love piano... I´m doing lessons at the moment, but I´m no where yet.

What is your dream college? What would you like to see youself when you reach your midlife crisis age?

I don't want to go to university (what we call college in England). If I change my mind, I would, of course, want to get a scholarship to Oxford or Cambridge..... ;)

When starting this thread did you expect more personal questions, more questions about the game mechanics, about the community as a whole or the newspaper in particular?

I don't know. I just created it in the hope of more interesting conversations on the forum.

Do you expect the community to have more interest in you, rather than the other contributors to the project, or are you just the fist one to have come up with this Q&A idea?

I expected nothing of the sort.

What do you mean by friendship in the context of an online game project? Just somebody for making a quick win, or just a project for establishing long term relations?

A project for establishing long term relations. What kind of friendship is it if all you use them for is for your own benefit.

As a member of staff are you kept better informed with the project plans, or do you find out all the news no faster than the rest of the game community?

Not at all, I know nothing of any project plans. In reality, the newspaper is left very much to ourselves, all we do is write the newspaper out of our own minds and get paid for it every issue. That's pretty much it, in all other ways we are normal players.

Are the Russian and the English newspapers coordinated by one and the same editor(s) in chief, or are these two completely independent groups? Are you writing here just for the sake of fun with your friends, or for other reasons, purposes and goals? Do you think your publications are making the difference? What difference are they making and to whom?

Originally, our newspaper was coordinated by the Russian chief, but he resigned to focus on the Russian side and we are now completely separate groups. I am writing to get writing experience (I wish to go into journalism as a career) and to help and interest other people (and because it's my job and until I resign I have to do my job!). I do not know whether my publications are making any difference, I reckon most people enjoy them, I'm not sure about anything else in that respect.

Why all the vlog issues for the English speaking community always feature just Bruce, only Bruce and nobody but Bruce? Does anybody else write material for the videos? Most of the administration at Perm speak English, as do most people in the world, I know that from past video blogs et cetera. I do think that some people are paid to write material for the videos, but I don't know who. I think that the reason why the vlog contains only Bruce is because of the unwillingness of the developers to allow anyone whom they are uncertain about to speak material "on behalf of the administration" (For example, the reporters previously were able to write articles to be posted on the blog on the homepage but now we are not allowed to do so as it is the "developer's blog"). I don't understand your last question.

What is your attitude towards http://3dtank.com/ is it the bright future or the dead end of the project?

I don't know, I guess it is a good medium by which Tanki can expand and reach people.

Have you started this thread to learn more about yourself, the game, or the community?

None of them.

What was your online gaming experience before you joined in this project? Which other online gaming projects are you taking active part in? For how long?

I had little online gaming experience before Tanki Online, at the moment I am involved in nothing except Tanki Online although I do play other games.

what is your name?

what is your quest?

what is the airspeed velocity of an unladen swallow?

My name is Michael. My quest is to destroy boredom and eat jelly babies. The airspeed velocity of an unladen swallow is 27.65 miles an hour, give or take 0.7 mph.

If a player is always late for every fight, what is the probability this is just a yank? :-)

Very likely.

I've just come across http://en.tankiforum...howtopic=168962

Are you but a troll? Shame on you man! :)

What's wrong with trolling?

Have you had any famous rivalries in Tanki so far and why have you been deemed a super cow.

I have had no famous rivalries, I have been deemed a super cow because some people consider me to be super and I am a cow. My first name is not Micheal, thank you very much, it is Michael. I would use a Sneaker-Converse combination to troll with. I have never tried beer.

Do you like Tanki Online?

On the whole, yes.

how much wood could a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood?

How much wood could a skitee chuck if a skitee could chuck wood?

I have already answered the first question. And the second is pointless as I cannot chuck wood so why should I bother to answer it?

Are you telling me there's not a single college in the whole Britain? http://www.collegesinbritain.co.uk/region_selectlist.cfm?regionID=2

None of them.

What were you expecting from this thread when creating it "In a hope of getting slightly more edifying fun topics"? Just mere fun, nothing edifying whatsoever?

> What do you mean by friendship in the context of an online game project?

A project for establishing long term relations. What kind of friendship is it if all you use them for is for your own benefit.

What does it take to deserve your friendship?

I am writing to get writing experience (I wish to go into journalism as a career) and to help and interest other people (and because it's my job and until I resign I have to do my job!).

Do you have any publications outside this project? Are they available online? Where can one read them?

Are you seriously calling a job this exchange of this very real time of your life for the ephemeral permission from Perm to have better weapons in a totally and completely virtual world? Have you been paid at least one real world peanut for all the effort you've spent?

Most of the administration at Perm speak English, as do most people in the world, I know that from past video blogs et cetera.

Where is this most people in the world then? Do you expect generations of people wasting all their lives in the middle of Siberia, China or Africa to be capable of expressing themselves in English nevertheless? Isn't it correct that all the Russia, Europe, Middle East and the Americas are sharing one and the same cluster at http://tankionline.com/ while the Far East has got its own personalised cluster http://3dtank.com/ with not more than a single word in the language?

And if the Administration and Developers in Perm are capable of expressing themselves in English, why are they so persistent in shying away from all the videos and inactive in the community forum too? Are they just as shy with the Russian community media?

What's wrong with trolling?

How about "Underhand, unfair and damned un-English" for one? There's more at http://www.lurkmore.com/wiki/Anonymous Makes one particularly proud of oneself right?
