Members having the ability to lock their own threads on the forum

I discussed with other community managers.

The idea is nice. However, there are sometings that aren't good about it.

For example, when someone opens a topic and discussion starts in it, not off-topic one, people just develop the topic, share ideas.

If a person who started it decides to close it what happens next? These guys open another topic where they continue discussion.

As a result we have many small topics with similar ideas.

So it is unlekely to happen. If anything changes, I'll tell you guys.

mod can open it agin and make a starter unable to close it

But what's the worst thing that can happen with votes? People with no life that live just to 'hate' posts? It's just red numbers, nothing more. While giving everyone partial mod powers is just ridiculous.

 

You're saying it will help mods. It may help in one way, but on the other side they'll get much more work - dealing with trolls creating topics and immediatly closing them, dealing with 'wannabe' mods, repeating Thread closed in their own topics and locking them, etc.

Think about it.

Hog, I understand you and your brother skit don't like me for some reason and always try to find something wrong in me and in what I do. But seriously..closing your eyes just to prove me wrong is just pathetic.

As for your question - who - many people. Many trolls will do it on purpose, many people will do it just because they want to act like mods..Also if the thing gets enabled, people will need weeks to understand what to do and how to do it - thus, countless question topics asking 'how to lock my topic', 'what does that mean pls help'

 

Anyway, that's just my opinion. Devs are free to do whatever they want, but I don't think this thing is needed at the moment. It will just mess the forum.

FBI, nothing can be perfect, there are people in this forum that are trollers. Like right now, some people create useless topics like "hi".

This update will help the majority of the community.

Its not that I don't like you as a person, I just disagree with you on a lot of things co-incidentally. :mellow: I believe that, even if trolls do that, or noobs dont understand it, its going to be generally more useful, than nothing happening.
