In my opinion the reason this should be taken down or closed or just not have been made in the first place is if because he shows that he is hurt by bullies then he is letting the bullies win by showing them that they have upset him.

I really didn't detect any direct textual reference to being hurt by these people. What I did see was 5556632's exposure of the violators. And by doing so, maybe they will think twice before doing it again. Victimization of any kind should never be kept in the shadows. Those who victimize others in any way, thrive off of the silence of their victims and hope that they are never exposed. I don't want to start a "flame war" here, but the only inkling I got of 5556632 feeling upset, or hurt; was where a particular member of the forum implied minimal agreement with the "bullies". And yes, if he does show distress; this will only fan the flames of indignation. However, in the same note, "Bullies" never win. It may seem that way in the early stages of life, but they are most definitely in for a rude awakening as they approach adulthood.

If people like this are named and shamed on a forum we can make a difference. Ignoring and reporting to mods is a start, but not enough. Don't play in teams and clans with them. Don't join in their forum posts. Don't join their battles. Don't chat with them. Make it clear its not welcome in our Tanki community. Cut them off cold. Yes - the world is not rainbows and sunshine, but we can choose to change it. Its not okay. Never.

To begin. I realize that the OP did not state himself being hurt but I was simply informed that he apparently when I was replied to about this topic being pointless.

 

The OP is clearly hurt and upset by this stuff. To me, at best its nasty, immature "mob mentality" hiding behind anonymous user names. Good, old fashioned bullying. I'm all in favour of the name-and-shame approach, and I disagree that its pointless. Support the bullied, not the bullies!

 

and I would also like to point out that I didn't say that it should be left in the dark but to be reminded that it isn't true. Here:

 

I like what you preach and cutting them off is a good idea, better than making topics. Bullies feed off of the fact that they know they have been able to make you feel bad and by posting topics about it only fuels their fire. Don't give them that power by letting them know that they've bothered you. Same goes for real life. If you ignore what they say and believe it's not true then you haven't let them win. :)

 

 

And finally, I know it's sad and morbid and I like what you stated better, but in some cases the bullies DO win which is why it's important to not allow it to happen. I really hope you guys know what instances I'm referring to so I don't have to explain it. :/

They don't know you in real life therefore they don't know you or anything about you which means that you should realize that nothing that they say should matter because it's not true and the only opinion of you that should matter is your own. (Kind of a run-on sentence there, sorry, too tired to chop it up)

I would also like to request that you proofread before you click "post" kind of like how you should think before you say something in real life inmstead of typing out whatever pops into your mind and sending it out for the world to read.

Yes, there have been some very grave instances as a result of bullying. And it may seem as though the bully has won, but there are no winners. Life only becomes a match if people are willing participants. It is good that people are standing up and bringing this human debasement to the forefront, more than ever before.
