You only said they were positioned, you didn't say that they had fired, and it could be that they were all holding cameras.........

Let's see...

40 is my current age. It was a few years ago that I had the age of x (your current age).

Now I'm 4 times the age you had back then, which is your current age (or my age back then) minus the age difference between me and you.

Age difference is 40-x.

Now we can complete the formula:

 

40 = 4(x -(40 - x))                            

40 = 4(x - 40 + x)

40 = 4x - 160 + 4x

40 = 8x - 160

8x - 200 = 0

8x = 200

x = 25

 

Your age is 25
