Let's discuss the Custom Made Paint Contest

I have some raw images that look good on every tank combination, so I can't say it sucks. But I do prefer a "self-made" paint, it is more creative, less boring and you can make it fit all the tanks perfectly.

I sure hope the judges of this contest will check how the paints look on other tanks, and I think they will.

Thats right, some fit really nice. But I preffer edited too.

Not sure, but that doesn't look like the actual texture to me^

I hope they look at those google'd pictures, and prefer self made paints over those.

Sure some will say ''I can't make my own paints''... well than learn it, learn to use GIMP or something.

I was going to use some Google Images if I found the right kind... I found a few, but when I thought about it... I'd hate to be winning with something that's not really mine, if anyone knows what I mean.

So, I just decided to get PhotoShop played around with it... and I got my Entry. :D

Even with an easy program like Paint.NET you can make some nice looking paints, just pic some colors, twist, turn, change contrast, blur etc. and you'll have something special.

Care to explain?

Sorry; but from what I understood, you don't know how different the paints look on all the hulls.

I perfectly know, we are just asking the contestants to choose the one that looks best to them.

Now I realize; only one hull is necessary because you are not showcasing your paint so that it can get added into the game and be seen on every hull...it is just a talent show to reward tankmen who have a good sense of style and creativity!

That's why it is best to choose the paint with the most pizzazz and capture your tank's "good side" so that it looks most amazing to the developers.

It's not necessarily about looking the best on every tank, just the fact that it can look good!

What a stupid rule no offence...

Let us allow to post max 5 combinations in one picture, I don't see any problems with that.

This is because not every paint fits on all the tanks;

and it's pretty obvious it has to fit perfectly... players use different paints on different tanks in the game itself.

My whole work is baised on this;

I have cropped, in and unzoomed, the texture to make it fit as good as possible on every combination.

So you guys are telling me this is all a waste, and you just have to make a random (not symmetrical) paint?

Nearly 70% of the paints here are copied from google, and saved in tankviewer; ofcourse it will look good on one combination at that particular perspective...

And this, I can can't call creativity... no edits at all were involved.

I see a lot of entries who have posted paints, that would definitely not look good on all the combinations, (yes I've tested their textures in tankviewer.)

Either prove me the downside of posting multiple tanks, or edit that rule... as it will only result in better paints.

Plus, it will make this contest a lot more interesting.

Please...

I got my image for this contest from google too. But dont forget I changed the size and colorized it with photoshop. Also I changed the contrast and removed some things with clone pensil. Just using a raw image sucks.

they are confused how many 10000 they will distribute ....

now they are making many rules to fk peoples. it was not said anywhere to draw an image. editing in photoshop is creativity . some people made some great paints tanki should take some of them in game. i don't know tanki should give them reward or not but some of them are very nice.

photoshop is so expensive, whos gonna spend that much on it? i googled the paint :P

Paint.NET, my friend, that's all you need. It's free, pretty simple to use and does a pretty good job when it comes to editing.
