Haven't tried it, but most people say that it's the most OP M2 available in terms of stats. It can hold its own against most M3s.

Smoky m2 is the most everlasting m2 crystals can buy  :D but if you are planning on getting m3s soon then buy it only in discount

Absolutely, no doubt about it. I bought it pretty late but even then it proved to be worth all those crystals. I am still using it and it's still good as new. The impact force is lovely, you'll have the ability to divert aim of your opponents (specially rails) and you can use it to your advantage. The critical, this thing certainly helps as you already know what it does and while using an M2, the chances of getting one are better here. Also, the damage is quite improved compared to M1, you'll easily feel the difference.

+one  can survive in gissimo battles with a little MU'ed M2 if not M3,

M1 Smoky is useful all the way until Major, and possibly until Colonel. I've been using my M1 Smoky since Sergeant Major, and I haven't looked back. For such a cheap and early unlocked M1, it's really good.
