What about removing certain posts? I would like to delete some posts that people make in my thread. Heck, even the staff derails threads, wouldn't mind shortening some of my threads a few pages by getting rid of only their posts

The community isn't mature enough yet, most of the people will abuse it. Not good.

Ok honestly, this is offensive. You can't have the ability to lock your conference room's door because people will abuse it? How on Earth can a feature like this even be abused.

 

Hog, I understand you and your brother skit don't like me for some reason and always try to find something wrong in me and in what I do. But seriously..closing your eyes just to prove me wrong is just pathetic.

As for your question - who - many people. Many trolls will do it on purpose, many people will do it just because they want to act like mods..Also if the thing gets enabled, people will need weeks to understand what to do and how to do it - thus, countless question topics asking 'how to lock my topic', 'what does that mean pls help'

 

Anyway, that's just my opinion. Devs are free to do whatever they want, but I don't think this thing is needed at the moment. It will just mess the forum.

Stop being so proud of yourself and think for a second about the time this will save moderators and consultants, unless you're jealous of letting the people have a little bit of power over their own threads there shouldn't be a problem.

 

In my two+ years of being a forum mod, this is the only feature I would beg to receive, it's easy to deal with three trolls instead of dealing with hundreds of unclosed threads.

Only trolls would do that, but surely they all can be banned. The topic founder would be sensible and think before openning/closing useful topic :)

Finally a sensible person, the moderators already ban the trolls, all this feature would do is reduce the amount of threads they have to close.

Guys please stop arguing. I already promised to look into this and discuss the possibility of implementation of this feature. There are pros and cons both. Thanks for a really good idea anyway, I'll keep you posted.
